AEG's / AEG repairs
« on: October 13, 2002, 06:27:55 PM »
Hey guys, just wanted to let you know I ordered a bunch of upgrade parts from Chase. So if you're looking for a set of gears, a new spring, metal bushings I've got a good selection.

I'm also set up for replacing worn out motor drive gears. So if you've stripped your motor gear and were planning to buy a whole new one to replace it don't. I can replace the old gear for $17.50 which includes return postage to you.

Hey guys,

I've been thinking of going into business and repairing AEG's. It would only be AEG's and not Gas guns. What do you think. What would be a fair cost for labor to you? I was thinking of charging a flat rate of $25 labor for a complete gun rebuild plus the cost of the parts and shipping.

Give me your input.

Thanks,

General Airsoft Discussion / Airsoft in Korea
« on: June 13, 2002, 09:07:46 AM »
Hey guys, I got this from Vell a couple days ago. Thought you all might find it interesting to read.

Here are the results of my airsoft recon:

Friday night, I met with a local who plays airsoft. I went to his
motorcycle shop, with the intention of BSing about airsoft, and then
leaving. It turned out, his team wanted to meet me as well, and we ended up in another Korean town. The team is called 'White Scorpion' and they have a website, www.gunpower.com It is in Korean, but there are some pictures. They were so excited about meeting an American player. Without any hesitation, they invited me to join the team. These people are very different from us. They play very short games, much like speedball. The velocity limits are different too. The legal limit is 300FPS here, and they were shocked to hear about the 400/500 limit we have. The long scenario
games were something new to them also. I showed them the AA website (Jason can thank me later for the international exposure), and they liked the pictures.
Saturday, I went to Seoul to meet Team Bazooka. I did not see the team, I met with their only foreigner. He is a German, but he was so happy to talk to someone about airsoft in English. We went to an airsoft shop to look around, and Americans are very lucky. Due to import laws and taxes, the foreign-made guns are twice HK prices. The guns also have a bright color forearm. Imagine your M4 with a yellow forearm! So, Americans should never gripe about the US retailer prices or the small bit of orange on the tips, we are more fortunate than we think! I was invited to play with 'Bazooka' too, but I had to decline. 'White Scorpion' is a local (Kunsan) team, and they extended the offer first. By the way, Bazooka's site is
www.bazooka.co.kr
Anyway, my first game is next weekend (16 JUN), and I will get plenty of pictures and video.

Sorry you feel that way Mike but it is what it is. Unless you are personally willing to take responsiblity for any and all minors that attend one of our games then your opinion is mute. When we first started we did allow minors to play without their parents sticking around during the games. As time went by the majority felt unconfortable with taking the responsibility for these minors and felt that if their parents didn't have the time to stick around then we would try using sponsors for them. That worked out for a while but it still put the brunt of the repsonsibility on the sponsor for what ever happen to the minor during the game. I sponsored a couple guys myself and when they went their separate ways I chose to not sponsor anymore. Paco can give you the specfics on why waivers are pretty much worthless when it comes to minors.

Our biggest fear is not the Anti-gunners here in the US but rather in the UN. I just read an article in my NRA Freedom magazine about how the UN plans to push through an International Treaty in 2006. This in essence will disarm all of the US if we get an anti-gun president and senate elected. All the President has to do is sign it into law and the US Constitution is just toilet paper. This is why it is so important not to waste your votes this election. Use your votes wisely to keep Bush in the Whitehouse another 4 years and keep the UN from getting their hooks into us!

If you plan to hunt other big game in the future such as Elk the I'd get the 7mm mag. Otherwise 30-06 is more than sufficient for deer size game.

Great post Greg. Don't ever think that it can't happen here in the US folks. They're trying, one bite at a time to do it to us.
