You can get them new for about $350 depending on which slide you want.  As far as the grip goes, unless the only pistols you've shot are single stack 1911's, it's not all that abnormal.  I mean unless you have the the hands of a 8 year old, you should be fine.  Another member on here has the Taurus 24/7 Compact which is effectively the same gun (side by side, you can hardly tell them apart) with a few additional features that you may or may not want.  The decocker on the 24/7 is nice but the "textured" grip is just stupid.  Taurus makes mag spacers for the 9mm and .40 to fill the gap when using the mags from the full size 24/7 in the compact 24/7 and PT145 but for whatever reason doesn't make them for the .45.  I'm working on trying to get some made for mine.

Do NOT buy a used one as the original model (4+ years ago) had issues with shearing the hammer pin.  But I've had this PT145 for about 6 months, my mom has had a PT111 (the 9mm version) for about a year and I've got two friends who have both had theirs for a couple of years.

Hold it when its wet and slimy and you will appreciate it...I really like my PT24/7C .40.  It is an outstanding carry gun and I have had absolutely no problems with it.  It has and is serving me well..

There's ways of texturing it for those situations that doesn't make it feel like a koosh ball.  :)  But I know we had this discussion already.

Don't feel like reading through all the posts by kids.

1. Go to range
2. Rent guns you think look cool.
3. Find which one is the most comfortable, and you shoot the best with. Also try different calibers
4. Buy gun you like
5. Post picture of your sweet new gun on Facebook.

That particular comeback doesn't really fit here but I guess it makes about as much sense as your other posts.

Beretta 92fs or (my 2nd choice in all handguns) cz75b. Both r very accurate and come in .40cal versions. Besides that, i would probably go with a sig p226 or an FN five-seven

I open and conceal carry my Glock 23 and occasionally my Ruger P90 but not so often.  My duty weapon is a Glock 22.  I'm toying with the idea of getting a Glock 27 for a backup weapon when on duty as well.

Well because I'm under age I cannot carry but My dad carries the glock 21. I do shoot and handle the gun and from my perspective it would be a good choice because it's cheaper then other guns at 460 and it's almost impossible for a glock to break if you don't belive me go on youtube and search. There are people who shoot it out of a cannon and then put 1000 rounds threw it. Or ask the guys at shooters world they said they smash a glock with a sledge hammer and it worked fine. All in all the glock will be your workhorse. But other guns that I would recommend is a 1911 or a sig p228

Hey thanks for the responses you guys, and while I shake my head at you Glock shooters out there I do appreciate your input.

I'm not the guy asking airsofters on the Internet for gun advice.

Amen. The best way to find out is to shoot the shit out of as many hand guns you can, make up your own mind.

I love my 21SF. I carry a 36 (or Ruger LCP) off duty - it's a little bulky for a thin guy like me, but it's not as bad as a 30.

The LCP is so comfortable to carry...I'm not a big fan of .380, though, and the trigger is terrible.

You can't really go wrong with a Glock (unless it doesn't fit your hand right, of course).  There are other options, naturally - I haven't yet shot a Springfield XD, but I've heard really good things about them.  It may be worth looking into.
