Who owns an airsoft shotgun
« on: June 20, 2005, 02:51:01 PM »
Looking to buy a Shotgun, and I'm wondering who currently owns, or has owned one and can tell me which models to steer clear from.

From what I've heard, the Marushin and the Marui are good to go. I'm looking to get one too, but I don't have money to burn so I'm thinking about this one. Check out the thread...

(Harballs are great too. Esspecially for the price)

I've one of the cheap SPAS knockoff springers - they're OK for the price, but I gotta agree with Hoff - the Hardball's got a LOT going for it - the action is pretty smooth and it at least feels fairly sturdy....

!!! Hardballers?!?!?!  I've used my friends Tokyo Marui M3 Super 90 in a few games, and have considered getting one.  They fire 3 shots at once, and each shell holds 30 rounds.  The gun is fairly accurate, and the shots stay at a good distance from eachother so you have a pretty good spray.

I've also considered the M870 BV (http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper.ph ... _srch_M870 BV)  because its gas, and would fire a little bit faster.

The only one's I've been told to stay away from are the ones that only fire one BB at a time (which would defeat the purpose of having a shotty), and the KTW ones (But no explanation was given).
I personally think this one looks the best http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper.ph ... t_Shotguns

Well if someone just wanted a shotgun then a harball isn'e bad. Besides, it makes up for it's non-spray style by giving you an awesome rate of fire; and the fact that it's one BB per shot means that you can pump out 30 shots real fast and more consentrated, instead of just having 7 cloud shots. It's all about preference.

Either way, like I said, the Marushin and Marui are probably the best quality.

But Marushin shotguns only fire one shot at a time, as opposed to the Maruzen which can fire (in some) up to 10 bb's at once, and the Marui ones which fire 3 at a time.

Hardballers are fun to plink around with, but they're $20 for a reason... they're just springers.

Bah

So many people are biased against springers. But whatever you like.

If you do get a marushin/maruzen, you are going to have to settle with the ailment of picking up shells out of the dirt. Though it would probably be worth it in terms of firepower and the amout of bbs that you can shoot at one time.

You can always get probably the most infamous shotgun in hollywood! Id bet it'd  turn alot of heads at a game. :D

Check out the Maruzen CA 870 springer. Definitely worth the money, and very upgradable. Mine was uggraded for LC4, and is shooting almost 400fps, has adjustable hop-up, 4 40rd mags, and is accurate over 120ft. All of this for less than the cost of an AEG.

Yeah, when I get a shotgun, I'm not going to get the ones where you have to pick up the shells. I run around too much.

I have owned a Marui M3 shorty for quite a while.  While it gets sneered at as a springer, it shoots just as fast as a stock AEG.  Nothing to brag about, but usable.  I have probably gotten as many kills with it as with my tuned-up AEGs.  I use it as a quick backup to my AEG.  If my AEG goes down, I head back to the car, grab my shotgun rounds and the shotgun.  Super reliable.

It is kind of like a fat girlfriend, everyone gives you a hard time when they see you with it, but you always know the action is there when you need it.

I agree with the three shot spread, I want a shotgun for the pattern, not a single shot.  As for picking up the shells, if you get 30 rnds per shell, you'll only need the three original shells.  I like limiting round count, just do a tactical reload (and retain the spent shell).

I looked at the harballers and it looks cheesie.  I've been looking around, JT only had the SPAS and Harballer.  Want an economical gun, preferably a springer.

I have a TM Spas-12. It suposedly lasts longer than the m3's, but it is also harder to cock especailly if you wear gloves beacuse it has a very slick surface.
