Wood furniture: who else likes the classic look?

Had an old HFC T77 sitting around, sad and stock-less, because I broke the little flimsy plastic end at the first S.T.A.L.K.E.R game.  Got tired of it being stock-less, so I started experimenting with some walnut I had laying around and ended up with a stock and handguard.  What do you guys think?

The stock was all for function, but I decided to give the handguard a little creative license and see what I could do

The checkering and wave symbols are done well, checkering is difficult to do without a checkering file set, I was lousy at it without my tools, GOOD job

Thanks!  I'm thinking of trying to do this stuff a little more than recreationally just to see if I have what it takes to get a small upstart off the ground.  That is part of why I'm going to college after all lol.
