Troubleshooting / CM048m Selector Switch Issue

I recently had some work done on my Cyma CM048m's gearbox(v3), and I noticed a slight issue after reassembly: The selector switch is very loose when on the semi-automatic setting, even after tightening the main screw. It even seems to move upward slightly in the direction the automatic setting. At first I thought the issue was that the selector gears were misaligned, but they seem to be in working order, except for a small amount of play. The gun performs otherwise fine, but this is a rather annoying problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Also, there seems to be another problem, but I'm not sure if one is the byproduct of the other. When set to semi-auto from automatic, it stays in automatic until I pull the selector switch slightly lower than usual, then it goes into semi. Once again, the selector gears are aligned just fine, but with the rear gear having a slight amount of play when set to semi.

According to ASGI, some new KWAs are in for only $190. I'm not terribly sure of the quality, but at the same time I don't expect KWA to lower their name just for some budget models. Let me know of any reviews that start to pop up, I'm pretty curious of what they had to reduce quality wise to make it so cheap, besides the plastic lower.

So, I'm a bit of a cheapskate, and I've been looking into the Condor MOD vest, which seems fairly decent for the price they're offering. I have little experience with chest rigs, so I've got no idea what to expect. Has anyone dealt with this vest before, and if so, is it worth the money?

It appears that Airsoft GI is selling a WE glock 17, in part form, in an unaltered way for now. Despite being a WE, it's the first time I've seen a legit looking glock in the US for quite a while.

Accessories & Gear / Decent Scopes?

Right now I'm looking for a decent 4x scope, and I really don't know where to start. I've heard that Leapers and NC Star are just China rebranders, but are they good enough for airsoft use without constant maintenance? I'm pretty new to the scope world, and I really don't want to shell out a ton of money at the moment. The most I'll pay right now is $50, please tell me any decent offers you see out there. Thanks for any advice given.

Gas Powered Guns / KSC Glock Questions

Ok, lately I've been looking for a KWA or KSC Glock as my primary sidearm, with little to no success. However, I just discovered a brand new KSC G17 with a metal slide ($140) on Ehobbyasia, and it just looks too good to be true. I have a few questions, just to make sure this is a good buy.

1. Is Ehobbyasia a reliable retailer? I've never dealt with this company before, so some opinions would be nice.

2. KSC vs. KWA? Are there any substantial differences between the two, besides trademarks/slides? Does the KSC have the same quality as the KWA's?

3. Are there any major problems with the design of the GBB? Is the G19 model more reliable overall?

4. Does KSC still make glocks? I'm concerned that it may be a fake; also, I thought that KSC's couldn't have stock metal slides, but I may be wrong.

Thanks for answering any of the questions I have, I'm just making sure that this deal is as good as it sounds.

Troubleshooting / WE 1911 Jamming

My WE 1911a1's slide gets stuck in place when cycling, and it's starting to concern me. It fires a few rounds normally, then locks up and becomes extremely difficult to move the slide. This hasn't been a problem in the past, and just started recently. Has anyone had this problem before, or any ideas how to fix it? Thanks

General Airsoft Game Discussion / Fort Adobe Questions

Hey guys I was just wondering a few things about fort adobe, and I hope you can clarify some things for me.

1. Do they sell barrel plugs/covers? Also, will a standard barrel plug work on a gbb pistol?

2. Can you rent out face masks there? Can helmets fit over them? Pretty self explanatory.

(Warning: I am not trying to start any disputes or flame wars here, I just want a straight answer. I will try to ask this as respectfully as possible regardless.)

3. I am a minor, will I be accosted by other players at a fort adobe game because of my age? I would like to not be associated with that stereotype, and I would like to prove that I play the game respectfully. If I behave like the stereotype, I deserve to be treated like so. Once again, I'm not trying to start anything here, this is just a simple question that I have. Thank you for understanding.

Gas Powered Guns / WE 1911 Parts?

Where can I buy somewhat cheap WE 1911 parts, such as a skeleton hammer and trigger? I've heard that they are TM compatible for the most part, but are those parts in particular interchangeable? I really don't want to drop $50 on a hammer, so any help would be appreciated.

Troubleshooting / G&G PM5 Problems

Ok I'm really freaking out here: I just received my G&G PM5-A4 (Full Stock) from evike.com, and there are a few problems with it. First, the butt pad really doesn't want to come off, and the bolt cover seems to be stuck back inside the gun. Is this an easily fixed problem, or should I contact evike? If worst comes to worst I'm going to just run to gearbox to have it fixed. Thank you for any help.

Note: The gun itself is now out of stock there, and I don't want to have to wait 5 months to get it back.

Ok, I have to apologize beforehand for adding several new topics regarding guns lately, I know it must be kind of annoying to some of you out there, but this is the LAST one of these I will create, at least for now. Ok, I've finally settled on the G&G PM5-A4 gun, does anyone know if this is a decent gun overall (it doesn't have to be perfect). Is there some horrific flaw in this gun that I don't know about, or is it really as good as it sounds? I've heard many good things about this gun, but I want a second opinion from the people here. Thanks once again.

Is the CA33 KA3 a decent gun overall, such as accuracy, durability, internals, etc; and are there any notable design flaws in the gun? If this isn't a good gun, are there any comparable guns that are similar externally? Also, I've been having a difficult time finding a trustworthy store to buy this gun from, does anyone know where I can get it without being ripped off in the process? Thank you for any responses.

(I'm just asking all of these questions to make sure that this is a good buy, and it won't break the instant I buy it)

Accessories & Gear / Camo Form Tape

Has anyone tried this product, and if so, is it worth buying? I'm kind of skeptical that it would stay on for long periods of time, and I'm concerned that it will leave adhesive residue on the gun after I've removed it. Let me know what you think of it. Thanks
