If you're willing to spend a bit, I would recommend G&P. I've had nothing but good experiences with their products.

If you're just trying out the hobby though, I would look at some Echo1 guns. They're less expensive and locally available.
Ron at Gearbox in Tempe has a nice selection of them.

it has been proven in history that for a group to survive its government must be over thrown from time to time. my fear is that this will come to our lands way to soon.

I would reccomend getting the G&G, but for some reason, (dont take this the wrong way) noobs like the Echo 1 G36c. Both are good guns, but whatever you like. And what would your price range be anyway?

A good starter gun is like an echo 1, airsoft gi g4 series, g&g combat machine.

If you're certain that you are going to like the game, KWA's and full metal G&G's are both very good guns.

If you're willing to spend that much then I would defiantly go with a G&P.

Internals are excellent and externals are second to none.

I suggest doing some research and looking at reviews for guns you're interested in. Make sure you like what you're buying.

I'd say go with a Echo 1 and spend the rest of the money on mags, bb's, gear, batteries...etc.

That is probally the best advice your gun will be the most expensive but if your going to get seriously into the sport your going to need mags uniforms goggles and other stuff a 200$ gun will work well and can be modified later the suggestions are good and 200$ will get you a good echo 1

HaHa  your making this to easy! g&p defender retails for EXACTLY 400 bucks! That being said, your still going to have to buy a vest, camo possibly, gloves, batteries, mags, ammo, ect.. as previously mentioned.  Honestly, I would go with a kwa m4a1. They're like 300 bucks. Their new 2gx gearbox is unbeleivable.
