Do any of you guys know some good quality 68 round mags, that don't cost an arm, a leg, or a kidney that will fit in an ICS M4 mag well?
-
I picked up some of the STAR mags and Im liking them. Airsoft Atlanta also has a 130 round mag for M16s that is priced at $14.99, I have no experience w/ it tho. Rick

Yea I was looking for the 68 round, because I don't want too much, but since I'm spending the extra money to buy a full metal gun, I shouldn't cheap out on mags.
-
I hear thoughs star mags are pretty damn good for there low price. The only bad thing is there plastic. I would get some of the star mags for back up and then get a about 3 good quality ones that coast abot $25.
-
Now tht i got my gun to accept star mags im glad i bought them. There is no point in spending twice the amount for one mag. The 30 rounders are great for realism and fun.
-
Yea, but they could break and it is just bad measure to have plastic mags and a metal gun. Seems wrong to me.
Anyone know any U.S. retailers that sell them for a decent price?

All sorts of mags including STAR 30 rounders.
-
Eh, I give up. I'll just buy the STAR 30 round mags instead, I guess it levels out the realism.
Realistic round limit versus realistic feeling.

the 30 round mags arent that bad. you wont be feeling up much on your magazine once you are in a fight.

I have star mags and they work fine in my M4. And for there price I am sure that if one or two dont work you can just get rid of them altough I havent had trouble yet.
-
I've heard you have to modify your mag well, what do you have to do?
Wolverine, I think you may have to modify your age. In the AA rules you must state how old you really are, just a heads up before a mod notices.
-
you dont have to modify anything, unless your an idiot. they fit really snug, so you have to put them in your magwell a little harder than a normal mag. I think the modification you might be referring to is shaving a bit off top of the magazine, similar to the G&P midcaps(that is a fix i've heard before).

Thanks Firehead :)

Thanks Firehead :)
no problemo. Personally, the 30 round mags take some time to get used to, but once you do they rock. make sure you get a tightbore, and stay in semi auto. that is the best way to make them effective, make your shots count. and dont be afraid to reload if you have 5 rounds left in the mag. reloading, and still having a mag with ammo may save your "life".

I found a CA M16 68 round mag for 14 bucks. Will that fit in the ICS mag well or no?
-
yes, it will.
-
Once again, thanks :)
-
no problem. where are you getting these mags for that cheap? it must be overseas.
-
Yea, it is overseas. None other than DT ;)
-
Well somtimes it depends if they will fit or not. If they dont just tweak/modify your mag catch a lil and then all will be good :D.
-
I'm having some feeding issues on my star mags, I have to push them forward to feed. Anything I could other than hold the mag while firing, or make the mag thicker in some spots?
-
its your mag catch. I *was* having the same problem with my M15A4, i changed the mag catch and they worked just fine.
