General Airsoft Game Discussion / Re: Airsoft events worth going to?
« on: March 01, 2017, 04:21:02 PM »
I don't think there is much going on anymore.  My team hosted a few summers in a row a large game up on the rim in the national forest, our last one had 80 or so in attendance.  We have stopped hosting games due to life changes in general with our team mates, I for one was the primary organizer of our summer games but have since moved to Tucson, a few other team mates have moved away as well.  There are a few other teams who have hosted great games in the past as well, don't know what they are doing but I'm sure they have gone through some changes.

Anyone know if Crossfire is having this event this year 2016.

Thanks for your interest, unfortunately this has been a busy year for most on our team members.  For myself and my brother who are the main planners of our events it has been impossible for us to make time for airsoft.  Neither of us have played since last years game.  We don't know if our team will be hosting any airsoft events in the near future.  We have always had a good turn out and hope to one day resume hosting airsoft events.

Airsoft Items WANTED / Re: Extra LiPo Batteries

I paid $18 dollars at my local Hobby Shop for a 7.4 lipo, it was cheaper than other places around town plus I didn't have to wait for shipping from china.

It looks interesting enough to try but the problem would be cell reception or just a wifi signal (assuming you can use it strictly over wifi and don't need internet access).

Below is a link to photos and video taken during Saturday's game play.  Download as you wish and use as you wish.  I apologize most of the video is bad, this was our first time doing the whole video and photo thing so we will get the bugs worked out and do better next year.

Thank you to all who participated in our event.  I worked late last night so I don't yet have the link ready yet for photos and video, I should get that posted later today.  I don't know how many items were lost but of the three items that were found and given to us one was returned already.  The other two items were given to "Warlord" from LynchTec, they are out at wild west in east mesa, you can also contact Warlord here on the forum.

I had to leave Saturday night due to a family thing in the morning on Sunday but judging by the previous posts it sounds like we need to do a much better job of cleaning up after ourselves.  It looked to me like most of the people out there on Saturday were adults so next time lets act like it and clean up after ourselves.

Again thank you for participating in our event.  We are hoping to do this again next summer, we will try and find a bigger location for next year.

Had a great time! Big thanks to the people at Crossfire.

However, there was a disgusting amount of trash left behind at the main camp site, the one right across from the briefing area. The area is littered with tiny scraps and there was a full trash bag, a broken folding chair and a plastic jug left by the two fire pits. Our group left at around 9pm, and and there was another storm upon us. We were only able to pick up the big stuff.

Seriously guys, WTF... What happens when park rangers see the mess left behind?

Here is a quote from the OP, "Bring trash bags to pack your trash and take with you when you leave.  The area we are going to be in should be just as clean if not cleaner than before we got there. " ...

On a positive note, to the person who lost their optic out on the field, we found it! PM me with what kind of scope/optic it is and we can figure out how to get it back to you.
Thanks for participating and a special thank you for picking up trash left by others.

Our squad left Sunday afternoon. Most of the trash was gone by then but we still found some trash in the staging area that we went ahead and picked up - plastic bottles, colored armband tape, and other stuff. We as airsofters collectively have to a better job leaving the site trash free otherwise it will give airsoft a bad name, and nobody wants that.

The event was really fun and thanks to Crossfire for putting on a good (and free) event. It might have been helpful to have a sign posted up at the event with game times and game information, and perhaps even some 5-minute warning air horn blasts to signal that games were about to start. That might have given the event a more organized feel. I know you posted game info in advance on the forum, but I had no cell service and I didn't save all the game info somewhere which I recognize was my bad. But still I think some signs/communication would have been much appreciated by all. We missed a game because we weren't sure if it had started and our camp wasn't right by the staging area so we couldn't just look over and see. Yes we are slow to suit-up-for-the-shoot-up and that's why it helps to know if a game is really starting in 1 minute, otherwise we might take 2 minutes getting loaded up.

Again, big thanks to Crossfire for putting this on. Hope you do it again next year.

Thanks for participating, picking up after others (no matter how much you stress that some people will never care) and thanks for the feed back.  A sign with game times is a good idea, we didn't think of it.  We will be sure to incorporate that next year.

Final warning, if you haven't already,  please go back to the original post and read the whole thing. Double check the location one more time.   There will be a sign that says "CF"at each turn.  The last time I will look at the post is around noon.

Everybody please go back to the main post and read the updates.

What time do people plan on getting there on Friday?
We should be up there by 2pm.

I was looking around and found many rules for the medic rule. Can you please explain how we are going to use it?
If we actually use it, it will be part of the game brief

Is the new AO around that meadow just off of forest road 119? What will the boundaries be?

we will be playing on the opposite side of the road from the meadow.  No boundries established as of yet except for 300 feet from the road minimum, we'll talk about it before each game.

Important Game update for this weekend.  Pass the word.  location change.

People are going to hate us, some will complain.....we can take it.  We really wanted to host our game in a new location this summer, however things fell through at the last minute.  We will be changing the game location to the location we hosted last year.  It will be in the Apache Sitgreaves National Forest.  Please go back to the beginning to see the original game post for a link to the new location.

From highway 260 turn left on Rim road/FR 300/Woods Canyon Lake.  Continue on FR 300 approximately 8 miles.  Turn right on FR 169.  Continue on FR 169 for approximately 7 miles.  Turn right on FR 119, continue down 119 for 1 mile, camp site on the left.

There will be signs posted with "CF" in big letters.  If you have any questions PM me.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and hope you will still come out.

Will there be a charging station for batteries for AEG's?

We will have a generator available to charge batteries if necessary, however the generator isn't the most dependable.  If you have extras I would recommend bringing them.
