Cqb support weapon?
« on: September 30, 2012, 11:55:18 AM »
I am a support gunner on my team and instead of lugging my 249 around I was thinking of getting a JG m4 stubby and putting a box mag on it. me and my team are going to tac city in California soon and I could use it to lay down consitant fire. Plus it would get a few laughs from my team. Any thoughts or suggestions.

you'd have to check the range rules and regulations to see whether or not they will allow a support weapon to be a M4 or assault rifle. Sounds cool though!

A more "proper" way is get a modified 249 with a para stock a good sling and one of those small 100 rd box mags. Then you won't have to worry about any regulations cqb or not. Although sometimes certain rules won't allow a saw indoors (or any full.auto.indoors) because of its full auto only.which in that case would be useless to bring a box mag equipped m4 into a bldg anyways.

I second this recommendation, sound advice.

You could even go with a modified M4 collapsible stock which would be even lighter than the para stock.

The only 2 cqb fields I know of dont allow full auto unless certain special games. If you feel the need for some sort of semi auto support weapon just buy a hicap?

You could do a P90 with a box magazine.

Does anybody know if Tac City in Califorina would allow a Para with a box mag, which in that case I would scrap the m4 stubby( I already bought it :( ) I have a Para right now.

The answer is, as I hear from my California friends, "yes", so long as it's under 350 with .20's and it's not on a Wednesday night. Wednesday is pistols and shotguns only.

Could always try and put a M27 IAR build together.

Isn't that just a 416, a hi-cap, and a new roll stamp?

For the most part.  Otherwise, he's just considering throwing a box mag on an M4...

I'd prefer the 416.
