General Off-Topic Discussion / The Army transformed me into this:
« on: December 29, 2006, 11:52:11 PM »
I'm the kid on the left.  It's amazing what the Army does for you now-a-days.

With all that tactical training I learned how to best set up my sniper rifle mp5 killer delta boom boom thingamagig.

Airsoft retreat is so entertaining it's rediculous...

General Off-Topic Discussion / The Army isn't all that bad.
« on: November 21, 2006, 06:13:24 PM »
So yeah, BCT is like the easiest thing in the world.

I'm in AIT now and it's even easier.

Expected something harder.  But so far, I'm having the time of my life.  I do miss airsoft though.

General Off-Topic Discussion / I joined the Army.
« on: July 23, 2006, 11:00:28 AM »
No shit.

Four year active.
I enlisted as a 98C or Signals Intelligence Analyst. Yes, that's MI... laugh all you want.

I leave August 23rd. I spend 9 weeks at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri for boot.  I then spend 27 weeks and a day at Goodfellow AFB, Texas for AIT. That means I probably won't be back until June '07. Amazing huh? But don't fret! I may be stationed at Ft. Huachuca afterwards so I could still attend some games...

Lets hope all goes well. Oh, and you guys should expect to see a post in the Classifieds section containing some sexy shit owned by me shortly, so keep your eyes and your wallets out.

AEG's / Possible SOCOM16 modification?
« on: November 26, 2005, 11:38:15 PM »
I'm currently looking at purchasing the SOCOM 16 from G&G.

One of the first things I wanted to modify was the rear stock assembly.  For those who have purchased and read the latest Combat Tactics you probably saw the McMillan MFS-14 stock they placed on the SOCOM 16.

For those who haven't, here's a picture of what I'm talking about:

I wanted to customize G&G's SOCOM 16 with airsoft parts to attach a pistol grip and an M4 style stock (please note that I do not want to make the stock foldable, just collapsable).  My main concern is the placement of the motor and the body work it would take to make this possible.

So, is this possible?
Who would I have to talk to to get this done?
How much money would this probably take (excluding the airsoft parts that can be purchased from retailers)?

Thanks for taking a look guys.  I hope I can find some answers.

Accessories & Gear / CIRAS vs. Random Plate Carriers
« on: November 14, 2005, 06:26:03 PM »
Looking to invest in some legit shit.

I'd first like to hear some opinions upon my choices before I spend my hard earned money.

Eagle Industries CIRAS- I'm currently leaning towards the Maritime version.  What do you guys think of the CIRAS (both Land and Maritime versions) overall?  Is it worth the $500 that I'd be investing in it?  It looked like the Land came in Khaki and OD Green but the Maritime in Coyote Brown and OD Green... is this true?  Is it overkill?  How comfortable is it?

Random Plate Carriers-

Eagle Plate Carrier w/Cummerbund- Not too expensive.  It looks to have plenty of rows and columns of PALS.  From what I keep seeing, these are a hit in Arizona.  Is it reliable?  Worth the $180?  What are your overall thoughts on it?  How comfortable is it?

DBT FAPC w/FAR- I originally planned to get this setup.  I like the fact that it comes in Ranger Green and Coyote Brown (although I don't believe either are in stock) and it's not too expensive.  I currently have several DBT products so I'm not worried about its reliability.  But how well do they work together?  Again, is it worth the money?  How comfortable are they?

Thanks for taking a look guys.

I greatly appreciate any help you can give me.

AEG's / TM Glock 18C AEP
« on: June 20, 2005, 02:26:45 PM »
I did a search and found little discussion of this so...

All this talk about pistol only games has gotten me in the mood to buy a pistol but, I'm not in the mood to buy gas and fill my magazines and fix cracked seals and o'rings and blah blah blah.

So I wanted to stick to something I know well.  Charging up a battery, plugging it in, and shooting the weapon.  So I looked at the Glock 18C AEP.  I found it at Depot 53 for $134.99 (http://www.depot53.com/products/5/355?cat=9).  $134.99 is a lot of money to spend on a gun I've heard little to nothing upon.

So is it really worth the $134.99 I'd spend on the gun plus another $60 on spare mags and an extra battery?  Does it compare with a GBB accuracy and range wise?  Is it easier to maintain than a GBB?  Would I need an extra battery?

General Airsoft Discussion / Depot 53 - Anybody heard of 'em?
« on: June 20, 2005, 12:28:41 PM »
I was looking around for some US airsoft retailers and came across Depot 53 (www.depot53.com).

They carry most if not all of the airsoft items you would look for in a retailer.  They even have G&G's new M14 as well as the high-cap mags for 'em.

I had a question about the availability of a certain item so I e-mailed 'em.  Five minutes later I got a response.  He also stated that I could call the 800 number they have for any problems or questions.  Also shipping doesn't seem like it would be too bad as they're based in Dallas, Texas.

They seem to be a well-run company.  Has anybody ordered something from them?  If so, how would you rate them?

General Off-Topic Discussion / I need a job... Recommendations?
« on: February 21, 2005, 08:16:16 PM »
I've been running low on money to buy "stuff" and by "stuff", I mean airsoft items.

This crisis has brought me to the thought of getting a job.  However, there's just one more problem to solve.  Where will I work?

That's where I need your help.  I'm looking for recommendations of where I should get a job.  Now, this would be a part time job... afternoons and weekends.  So if you've worked somewhere or are currently working somewhere that you like or enjoy, please, list it.  I'm pretty much open to all kinds of jobs (not, by all I do NOT mean Wal-Mart).  The only location would be Phoenix... I could personally narrow it down from there.

If needed:

Age: 16
Last grade completed: 10th
Previous jobs/activities:  I have no work experience.  However, I am rifle team commander and a class leader in my JROTC battalion so I am not new to working hard.
Days open to work:  Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays afterschool as well as Saturdays and Sundays.

I know this is a rather odd topic nevertheless please take it seriously.  Thank you ahead of time.

P.S. - Has anybody ever worked for Marshall's?  If so, how did you like it?

General Airsoft Discussion / Looking to start up an airsoft club...
« on: November 22, 2004, 07:11:50 PM »
A fellow airsoft player and I are looking into starting up a club whose main purpose is to provide a platform for people to get together and play in games.

Now, to business:

We're looking for a name.  We've come up with several ideas but all have been shot down with a "that's gay" or "I think we could do better".  Do you have any suggestions?  If so, PM me with them please.

We're also looking for members. We're leaning more towards the age group of 16-18 but if you're over the age, it's acceptable(we're doing this so that the younger players of AA have a group to play with/in).  Interested in joining?  If so, PM me.

Last but not least, we're looking for a reliable place to play.  By reliable, I mean somewhere that I can count on to be open to the club to play on weekends.  If you have any ideas on a place(s) please PM me.

Any questions/concerns/comments?  Call me at (602)518-2984

Accessories & Gear / "Rhodesian Tactical Vest"
« on: October 23, 2004, 10:18:24 PM »

"This is a NEW, Rhodesian/South African type Tactical Vest. This vest is Olive Drab Green. It is made of OD Green cordura nylon, and black mesh, totally adjustable, padded shoulder straps, padded waist, and fastex closures. Front has: two small general purpose pouches, 4 ammo pouches that hold magazines, 3 large general purpose pouches, 2 side general purpose pouches that can hold 5 magazines. Back has: 2 large general purpose pouches, attachment straps for poncho or bedroll and additional attachment points."

I found this vest on ebay for $32.95 with a flat rate of 10 dollars for shipping.  I was just wondering if somebody had prior knowledge of it's reliability.  Also, if you have any suggestions of tactical vests that are below 60 dollars, I would appreciate it if you posted it.  Thanks for your time.

Watched it a while ago.  I laughed throughout the whole movie because it made Michael Moore look like a complete idiot.

That's absurd.  If I saw somebody carrying around a broken table leg in a plastic bag(be it a clear or a black bag) I'd think it would be a weapon.
