actualy no, I am not. I was accusing my brother of the same thing earlyer today. Because I told him I was saving up for real steel Mak-90. I just felt that keeping that many mags loaded was over kill. I could only think about keeping one mag loaded, but only using maybe three rounds. One in the shoulder, second one in the arm,  and third for when the dude still doesnt get the hint he broke into the wrong f#^$!ng house. Thats just my Philosophy on the subject. However, in reality I would probley bug out, and wind up using the whole clip from my Glock on his @$$.

Take into account the lenght of games you will be playing.  Some of them get quite long! We had a pretty intense firefight at one of the games in prescott, and i ended up going through 8 TM standards and 4 G&P midcaps.  And I normally only fire semi auto.  That was a RARE occasion..but crap was it fun.

By the way, do Mid-caps make the rattle noise that Highcaps do?

Hey, don't glocks use magazines? ;)

G&P midcaps, from what I have heard, are okay. Some require modification to fit in the mag well. Stick with Maruis, stay away from Classic Army mags(no personal experience with CA Standards, only M4 hicaps). Magpul(yes the company) just started producing airsoft magazines with Ranger plates installed, dunno how they perform, but I am interested to see.

CA standards are good to go.  Ive owned many without a single problem.  The G&Ps have always worked perfect with marui bodies (good quality control) its the CA guns where they start to have problems in.  The G&Ps need to be lubed to keep them feeding if you want to run them at full capacity.  If you run them at say 100 rounds (instead of 130) they are 100% reliable (at least for me). One of my classmates referred to the magazine of his sidearm as a "clip" during firearms training at the Academy.  He did not do this a second time.  Neither did anybody else.

"A clip is something you wear in your hair, ladies.  The thing that holds the cartriges for your weapon is called a 'magazine'"

Ummmm...

Hate to ressurect an old thread, but at least this pertains to the topic.

I found a pretty good deal on 30rnd STAR Mags, for an M4. But I don't know if they're really worth it. All I use is Mids and Highs. The rattling on the High's is annoying but I'm not sure if only 30rnds will be enough, as apposed to the 150 that I'm used to.

(I know it's a noob question, but I just wanted a few opinions)

Newb bumping another thread!

I was wondering when you guys go out on the field what does the majority of you use in capacity? Are there a lot of high cap mags being used or low caps? I just picked up a CA M15A4 Rifle and am in the process of filling out my gear.

I was looking at the 30 round Star standard mag, some say yes and no on these, figure they are cheap so if they don’t work I'm not out of anything and will just get some higher quality ones.

I was also looking at getting some G&P 130 round standard mag. Do those work with my rifle and a good pick up? I was thinking of getting a couple of these.

Do you guys use more high caps over the low caps?

Thank you very much for the help

Welcome to AA.

Most people use standard cap mags (68 round). Hicaps are good if you are on a serious budget to get started as you'll only need a couple, but most people hate them because of their grossly unrealistic capacity and because you have to wind them. Midcaps work alright, but have a tendancy to jam, requiring a good smack to get them going again. Star mags never jam, but you'd better get good at reloads.
