Your first gun
« on: July 14, 2012, 09:57:06 AM »
Let's share some stories of the days of olde. What was your very first airsoft gun? What are some important moments in your time as an airsofter, such as getting a gun that was special in any way?

My first gun was a $15 EBB Desert Eagle. There was a shop simply called "Tools" that had a tiny selection of cheap guns, and my friends and I were getting into airsoft but had very little money. I got that Deagle. It was crap, but the coolest piece of crap at the time.

My first actual full auto rifle was a Cyma AK-47 for $80. Stopped working about 3 months later.

Overall I have owned 12 guns, but only 4 of them were actually any good. Due to a house break in, 3 of my guns, one being my Echo1 M249 Para SAW, were stolen.

Now tell your story!

my first gun was a $20 piece of crap mini AUG. it was really fun and that is how me and a few of my friends started airsofting. we bought countless spring pistols over the years and we bought better and better guns. i currently own 2 guns  but have owned overall 30+ airsoft guns. even though the only good ones were an m4 and a $10 clearance c02 pistol from sport chalet that somebody stole from me at a game.

Ah back in the day....

My first airsoft gun EVER was a spring P22 from Sports Authority. Thing lasted forever, until my friend broke it, of course. Still, I bought a replacement I liked it so much.

My first AEG was an Echo 1 Stag-15 (M4). Great gun, had it for quite awhile. Worked in people's yards in the middle of the summer for DAYS to be able to afford it, as I was too young to get a real job at the time, but it was worth every minute.

Since then I've been through various AEGs and whatnot, but now I'm in the process of switching to all GBB. My most constant gun throughout my collection has been my KJW 1911. I'll never get rid of that thing, it's my baby... haha.

My first airsoft gun was this full metal (actually metal) spring 1911 that i bought online for 15 bucks. I still have it today! Its hilarious how decently built it was for 15$. It shot extremely well with .25s and I had so many funny backyard wars with it.

My first gun was a $140 JG MK36C. My friend got me hooked on airsoft about 5-6 years back and he had a G36c himself which i always used as we were playing in his backyard, which led me to eventually buy one a few months later. I knew little of the do's and don't's of airsoft and so proceeded to reuse old bb's and do other... very... bad... things... to it, which most of you would probably shriek in horror if you watched. Eventually my aeg died from extreme misuse then gave it to a buddy as my family was moving and i had no money to fix it. As far as i know, he turned it into a pretty cool looking prop for school. haha (Never did find out what went wrong, all i knew it was something in the gearbox)

4-5 years later i decided to get back into airsoft and bought the exact same rifle but now only costing $115. Did some Internal and external upgrades and works like a charm. It has never jammed up in almost a year. And just blew one fuse so far. I continued to buy a full metal 1911 and a decent P90 which both manufacturer names escape me as of this moment and i am to lazy to look them up. (sorry) Last but not least, my latest addition is a Javelin M4A1 which i received in one of the evike box of awesomeness.

Fear not, i have learned much, and shall continue to learn much more. AEG's shall never be mishandled in my hands again. hehe

wow... first gun...

Springer back in like '03 or something. I think it was modeled after an M9...

First AEG was a second hand TM Mp5k PDW. That thing was baller as fuck, chrono'd at a blazing 240 but somehow had amazing range. First gun I bought myself new was a CA Mp5 A4, loved the shit out of it, a little too much. Became my first experiment into gearbox work and now resides in pieces in about eight or nine other Mp5's spread around Colorado.

My oldest gun in my current lineup is my G&P M4, which this christmas is going to be 6 years old. Fan-fuckin-tastic weapon, only locked up twice and the only part that failed (after three years of weekend use) was G&P's famous exploding blue piston. Replaced the piston and this thing is still trucking along with almost entirely stock internals. The body has seen better days, really the only original body parts are the sling mount, grip, buffer tube and stock. I love this gun and will never sell it. Gonna frame the original lower receiver and keep it forever as a testament to this fantastic piece of airsoft engineering. It's also got sentimental value as a gift from my parents so I will never sell the gun.

very first airsoft gun was a jg g36c which lasted me forever, the wiring wasnt too great on it, but then again it was a 2008 version, but i still was able to shoot full auto. eventualy i cut a couple teeth off the sector gear and installed a full tooth metal polycarb piston and it held up great and gave me the rof that i wanted out if it. it was pretty damn durable and im glad i got it as my first AEG rather than a crappy walmart gun.
I realize that while most people suck, there are still some genuine characters that exist out here. I'll show my appreciation by being genuine in return.
Love the sport.

I walked into gearbox for the first time, tired of borrowing guns, and wanting to make airsoft a bigger hobby on my life I picked up a L86 sniper for about 110, and a couple scopes. The gun is ok, but I just sealed the deal on a brand new matrix fal sa58, very excited for this one

My first airsoft gun was a spring replica of a Sig Sauer 226 my dad bought me to practice gun safety when I was 10 or 11. I still have it today although it doesn't work.

This was super long ago, I was like 9 or 10 years old living in ny when my dad took my friend and I to a hunting expo, there was a salesman with a bunch of cheap airsoft guns, we both got cyma p.618's, my first gun.

My very first airsoft gun was some plastic Benelli M3 looking thing that my brother gave me. I would shoot the crappiest of .12's through that thing at my friends. Then, one day it broke, and I had nothing for a few years. I then got a spring M14 from Hobbytron, and that's what I used for the longest time until I got my G&G CM16 Raider. Now I have gone through maybe 10 airsoft guns, and I currently have a G&G G4 PWS Diablo, and a KWA M9 PTP Tactical.
How 'bout we all just... Don't be dicks to each other?

My first was a crappy M9 spring gun from Airsoft128 lol. Terrible gun, but damn it was fun. Certainly got me interested- my first AEG was a TM M16vn.
