Accessories & Gear / AUG battery
« on: December 15, 2005, 02:57:03 PM »
what size battery would fit inside of an AUG?

I was thinking of buying 2 GP 8.4v 1100mAh NiMh Stick batteries, but I am not sure if they will fit in the aug.

Accessories & Gear / AK Rail
« on: December 05, 2005, 10:51:13 PM »
Couldn't find anything via search engine.

Trying to find a nice rail (preferrably tri-rail) under 50$.  Most I have found are in the 50-60$ range such as the hurricane etc.

-Thanks

It doesn't look cool and won't really fit in any holsters. The tassle is pretty gay too.

Meh, I happen to like the look of it.

But thats not the point, I was refering to the quality of the gun in my origional post.

Gas Powered Guns / MAUSER M712

I have heard really good things about this gun.

With a full metal/wood construction, and generally high FPS for a tad over 100$ it seems like an insane deal.

At the momment this might be my new side arm.

Any thoughts?

I settled on a Modular Vest(MOLLE style) made of Cordura Nylon.  It has 2 ammo pouches which can hold 3 AK mags each.  It has 4 GP pouches, and a utility pouch.  It allows for the attachment of a water pouch on the back.  Inside of the vest are internal mapping pockets for a pistol and some mags.

I like the modular vest because I can attach and detach what I need for the mission.  I like the non-bulkiness of the vest as well.

Looks like you found it on ebay...

No. No. No.

I think it looks pretty cheap.

Like Sarge said earlier. Get this.

If it's more than you're willing to spend right now, then save up a little longer. You won't ever have to get anything else, it will last. The other stuff won't.

The problem is that vest, although cool, does not have all the features I would like.  And yes if it was possible to attach other pouches etc. that would wind up being in the upper hundreds of dollars.

It's not that I don't have the money to buy it, it's the fact that I don't want to spend that much on a single product.  Albeit if I don't I will end up with a product of lesser qaulity, but it doesn't bother me because I treat my items well. (I am not saying you guys don't)  Everything I have bought for airsoft to this day has not been the best.  It as been the decent and they have lasted me many years.

I am looking for the median in tactical vests.

My opinion would be to go for this one if choosing from this and the first vest you showed us.  This looks sturdier (I'm no gear expert, and I'm just basing that on what I can see).  You know it can hold AK mags, and it's definately modular (MOLLE-style straps across it).  It also can carry plenty of other stuff as well.  Personally, I'd shy away from it just because of how far the pouches are from the body, making it a bit awkward to carry your weapon sometimes, like on a sling.  That's just personal preference.  Where did you find this, and how much is it?

I see what your saying with the sling/gun.  I think the 2 ammo pouches are "forward" persay because they are holding 3 real AK mags, which adds a lot of weight to the pouch.

I have STAR AK-74 Mags, which are plastic/metal.  They wouldn't put that much weight on the pouch.  Plus the 3 point sling I currently have I can adjust so the gun rests over the pouches.

I ran across this vest yesterday.

It is made from Cordura Nylon.  It is modular(I think it is MOLLE?)  It has 2 Ammo Pouches which it specifically says can fit 3 Russian Mags each.  It has 4 Large General Purpose pouches, which can hold pretty much anything ranging from 5-6 mags, a box mag or w/e I need in there.  It also has a utility/first aid pouch(I could put a radio etc. in there.)

Inside of the tact vest is a pistol pouch with some other utility pouches.

Since it is modular it has room for other misc. pouches, and of course a hydration pack pouch on the back.

It comes with a smaller belt, but has room for a webbing belt as well.

It's either this rig, or the one with the built in pouches(Still asking if the pouches can fit AK mags) that will be my final purchase.

Is cordura nylon stronger than 1000 denier?

Would the waist pouches fit AK mags?  The straps look adjustable so I am assuming it could.  This rig is made from 1000 Denier Nylon, It has a water hydration pack holster, numerous smaller pouches for items(Radio, Flashlight).  It has the 6 waist pouches which can fit 3 30 round mags(And I am assuming it can hold AK Style).  Inside of the jacket is a pistol holster along with some more pouches(Pistol mags etc.)  Adjustable straps to fit any size.

Thoughts?

50-70$

OD Color

4+ AK Mag Pouches
2-4 Pistol Mag Pouches
Water Res Pouch

-Optional-
Radio Pouch
Knife Pouch
Some sort of utility pouch(flashlight, flares w/e)

ATM, the one I linked fits all of my requirements, and 1 of my optionals.  It is made of High Density Nylon (which my LBV is made of, and it has lasted me many months without problems).

I have ordered numerous items from Asia with no problem, and they have been great quality to this date.

I am not implying this vest is the best or anything of the sort.  I am just looking for a decent/medicore vest which could hold up my gear for the time being.

I take no offense to anyone's opinions or consider any responses rude.  That is why I post my questions on AA, because I know you guys have a wide range of knowledge concerning these topics.  I am open to all critique and appreciate any suggestions/opinions you all have regarding my topic.
