Some of us are going out to Watson Rd for some real steel shooting in the morning. Feel free to come on out if you want.

Directions:

I10 West to exit 117 Watson Rd.
Turn right and go to the end of the pavement.  Go another 2 tenths of a mile and make a right and follow that road for 3 miles and you'll find us.  Keep the big berm to your right as your driving and you'll be fine.

AEG's / NiMH or NiCAD... here's some info.
« on: May 19, 2003, 09:30:58 AM »
I just pulled this off the web.  Hope it helps some you with questions you've had about which is better, NiCAD or NiMH.

Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries are relatively newer technology and also do not suffer from memory effect. Compared to a NiCad battery of equal size, a NiMH battery will run for 30-40% longer on each charge. Also important from a driver’s perspective, NiMH batteries can be 50% recharged in just 15 minutes, and up to 90% in 1 hour using a car charger. The unique NiMH chemistry enables the packing of twice as much energy into a given mass than is possible with NiCads. This can also result in NiMH batteries having up to twice the life span of NiCads. NiMH batteries rank as the "best value" of all cellular phone battery types. Their trouble free service, longer running times and reasonable price has made Nickel Metal Hydride the most popular battery type for cellphones. Additionally, NiMH batteries are made from non-toxic materials and are environmentally friendly.

Airsoft Items FOR SALE / Sanyo 2400 mah batteries for sale on eBay

This is a great deal.  So far their only $1 per cell.  This guy has two auctions going with 300 cells available.  If you're looking to get a large battery this is the way to go.  Buy a bunch and take them to batteries plus and have them put a pack together for you.

AEG's / M4A1 upgrade info... good info for all guns though
« on: November 13, 2002, 03:18:46 PM »
Most of you have seen the picture I posted of the Systema M120 springs.  Well you got to see those due to my deciding to tear into my gear box.  I installed a Systema M130 spring, Systema Flat Torque Up Gears and left the rest alone as it was already done.  Since I'm using a very short barrel which is about an inch longer than an MP5 inner barrel I haven't been able to get the gun to chrono close to 400, best I think I ever got was 370 and that was with a TN 6.04 full length M4 inner barrel.  So if my guesstimation is correct, I should be darn close to the 400 mark with it now.  Now the interesting part is that I could not get it to cycle with an 8.4 1500mah battery.  It would cock the piston back about 70% of the way and then hang.  I put in my 8.4 2000mah battery and it worked just fine.  I read that they recommend a 9.6 battery for Torque Up Gears but it looks like a higher MAH rating will do the trick too.

AEG's / Springs... an FYI
« on: November 08, 2002, 02:45:21 AM »
Just in case some of you think that the springs in your AEG won't compress over time, take a look at this picture.  Both springs are Systema M120's.  The top spring has been in my M4 for a year and a half.  The bottom spring is brand new.  I lost a good 20 - 30 fps due to this.

Just an FYI.
