This thread is for discussion and comments and the like of the content in the Weapon Photos thread.

Very nice work, Paul!
What kind of modifictations were required to get that shotty so short?
-
The most obvious is the shortened barrel. The magazine tube had to be shortened and the barrel brace and end cap moved and epoxied into place.
The forgrip had the middle taken out and renforced to strengthen it.At the rear the stock mount points were removed and covered with a plastic plate, that was sanded to shape.
most of my prototype work like this is done on cheap springers like this. These shottys are two for 20 bucks at JT. The cut down price was right for the cut down job. This could be done with a Maruzen CA870, but it would take a little more time and care. I did this last night between 9:00pm and 2:30 am. I was so tired I had to wait to post until this afternoon.
I'll probably do another one and do step by step photos.
-
Paul, you need to get yourself one of these for it to complete the look - http://www.airsoft-war4.com/photos//200510066105.jpg (http://www.airsoft-war4.com/photos//200510066105.jpg)
Of course it does have kinda of a LSS/MASS look with the mag sticking out.
-
I love that M249 Christian! I've wanted one ever since they came out.
I hope you're on green on the 29th. :?
-
Paul, that's just downright awesome.
-
Not to bad, good work guys. You going to Park it? or just guncoat maybe?
-
Not to bad, good work guys. You going to Park it? or just guncoat maybe?
Neither.
It's a chunk of metal that holds a grip on. The pics I've seen of the "real" ones are just bare metal as well.
Like the other G Grips I've made for M4s, it looks like sh*t but works very well.
My RAS should be here any minute (take your time, UPS MAN - I got something waiting for you!) and that would allow me to use other grips, but I like the ergonomics of this better, especially with that giant plastic BOX under my weapon. This also allows me to use my bipod.
-
Very nice C-dog.
-
Thats a good looking SPR you got their bro. You still gonna put a Crane or Vltor stock on it?
-
Very nice Ganef!!! What was it before it was an SPR, and what are the internals like?
-
Since it was all custom, it was my shorty before I turned it into what it is. Well at least the gearbox was. Now I have my Vltor stock on it right now, because I have not worked out the wiring issue for the full stock yet and I must have some Mahhhs so I can plink in the back yard. The internals are as follows: PDI 180% spring, systema gears, sustema hopup, promethius 6.03mm X 509mm m16A1 barrel that I had to drill out the flash hider to make it fit I have a systema motor in it plus the systema bore up cylinder kit. I need to find a chrono so I can fine tune it before a game so it is legit. The metal body is G&P along with the spr front end. That is a harris bipod, and my carry handle off my AR-15 Hbar. I still need to put the charging handle back in, and get some nice glass for it. Oh and it needs paint....
-
Looks Like you need, or should get some higher scope rings or a mount base. Looks Good though. Perfect colors for this time of year in AZ.
-
Robby, you might want to put a BUIS on that LE blaster.
Question. Why the RIS if there's nothing on it?
Very nice, regardless.
D-Bo, that paintjob will work well.
-
Thanks C,
I'd would actually like to put a flip up BUIS on her. As for the RIS, I have big hands and prefer the beefier feel of the RIS with rail covers on it, that and it looks so cool. To be honest I dont know any rail accessories out there that I would actually use other then a battery box, but I have the large battery ran through the back and hidden in the hallowed out mag in the mag pouch.
Ganef, I dig the multicam paint job!
-
Dave, you gonna put a can on there?
-
Nice M14, Glad I could help
-
Thanks to Gixser, my M14 is done (the scope was the last thing I needed).
Is that a USGI bipod, or just a repro? And very, very nice. I love M14s.
-
Good question Delta. I'm 99.9% sure it's a repo, but one of those, you never know things. Said repo in the ad, but came with a bunch of markings on the box, came in a musty smelling wrapper, and the whole surplus feel.
-

That says it right there. Was there a 13-digit number anywhere on the packaging?
-
Ganef,
Love your paint jobs...always have. Is that C-dogs old SPR?
-
No, it was mine. Mugen's "friend" has C's old SPR.
-
Why'd you swap the old front hand grip you had?
It's creepy (Still cool) looking with what you've done to it...no bipod, m4 stock the batt box..Looks like an M4 on roids.
Which...I guess a 249 kind of is.
-
I've been meaning to ask you, what's with the 100mph tape on the grip?
-
I swapped the handguards for a RAS to mount the PEQ2, and grip, and a light when needed. VFGs are a must for anything that isn't bolt action or a pistol.
I took off the bipod to save weight. I'd never use it anyway.
I have a spare 9V battery in the grip compartment. The tape helps keep the trap door shut.
The M4 stock is the biggest improvement you can make to the M249 platform.
-
NIce gat. I like how you wore it down a little? what did you use? The back(rough) side of a kitchen sponge is great for putting wear on a gun.
-
Several questions????
Where are you housing your battery? If its in the PEQ what kind is it, and what battery are you using? How long does it last, and with whatever FPS you are using?
Is that an aftermarket rail or did it come with the gun?
Where did you get the old front hand grip?
Also Nice modstock!!! However, I still like the retrack stock it came with.
We should rename this thread called "Pimp My Gun"!!!
-
Several questions????
1. Where are you housing your battery? If its in the PEQ what kind is it, and what battery are you using? How long does it last, and with whatever FPS you are using?
2. Is that an aftermarket rail or did it come with the gun?
3. Where did you get the old front hand grip?
4. Also Nice modstock!!! However, I still like the retrack stock it came with.
We should rename this thread called "Pimp My Gun"!!!
1. My battery is in the AN/PEQ. It is a 1700 mAh 9.6v NiCd and it lasts approximately 1.5 box mags, or 3600 BBs. I also have a 2400 mAh 9.6v NiMH SAW pack that I'm going to reconfigure as an AN/PEQ pack. I also have the option of running the battery in the box mag.
2. It is a G&G rail from AEX. 80-something dollars. Unfortunately, The real Knights rail will not work on the airsoft SAW, so I had to get a fake. The G&G rail is nicely made, all rails are in-1913 spec, and it has a nice durable parkerized finish.
3. If you mean the Knight's VFG, I had it. If you mean the front-mounted SAW grip, I made it.
4. Everyone thinks the Para stock looks cool. I'm here to tell you that it's less-than-ideal when used practically. Shitty cheekweld, lack of adjustment, and TWICE the weight of the M4 stock arrangement. It's the reason the Army is issuing a New 249 stock through RFI. It's like an M4 stock, but fatter. I'll get some pics of it up soon.
I also have a Aimpoint Comp M2 replica with GI mount that I use on this beast, but it's on loan to a buddy for awhile.
You guys may think my SAW looks radical, but it's the way most dudes rock their 249. I've seen several regular infantry dudes with M4 stocks and EOTechs.
-
Robby, I'd add brown as the third color, although the camo you have there will be effective as is.
Come one, paint the whole gun! Everybody does it!
-
Looks pretty good. Did you build it from scratch? It looks like it.
You gonna paint it?
-
Yes.
When it is complete and back together I will post a complete Spec sheet.
-
It normally has an Aimpoint replica. I just threw that on because it was handy for the pics.
I bought that red dot primarily for the mount. Someday I hope to get the real PVS-14 (win a #&@#^ lottery)

Gotcha. If it's a real NOD, it's a PVS-14. TGS just calls their replicas TVS-14s.
-
It's been a long morning/day/last night............. I was up until 2:00 am working on guns.
Not even my own.

That's why we love, you Paul! 8)
-
did you have to quote every single picture? to get orange paint off, you paint over it, or go at it with some steel wool and paint thinner, followed by some paint retouching.
-
Very Nice! Drooling as always. Dave is to gear as you are to airsoft guns. Your like the weapon masta!
-
Vince, Gather as many pictures together of the guns you've done. I'm going to get that article done lol.
-
Wow Paul...that looks soooo sweet!
-
I think Vincent takes the cake this time man! WOW! That is excellent work!
-
Sick work Grenadier.
Aside from how nice it looks, the dedication to create something like that is over whelming.
Good job man.
-
Finally got it complete eh Vince. Good jorb. You roxors and all that. You know that out of all the people I met in 2005 you have impressed me the most!
-
Thanks guys!
It always helps to have the support of your friends to overcome difficult obstacles.
Right now im in the process of drawing up the plans for a regulated co2 powered 57mm recoilless rifle. Its going to be breach loading, and have the advantage of using seperate shells, rather than packing the bbs down the barrel like a potato gun. It will have its own bolt assembly that will be able to accept the shells, which will also have to be made in addition to the weapon. Each shell will be made out of 2in. steel tubing, and about 6in. long, with an aluminum rim at the back so it can be extracted by the bolt. There will be no need to gas up the shells, because the gas is stored in the gun, and upon firing, passes through the shell, and propells the bbs inside, down and out the barrel. Each shell (roughly the size of two soda cand stacked end on end) will be able to accept from 500 up to 1000 bbs each. And with a bunch of them, one after the other, thats alot of bbs. Howlers will also be albe to be loaded in the shells for a realistic "artilary" effect.
-
Great work, as usual. Is it gas powered?
-
Great work, as usual. Is it gas powered?
No dude..he actually crafted a gear box to fit in there..its an AEG sir..a really heavy yet Willis mounted AEG!!! There is nothing Grenadier cant do with machinery
-
Now you just need a tripod for it. :)
-

You definately have skills...
-
See, here's a guy who does it right the first time.
You can like, sand it off, maybe it will come off with paint thinner...get another one, whatever. I have a Phantom style that I could sell ya that I'm pretty sure'll go on there.

PM me if you want it.

Aww, I remember when my heater looked like that.
Check the AEG Optics 101 thead for the "after" pic, absent40

Nice one Absent...all you have to do is paint it.

What. ohh, Ian. Are you jealous... ;)
-
What. ohh, Ian. Are you jealous... ;)
Ian?
-
BeNN with two N's
-
There's absolutely nothing wrong with it...it would be nice to come into the sport with a thousand dollars worth of weapons.
-
Yea, but most of us spend the thousand on one instead of 7.
-
I have been builidng all them up over time it hasnt been like in the past 3 months. I have been collecting them for close to two years.
-
Okay...okay, Ganef is right...I am jealous. There...I've said it.
-
Nice, Line 6 makes great products. I'll put my pedal board up next time I snap shots off :P
-
Ha. You got the sights off a springer MP7. They are cool sights...too bad they aren't metal :(.
-

Actually those are the ones that come with the TM AUG.....but I do wish they were metal
-
wow... that's quite a collection...
-
It would make a very good sidearm for a sniper, due to their 50 foot no-kill zone.
-
Nothin like having a sidearm that takes the same mags as your primary.
-
Pryde, -did you bump up the cyclic rate, too?
Chip
-
Yeah, that project gun looks pretty sweet. I always thought an M4 would be pretty cool if an almost handheld version was made for it... alot like yours!
-

They actually make 'em allready, but they are expensive....or you can get conversion kits, they call 'em Patriot Pistols. Q-Project released one if I remember correctly, ran about $800.00 but it does look much better than mine.
-

Chip
Naw just ran it with a standard stock spring and a 9.6 batt, gives it a great rate of fire allready.

Didn't John Clark carry one in Clear and Present Danger (the movie)?
-
I forgot to mention that the Rail covers and Vertical Foregrip are genuine Knight's Armament.
Cheers.

I have no idea what you just said.
If you were implying that my support weapon is not to your liking, (http://www.getoffthex.com/images/custom/graemlins/flipa.gif).
An M4 stock on a SAW is not a new idea on my part, and it works damn well.

Yes Vince, but unlike him, you have my respect and are more than welcome to use this beast on the field of play.
;)
-
Now Sarge, you just need to grow your hair long, tie it with a headband, go shirtless with two bandoleers across your chest, wear a BIG fookin' knife, and yell...
"YO! Do we get to WIN THIS TIME???"
BTW, nice gat. :?
Chip
-
PFC Hagen has his finger on the trigger. BAD PRIVATE!!!!!
C...its a nice gat, but I'm not liking the M4 stock. I suppose I'd have to try it out before I can really make judgement on it.
-
Damn dude, hella nice Support weapon. I love the realism you added to it, too. I'd hate to get shot by that thing
How does it shoot by the way? I'm sure it's fires nicely....
About the M4 stock... hmm... not diggin' it too much either, honestly, but if it's what you like and if it suits you, then more power to you!
-
I like the M4 stock, It is easier to operate. And that is what counts to me.
-
nice, I gotta get that done on my wall... just too lazy/cheap/broke to do it right now.
-
I moved some posts. Ya'll got out-of-hand.
If you have a problem with that, PM me.
This is a thread to look at and discuss others AEG, within reason.
With regards to my 249:
It works very well for me. If you do not like it because of the way it looks, I can't help you. I build my guns for functionality, not to look nice.
-
nice, I gotta get that done on my wall... just too lazy/cheap/broke to do it right now.
Help me tech my guns some more and I'll help you do it....
What gun would look nice in place of that mp5?
-
Just got my new metal body today...
Is that a marushin m1? I love the M1 with a passion, and I would have bought an airsoft version if I didnt already own a real one. :)
Also, call me crazy, but is that an m79 I spy behind the spetz?
-
Oh.... crap.... that's beautiful... What ARE all of those?
-
Nice collection, I wish I had the money to expand mine a bit.

what brand ak is that, or did you just paint it/get real wood?
-
It's the JT 70-dollar AK. It's a Marui clone with a full-metal body and a full-plastic gearbox. But you can drop in a Version 3 gearbox, it fits perfectly. A full-metal AK for less than 300 bucks....

Yup! Pretty good deal, basically a full-metal body kit for 70 bucks.

where did you get that gear box warlock? and how much did it cost you?

He never said he had a version 3 gearbox, you made an assumption. I bet all you cheap bastards(oh no he didn't!!!) will be all over it as soon as he tells you where if he indeed has one :P .
-
Dave, is that STAR's "new" SOPMOD M14?
-
How'd you put an ELCAN on a non-railed feedtray cover, Dave?
That new Troy M14 replica looks nice!
-
Its not stars NEW sopmod but yes its a Stars M14
Stars first AEG was the M14 Sopmod it came out about 2 years ago but not for sale in the USA
There just now trickling down from the UK
-
Don't have pics yet, but don't have much of an armory either. Just my AK47 (same as mentioned above).... mooncruiser may tell you about it, and Spaz, and a few other guys....
for $70, its not a bad gun... but the fact that it has a plastic gearbox, identical to the version 3.... makes the power and durability matter an issue. But of course, you can drop one in, if you can find one. I havn't had any luck finding one (any more money that goes into my airsoft addiction is going into that gearbox :D), but if anyone knows where i can get one, or knows who is selling one, please let me know!
I AM a cheap bastard, i'm mexican (not to say all mexicans are broke, but you know what i mean, right? That is why i got that AK.... allthough i should have just bought the M9 first and fought with just that until i saved enough for the AK... a Tokyo Marui AK!!!
-

That new Troy M14 replica looks nice!
Lots of super glue,
I used a G3 mount
(http://www.i-gundrosen.com/bilder/softgun/M249/rail1.jpg)
-
Super Glue is Legit! 8)
-
Epoxy compound is better though... i would also say more professional. I fabricated a part of my car using Epoxy, and it is strong as hell! I HAD to make the part by hand because no parts stores carry it... nor the dealership. So, i cleaned up the part, got it down to bare metal, and strategically molded a brand new part that works great, and will hold for a long ass time. Try it out, i'd use the black epoxy for gun use.... pretty cool stuff...
Just mix the same amount of resin and hardener, and with a popsicle stick (or anything similar), gloop that shit where you want it, form it into where you want it, and wipe of the rest. Lets it sit in the sun, or give it plenty of time to dry off...
if you use it like crazy glue, then one application should be good enough... for those who has worked with epoxy, im sure you know how kick ass it is...
-
I am kidding. I use Fasteners and reinforcement plate on the bottom side
-

Looks good, Jeremiah.
Whats the breakdown on the 203s with regards to whats Marui and Gas?
-
M4 style only gas model. Others are TM 3 round burst (as you know) love those springer with 120' shots
-
Just wondering, is Jeremiah, or "JoJockAmo," the one from JungleToy?
-
Yes he is.
-
Purrty nice Ben
-
Looks good man, but I still think you should put the front sight post on.
-
Looks good man, but I still think you should put the front sight post on.
I am going to put on a flip-up front sight, and a rear flip-up BUIS.
Until then I don't feel like putting a front sight tower on.

Looks good, bro! With a few exceptions, that's how I wanted to build my next AR.
-
Well, there needs to be a gas block on there at least, something similar to mine.
-
Well, there needs to be a gas block on there at least, something similar to mine.
Thats what ive been thinking, just a low-profile gas block.
-
You could do what I did and cut down the gas block so that it sits inside the rail.
-

You don't have a gas block, Mikey. You cut your front sight post.
Ben, didn't that front-end kit come with a gas block and gas tube? I also recall seeing a Knight's Brake. Don't like the looks of it?

It did come with a front sight post and and gas tube, i just dont have them on ATM. The Knights brake wouldn't allow an inner barrel to stretch through it, so thats why I needed the different brake. (an M4 length inner barrel is just a tad longer then the outer barrel)
-
no those arent mine
-
I was gonna say....
-
I see classics!!!
-
Well...I don't think all of those are airsoft guns, I bet most of those are real steel.
-
Those belong to a guy named Donny on Arnie's Airsoft, he's in England so I doubt any of those real.

You know there is probably an entire team out in the field somewhere wondering where their weapons are...

Fixed that for you :)

Ive always kind of liked short AKs. Except for the funny looking flash hiders.
I while ago, I was going to buy a spetsnaz from someone and turn it into a Bizon. The Bizon would probably have to be my favorite AK varient, but unfortunatley the guy sold it out from under me.
-
I have a full metal Spetz you can buy.

I while ago, I was going to buy a spetsnaz from someone and turn it into a Bizon. The Bizon would probably have to be my favorite AK varient, but unfortunatley the guy sold it out from under me.
If your interested, here is a picture of a Spetz already converted to a Bizon. http://www.airsoftcommunity.co.uk/galle ... CF2070.JPG (http://www.airsoftcommunity.co.uk/gallery/albums/userpics/10263/normal_DSCF2070.JPG)

Really.
If you had actually seen and experienced the complexity and ingenuity of
its groundbreaking magazine design first hand, your oppinion may suggest otherwise.
Personally, I may believe that certain weapons are not to my likings, but I try not to ridicule other peoples' choices among them. For example; I personally dont wish to own any sort of m16 varient weapon airsoft or otherwise, and even that dosent stop me from encouraging other people toward them when they ask what weapon they would like/perfer/have/or otherwise.
Each to his own I guess.
Try to keep an open mind about things. And dont always believe what it seems like on a video game.

I honestly don't care.
I posted this pic only as a refrence to an already converted AIRSOFT Bizon if you were interested.
Obviously not.

Oh! Im sorry.
I do appologize.
It may have been a glitch or somthing. Alot of strange things were happening to the forums last night. For example, whenever I was trying to edit a post, it would for some reason create a whole new post along with the one I had edited. And for some other strarange reason, Im wasnt able to delete my posts anymore. When I first read your post and clicked on the link and for some unknown reason, it linked it to a pic of a bunch of gay cowboys, I may have taken it the wrong way.
Nice pic though now!
Once again, Im sorry for the outburst.

Well, this turned out pretty crazy  . No problem man. I'm glad we got this deal cleared up. Thanks for the apology! I am also sorry for that bit of inconsiderate sarcasm.

Welcome to the family!
-
Thanks, Ganef...I feel loved.
I really like this pistol, there are just a few things I need. Gotta get rid of those sights... and I really need to get higher capacity mags.
-
ghey springer, dude.
-
There's a forum for that, Ian.
You damn boys are going to make me buy a Glock when I get to Hood aren't you?!

Nice M249, I love those things, say, where so you find those kinds of guns, and do you get them new or used?

pretty much any major on line airsoft store has them.

Stoner, as in Eugene Stoner. He's the designer of the Ar variant. I don't smoke, jackass!

I know i'm a jackass, especially since i didn't know who Stoner was... i'm not a history guru. And didn't mean to say it like that. I was sure you DIDN'T smoke, that's why it caught my attention. I was like, "wait a tick..."

It sure as heck aint pink, it is a 2:1 mixture of woodland tan and woodland brown duracoat from www.rmpgunworks.com (http://www.rmpgunworks.com)
-
Maybe you should adjust your monitor's hue and luminance settings. On a correctly calibrated CRT/LCD, it should show up as PMS 135 on the Pantone scale, which is a tan.
-
Was That the same rifle you had at the paintball field a few weeks ago? if so it'd look good if you did a simple 3 color scheme like the bdu's. Not that multicam is bad it's just not used at national ops yet (that I am aware of).
-
It is the same gun and the only changes that were made to it was the addition of a folding front sight, rail covers, a folding rear sight and the optic. The only thing that is painted differently is the optic and the front sight. I do believe shadow was going to be sporting multicam untill they did away with it for LCV, not that multicam should be any part of the conversation because the gun is not painted multicam, I am the only one with my airsoft guns painted even close. I did a MC paint job on nates real gun and it looks mighty fine, but MC is not for everyone.
-
yah, I brought up multicam, cause it seems to be the hot ticket lately - it looks good, and I know it shoots good lol - i got shot with it - but like i said it'd look real good 3 color instead of just that color.. it's sorta strange looking right now.

Its camo'd to spec. Thats Megaforce issue carpet.
-
Looks nice... Does that sight have any magnification? And it does match the carpet quite well... Did you paint it on the carpet? ;)
-
Shit, man. Nice gat!
-
Dang. Nice gear too, there's a "sexy gear" thread that hasn't been bumped in a while. Post some pics of your gear.
-
You ruined that gun, Matt.
-
If it was really that bad, why bother telling me?
-
Because it had to be said.
-
How is this any worse than the other painted rifles on this board?
-
You ruined that gun, Matt.
Plus a fuckin' billion.
Just paint over it with some tan there. ;)
-
It looks fine, Hav.
-
I'd take the time and give it a really good base coat. Either OD or Khaki. It will get rid of that spotty look. After that, you can spray it any other color you want....just my opinion.
-
Dont forget the buffer tube : ) A nice puke color, somehow I feel that the picture doesn't do it justice. Its your gun Hav, paint it how you like it. Some time I will paint my new gun...........
-
It had fucking battle wear from tuning Tan Charlie pussies at LC3, LC4, and numerous AA games. It was the gun Anthony held when he helped capture Col. McKnight at LC3, and was the gun I used at my first game back from Active Duty.
It's your heater, you do what you want. It had character, that's all.
Cheers.

-
i was thinking of getting a Tm M14. Just wanted to know if its worth the price, or if i should buy something eles.
-
Dust,
How about a pic of all of your classics?
-
I'd keep the light, it looks really cool with a short barrel. Only ditch it if its really heavy. Supressor has gotta go though.
I'm curious as to why you went with a RAS 2 versus going with a regular RAS. All that RAS2 did was get in your way from having a long solid rail(you could have put a rail sleeve on there, which woulda been way cooler, I think), and limit where you can put optics(you could also argue that it gives you a specific spot for optics, but in my opinion it won't be the best for the invidual shooter).
-
No doubt, the light looks cool. But I'd rather remove it because it's dead weight during most day skirmishes.
It's bright as fuck though. I flashed it in my friend's eyes last night... he couldn't see shit for like five seconds.
As for the RAS II. I suppose it's just personal opinion. I think it looks awesome... far better than any rail sleeve.
-
Rail sleeves are extra gay, they change the mount height of optics, and they just suck.
Also, I dunno about that little RAS fix unit. There's no wobble to begin with, and it restricts the amount of options you have with which to use your devices. I'm not down with restriction of options with no visible benefit.
-
That's the reason I was looking at the EOTech that uses the N batteries instead of the AA.
I get both of your points. It certainly does restrict the amount of RAS I have to mount an optic but nevertheless, I like the look of it.
-
, I like the look of it.
;) That's all that matters
-
Nice kit man. [smilie=armata_pdt_34.gif]
Is this gonna be your primary weapon? I remember you said it would be a backup, but a G&P seems kinda pricey for a backup weapon.
-
Ha, like half of those guns have something to do with me.
Good stuff, Paul, see you tomorrow.
-
That Sniper G36 is sick! ANd i remember your P90.... 8)
-
Paul,
You have a great selection. I also like that G36....do you have an up close of that one?
-
Nice gun vince, I like the stock on it now. It gives it a much better apperance.
Irishsniper, I don't think you've had a gun quite like his before. And post in the discussion thread.
-
Looks good, Ian. I like the armory number and 20 rd magazine.
(2000th post! Woot!)
-
I was thinking about changing the "armory number". Not sure what I'll put though. The 20 round magazine...just...looks appropriate with the style of weapon.
Raith, are you planning on painting the CQB? Or are you going to leave it as is?
-
Raith, are you planning on painting the CQB? Or are you going to leave it as is?
Yes, I'll paint it. It won't look like it does now, though. I have lots of external changes planned.
-
I'm going to paint mine too. I'm starting it today. I plan to take 3-4 days on it, so I should have pics up before the AA game. I don't really have any external plans for it other than a nice flashlight since I have found a group that does a lot of night games.
I like that suppressor Raith. Are you going to stick with the crane stock, or do the ready mag or battery box route?
-
I like that suppressor Raith.
Its not a supressor. Its a KX3 Noveske flash hider.
Kurn, that is a really cool sling mount.
-
Thanks. So far I'm very pleased with it.
-
Whew... Hoff, yeah, paint the whole thing.
It'll look alright if the whole thing is painted, but right now it looks like you decided to throw up on selected parts of the gun. :P
-
I am a fan of using 2 tone on things Gantaliano Hoff, but for that camo pattern I think the whole thing painted would look better.
-
Are you going to paint the rest of your gun Nate? I like the two tone looks it has. It's very distinctive, kinda looks like you had to change out the upper at the last moment or something.
-
Kurn, that paint job is good to go.
What colors did you use and what was your technique?
-
Thanks. It was really simple to do. I used Krylon brown and khaki (from their camouflage line). First I painted the entire gun using the khaki. I then lightly dusted it in random spots with the brown. The whole process took about 15 minutes. A lot of the brown has come off already, which has kinda given the whole thing a patchy look. I’ve seen Krylon paint do this before, I think it’s because the paint dries before it get to the gun, since it dries so quickly.
On a side note the Krylon camouflage paint is at Wal-Mart for $4 a can, which is $2 cheaper then what Ace sells it for.
-
Good job Jamie...
-
Nate get some tan rail covers on that thing...
Great job jamie!
-
Nate get some tan rail covers on that thing...
Great job jamie!
Six covers are on the way.
-
Damn, Ian. I can't see it! Blends in with the wall!
Details. Is that a midlength rail? What company, or did you build it yourself?
-
Base gun was a Classic Army M4. I threw on a midlength RAS by King Arms, and a 14.5 inch barrel, removed the collapsable stock, and threw on a G&P A2 stock. I basically resurrected it from a completely ruined gun. Only thing left on the inside that is CA is my body, gearbox case, and some of the wiring stuff. Everything inside the gearbox, minus the wiring and switches is systema. The spring needs to be replaced, it has been compressed due to battery failure(I just realized it was compressed) since the 29th game.
-
Holy friggin crap John!! You can't hide a nice gun like that! It's not right!
You put some character into it too. I like it. Everyone seems to be getting the CQBR right now, so you have to put a little individual charachter into em. Very nice.
-
You know. I just started noticing. Is everyone getting that new model foregrip now? I got one a long time ago and now they're all popping up. I can't even remember who makes it. Do you guys know?

Hey alex nice G3's. Those are great guns out on the field. Finaly another G3 lover!!!
-
Yeah the G3's kick ass, and that particular one is my pride and joy. Do you have a G3 IcePlatinum Sky? If so, I'd like to see some pics, dont really ever see too many around....
-
Yes I have a G3 SG1 with the classic army light metal body. I converted the front end over for a silencer. Thats realy the only difference. But, I dont have pics other than camra phone.

And Vince said it would look assy. Good job Art. That looks pretty sweet.

Very nicely done Art. Also, +1 for actually taking the time to do the painting right, what with the priming and all.

Your forums were slow and i was alt+tab'ing between pages because my multitasking is pretty on it.
next time you should either edit the posts yourself or ask me like a responsible adult instead of being a jerk about it. i'm not a kid. i don't treat others like that even on my forums.
you want to talk? PM, email or call me on the phone. John Figueroa has my number.
P.S.
i just realized why i did that. it was during LC5 and there was a whole lot of non-topic ranting going on without moderation. i was trying to bleed that out and get it off the last page status to hopefull kill it off.
P.P.S.
NONE of those are the same weapon.

I'll second that. You may want to think twice about making a balsy comment to Liquidsky if you don't know him. He doesn't have a problem speaking his mind in your face. I witnessed it at its fullest at a game in Cali and heard a few interesting stories. He definitely is the opposite of communist. We'll just say he's well known in that part of the country.
By the way, he's putting on an awesome game the 17th if anyone is in Socal this weekend. It's gonna be big.

I didn't know who he was, I'm hearing now he's a cool guy. I don't take back what I said, but I appologise for saying it in the manner it was said.
And what check did I write, Dave? Did I say I was going to do anything about it? No. It wasn't internet bravery, it was merely talk, and it wouldn't happen in real life, because the situation wouldn't have happen in real life.
-
This isnt real life? Ah Crap, then there is no spoon. Skyler was right!
Back on topic, Vince now you cant paint that gun due to the trade factor. Still, it looks very nice.
Was that your CA CQB that you put an HK body on?
-
It's a full HK416 conversion kit.
I'm going to refinish the whole rifle and then re-paint the trades.
Ironically, I have every piece necessary in my house, right now, to copy Jeremy Miller's HK416 as well :D
Skylar's always right. McGee's Marauders! OUT.
-

:D
Better hurry, Vince. I've got a set of Troy BUIS, and a Larue LT 1.93 on order...and I'm leaning on G&P to send me one of their IR PEQ-2 replicas. It'll go nicely with my ANVIS-6's when my guy finishes getting them built. :D
Nice looking 416 though...gotta shed that Krink though...it does nothing on a gas piston system on a real rifle. ;)
-Jeremy
(Gearwhoring in the NW since 1998)
-
That's what I thought, but POF uppers ship with Krink brakes and I've seen some AR15 pictures of people with LW uppers with Krink brakes, and the LW rifle I handled at SHOT had a Krink brake on it, so, who knows.
The KX3 is good because on real rifles, it directs all flash and noise forward of the shooter. I dunno, until I read otherwise, I'm gonna keep it on there (and it's like, the best airsoft suppressor).
I don't think I'll EVER have any NODs...but I could borrow an IWAL-2 and put it inside my current PEQ and, well, I can order replica Troy BUIS :D
Nah, I like my rifle now it is now.

Hey Vince, how's that PGC gearbox working out?
-
I would've been more than happy to trade that piece of crap for the 552. ;)
Wait, I meant, that's a nice gun, is it a SOPMOD M14? (I'm tired, can't think straight...)
-
Yeah, m14 sopmod, got it from gixer13.
I was like, one iota from trading it for the sig, but at the last minute decided to keep it.
-
Is that.... No, it can't be... Is that a Maruzen MP5-K? If it is, I'd be your servant for life if you'd give me some or all of those mags. :D
And azmjs, do I detect a hint of sarcasm? ;)
-
Looks like an AEG to me. Don't the Maruzens have a hollow pistol grip?
pilz, how did you mount that m4 stock? It looks like a neat setup.
-

pilz, how did you mount that m4 stock? It looks like a neat setup.
Its a Tm Mp5k. The m4 stock was put on by a friend but i know how to take it off and how it works, First you have to take the buttplate off and take out the sling mount there should be a little washer thing that holds the sling mount in, its hard to get off but it comes off. The you take a M4 stock with the stock screw and you stick the stock screw into the buttplate
then you put a nut on the end of it and tighten it. then thats how you get a m4 stock on a mp5k.
-
Nice AK but did you have to use an In 'n' Out burger for reference? Just looking at that juicy burger is making me hungry for a 4x4 with no cheese (yes i know it doesnt make it a 4x4 without the cheese )

N/p. Thanks for the comment--appreciate it much. I hope to get it upgraded once I finally get a real job, but it's nice just the way it is.

Probably auto focus on his digital camera. Macro setting will focus clearly on the foreground and blurr out the area farther away.
-
nice type 89.
-
thanks. it really is a very nice gun. only problem is the stick battery. i'll have to get around that somehow.
-
hows the burst working out? and is it metal?
-
yes, it has a metal body. anything that is metal on the real steel is metal on this. the burst is great.
-
So... you going to be at the game saturday? I want to see this thing... then see if an Escort version would be possible ;)
-
cant make it on the 22nd, but i'll bring it out on the 29th. might not be 'combat ready' by then though. im low on funds.
-
Where does the battery go?
-
It's a stick, so I assume a dust cover of some sort is removed from the received.
-
And aren't metal recievers illegal in Japan?
-
i don't think they are, or they wouldn't have made it metal.

Seph, are you gonna rewire it to the stock? Or just keep it the way it is?
-
keeping it the way it is for now. it works fine so why mess with it?
my dick is a type 89, sugar.....
and i've said it before, and i'll say it again. bsadk4life needs to go.
-
Does battery voltage affect the burst of the gearbox like it did with the SIG 550?
-
Does battery voltage affect the burst of the gearbox like it did with the SIG 550?
From everything I have read, that hasn't been tested. I'd think not becuase of the fact that its supposedly a mechanical burst.
-
That's what I thought. And BOOM, you forgot gasoline.
-
That's what I thought. And BOOM, you forgot gasoline.
yea, thats what he used to get off the paint.
-
Lol.
Oh yeah.
Thanks guys.
-B00M!
-
nice m4 Brando, that looks like a kick ass support gun.
-
that shrike is SOLID!!!, i like it better than a 249, once you get that motor it should be great, and that thing hurts..., but its a very good gun.
-
You should lose the Delta Force silencer. It's not made for big guns.
-
its hiding a tightbore currently
-
Brando, that is a sweet gun. Very nice.
Pryde, you have a great selection. I didn't know you had so many.
-
Pryde, you have a great selection. I didn't know you had so many.
Yeah, MP5s have become a bit of a hobby of mine since CYMA released theirs for $100
-
kinda off topic...
pyrde know you already have a sd5, but do you want mine for $210 its a CA.
-
I'd be interested, but I doubt I'd have the funds until after the holiday season passes....thanks for the offer though
.....now back to your regularily scheduled program.....
-
Ribs, bravo on your CQB.
I really like it!!
-B00M!
-
somting wierd, my CQB with the battery and flash hider weighs than than that gun with the ACOG M203 and battery. i think my gun is a little hevy.
-
Looks very similar to my CQB. One day I will post pics.
-
Thanks. I like it. The funny thing is is that the only thing that is left that is from the original gun is the gearbox internals, besides the spring and cylinder.
-
R u gonna leave it stock????
-
R u gonna leave it stock????
-
I already have an AK tightbore, KM cylinder, and Guarder SP110 spring. Plus, it's a G&P based gun, so everything else should be fine.
-
Yea, I have the G&P version myself. Although, I kept the Marine receiver on mine.
-
So, babybackribs... Where do you live again? And what time will you be gone with the gun in the house? ;)
(It looks awesome)
-
OKay here is my new spraying partner.
Just kidding, actually its just something I've wanted for looks. I don't like winding mags, and I don't like standards. I now most people do not like drum mags but to each his own.

Ugh. Man, I know you don't like to aim your gun and stuff, and even though I liked the idea of a super-hi-capacity, auto-winding mag, it looks kinda ugly.
You should give it to me instead.
-
Meh I still have my other mags, and it looks allitle different up close.
-
I think it'd look fine if it was longer, scopeless, and the rest f your gun wasn't so shiny. Or maybe it's just the lighting.
-
Meh I still have my other mags, and it looks allitle different up close.
Unless it radically changes how unrealistic and silly the whole endeavor is by moving the point of view a foot forward, my opinion is still the same.
You took a nice gun and made it look retarded.

-
Ok....so it was a joke. Your gun still looks gay. C'mon a drum mag on a AK!? Not to mention the big o'l scope on it. Try looking at real steele photos of AK's and see if you can make it look like the real deal. Then maybe people wouldn't give you such a hard time.
Look at some of the pictures of the guns posted by vets. Their guns look just like the real steele versions. They get their ideas from real steele. Although some still look gay.
-
or you could sell it and buy a CQB
-
Now he doesn't deserve this kinda criticism. It looks bad, you guys say it's unrealistic, but it's his gun.
Holy sh*t, I have an AK-74 and I use AK-47 standards in it. Maybe one day I'll also get a drum mag. It's a personal choice and since it's not your AEG, you oughta shut up and keep your own gun the way you want it, not to everyone else's standards.

Meh I'm interested in everyones opinion. I'm the type of person that if I wake up one day and decide my gun looks like shit I'll take everything off and go to a game with it naked. I like the way it look, and I like the feel of the drum mag on my gun. Always wanted one. I just ignore chainsaws dump sh!t posts because their worthless to me and waist my time.
-
Why do people seem to atack the Marauders? What's wrong with 'em?
-
Sometimes I wish AA had a Facial hair requirement or something.
Damn kids.
+1 to Vince's "GTFO"
-
honestly i don't see anything wrong with his gun unless you're jelous of it. it looks perfectly fine, and since you don't have to play with him i don't see why all of you are so f****** mad. Keep in mind hes 15 and your all adults. [-X

I totally ROFL at that one.
But fish if your going for the real deal look you might want to drop all that gear off your weapon and use it on something that actually uses it IRL. Otherwise if you like it and can ignore everyones opinons and laughs go for it.
-
Your really starting to piss me off.
-
:-( I enjoyed looking at the pictures of the guns. You guys are making fools of yourselves.
Just post pics.
-
I guess all some care about it slinging plastic down range....nothing wrong with that. They'll come around, but they'll be a price to pay on the forum so get some tough skin.

Nicely put Benn. Come on guys, you are on a board with people who do milsim. You can't expect to post a pulse rifle and a smart gun here without getting laughed at. You kids crack me up
-
So I guess the "no hicap" and "no drum mag" rule at SWPB never took effect?
-
yep
-
heres another look at my guns, the CQB has changed a little, i got rid of those tan rail covers and got magpul ones and a SPR grip.
Sexy. What else are you planning on getting for those guns 'o yours?
-
not sure, probaly just a red dot for the CQB, and a tightbore. Besides that im not sure.
-
I like how you kept your CQB all black, its got that tactical look.
-
I like how you kept your CGQ all black, its got that tactical look.
What the fuck is a CGQ?
-
Carbine, Gentlemen's Quarterly
It's kind of like the Army classification system : helmet, fixed-wing aviation. I think he's saying it's a gun for metrosexuals (which I don't necessarily echo).
-
Sorry, Sorry, I keep mispelling sh!t, I didn't mean to  .
EDIT: You see, I'm on these pills here...
-
With all of these new gun creations popping up, Im just going to stop asking the obvious question, Why......
-
It's a REAL GANGSTER grip.
-
It's a REAL GANGSTER grip.
HAHA! yeah if you're talking about the one on my M4, I put it there cause the M203 plus if i have it at my waist the grip works great.
-
bowite you have the same grip as i do, and also your m4 is nice, but that ak is kinda ugly it looks to red.
-
ROFL!!
"A fucking pile of gay."
That made my day.
I think drum mags look good on the "select few." An AKS74UN does not qualify as the "select few."
You're gun just looks proportionally off-balance.
Please loose the optic as well.
-B00M!
-
Bowtie, sorry, but if you need that much firepower for an airsoft gun to make it worth your while playing, then you should just stop right now. Personally, I think anybody that needs a box or drum mag for airsofting should really re-examine if they should be playing. Plus, spraying and praying with a box mag WHILE blind firing at the last Ramadi Tales game was just gay.
-
There's always the role of support.
-
Support should only be done by support weapons. I.E. M249, M60

SAW means Squad Automatic Weapon, Therefore, a m249, m60 etc etc are all Saw's.. ;)
-

This doesn't apply to airsoft unless you're a freak for realism. If you can turn a goddamn AK into a sniper rifle, you can sure as hell turn it into a hi-capacity support weapon as well.

This is an unfortunate error in your fundamental psychology as pertaining to airsoft.

I second Vince's comment. Most of us Airsoft for MilSim, the people who don't are generally heckled privately and shot alot at games...
-

If realism doesn't matter to you, then why don't you go and play paintball? AK sniper rifle=Dragunov, AK support=RPK, M4 sniper rifle=SPR, M4 support=nothing
-

If you think Airsoft is not a bunch of freaks for realism or Milsim? Your in the wrong hobby/sport my friend!
It's like Farslayer said, they'll eventually come around. And your comment is correct also Busta. Heckled privately and shot at a lot at games....!
-
And pilz, please, for the love of God, vacuum your carpet.

I second Vince's comment. Most of us Airsoft for MilSim, the people who don't are generally heckled privately and shot alot at games...

And true. Bonusballing ain't just for paintball.
That being said, I fire in semi auto only with lots of delay between shots.
-
Being the noobish outsider here I'd have to say that realism is very important, but it's not absolute.
If you can alter your weapon in a way that looks real/official then it really wouldn't matter if that's the way it look in real life.
Now when you alter your weapon in a way that draws instant negative attention to your modification then you're probably in trouble, and you should repent profusely. ;)

Well technically you can make a real gun look like his ridiculous AK setup.
I mean I'm not saying his gun is retarded, just that it's not practical.... Hey if someone can build an m4 with an assload of rails and accessories why not an AK?

-
Cuz AK's aren't supposed to have an "assload" of accessories on them.
-
Even I have to pipe in on this one. I personally think the gun looks retarded but, I dont have to carry it. I thought it looked retarded before the drum with the big silver scope on it. Again, Im not carrying it.
We all have to take into consideration his age and what we all thought was cool at that age/maturity level. I am sure he will come around someday, realize how damn stupid it looks and strip it.
-
Well if you watch many action movies, there is always some asshole running around with a gun full of worthless mods... Like a scope on an MP5k
-
And a drum mag on an M4. Which brings me back to my original point: People who need drum and box mags for their guns should quit right now, except for people with M249's, M60's, etc...

Aren't supposed to?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
-------
The realism is what I like about airsoft, but I'm not a Communist (anymore) about it. Maybe buying a drum mag is more worth your money than a sh*tload of standards or hi's. It's easier to carry, and just because you can carry 3000 rounds doesn't mean you will. I've always played against Fish because we always just ended up on different teams, and at no point in time did he blindfire (to other post) nor did he ever spray excessively (unless the guy was right in front of him). His gun setup is fine. He said he's going to take off the scope at the next game he's attending, so you guys can breathe easier.

OMG that ugly ak blinded me!!!

Well, duh, it's got a bunch of accessories on it as an example. The point was to show that and AK can and is, in real life, totally accessorized.

My point exactly. AK's with a bunch of accessories look weird. And I think that people with drum mags have an unfair advantage over people who don't.
-
And a drum mag on an M4. Which brings me back to my original point: People who need drum and box mags for their guns should quit right now, except for people with M249's, M60's, etc...
Some people can't afford to dish out $900 for an M249 or $500 for an M60, so to get somewhat of the same MG effect they get a Box/drum mag for a lot cheaper. You should wait till your'e even old enough for AA games before you tell other people to "quit".
-

Actually at the time i wasnt blindfiring. It was a see through tarp So i was looking at you guys while shooting. I do admit it was very cheap to do but i didnt want to pop around the corner because matt was right there with his weapon ready. It was a spur of the moment thing so my apologies
-
Why do you even need a box mag? Hip shooting, spray and pray, and blind firing aren't exactly welcomed in the world of airsoft. That's why people use sights to hit people.
-
Why do you even need a box mag? Hip shooting, spray and pray, and blind firing aren't exactly welcomed in the world of airsoft. That's why people use sights to hit people.
First off at the ramadi tales game, did you see me hold it at the hip? NO! In fact has enybody EVER seen me hold that weapon at the hip? NO! I have done it at small backyard games just for fun. And i have blindfired a total of one time at an organized event. I need a box mag to make it somewhat of a support weapon. Like i said im not able to dish out almost a grand on one gun.
-
But your M4 looks like it cost that much.
-
Wow, stop arguing on the internet, Ribs. It's retarded.
I like your gun collection, Bow-Tie. Kick-f*cking-ass. My bud has the same wood kit. Only downer about it, IMO, is that the pistol grip is a bit fat at the top, and that the wood is finished so nicely it starts to slip easier.

But your M4 looks like it cost that much.
with the M203 and internals, yes. But it took months and months of putting that gun together , spending $240 on the gun then $80 on the mag I was set for another six months before i got the RIS and some of the internals. Plus im just talking gun and mag when i mentioned that not all people could afford an m249, i dont use both the box and m203 at once, that was just for the pic.
My M4 with interrnals, mag, and ris= $550
CA M249 w/o Drum mag= i belive its $850-$900
Big diff. up to $350
-
I'm just saying that I don't think box mags are practical. A couple of hicaps could do the trick, even as a support weapon. But hey, to each his own.
-
Bow Tie WTF do you have that foregrip on the side of the gun for? Just end your life.

Maybe he thinks its a Sten type gun, or he just likes the feel, again this is his gun...

I'm planning on doing that to a G&G UMP. *pause* B*TCH.
I like that look.

We already went over this.
It's ganster, dog

might as well have bought a CA M249..And it would have been 100x. better.

the only circumstance that should allow you to have a foregrip on the siderail is if you made an m56 smart gun.

It's a REAL GANGSTER grip.
HAHA! yeah if you're talking about the one on my M4, I put it there cause the M203 plus if i have it at my waist the grip works great.
It's for hip support. The gun probably weighs 20 pounds.
-
Edit: Woops, double post.
-
No it doesn't weigh 20lbs ....
-
I would say 10lbs max, because the gun isn't all steel and the box mag is plastic.
-
Still, it's like holding an 18 wheeler.
-
WOW, all this because I posted a pic of my new drum mag?? WTF? you guys need to calm down! I can do what I want to do. And I didn't get a drum mag because I dont have enough BBs, but because I like them. Just because my gun isn't something a russian soldier would hold, it deosn't mean I'm don't like milsim.
-
might as well have bought a CA M249..And it would have been 100x. better.
I dont think so. Id put my M4 against any 249 anyday of the week. Im talking just the gun and box mag not the m203.
-

I wouldn't. Can you fire your whole box mag in one continuous burst without getting worried? SAWs don't have V2 gearboxes because V2 gearboxes are the weakest, mechanically.
-
Bow Tie WTF do you have that foregrip on the side of the gun for? Just end your life.
Id rather end yours.
-
Shut the fuck up.
The grip on the side of the gun is gay, but if he likes it that way, fine.
-
Woah now everyones getting flamed for "customizing" their gun the way they want; everyone is being so critical :x I'm glad I didn't post pics of my gun...it's a G36K with an RAS unit and box mag

No, but id feel more than comfortably aginst an m249 with my m4. with its internals its got a great rof and slightly higher than stock fps. plus ibelieve an m249 would run out of ammo before i would. To end the argument about the grip, I put it there for the F***ing picture, it was just for kicks and giggles and i never have it there during games, no biggy.

Atleast we can debate without getting flamed up or cussing up a storm.
Try ending my life in person I would like to see that very much So :)

I dunno, 2,500 rounds is a lot of ammunition.
-
I dunno, 2,500 rounds is a lot of ammunition.
and 5000 rounds is double that
you guys can bash my gun all you want, i could care less, im done posting on this topic.
-
This has inspired me to buy an M249 So i can unload on people.
-
The point is, that anything past 5,000 is kind of superfluous...besides which, what sort of magazine storage do you have? With the SAW and MAG box mags, you can carry multiple magazines and deploy them quickly. I was the Assistant SAW Gunner at LCV for our squad and the SAW was reloadable in about 25 seconds. In the end, the SAW will be realistic and the M4 with the box mag is for gamers.

I'd pay to see that 'fight'.
-
Ill put the mini against that... whatever it suposed to be, any day....
-
might as well have bought a CA M249..And it would have been 100x. better.
I dont think so. Id put my M4 against any 249 anyday of the week. Im talking just the gun and box mag not the m203.
I happen to have a CA249 and I'd take it over your m4/whatever it is. I would put it against your m4. :P
-
2,500 rounds is plenty of ammo, even for a support gunner. 5,000 is just over kill. I don't even use that much in 3 games.
-
Im just curious, why does everyone paint their gun... most of turn out ugly and then you f$3*ed. Except like AK's and m14's which turn out nice 99% of them time.

Camouflage is important, and black does not occur in nature.
-
(http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a210/coyotetac/P5160003.jpg)
That is dead sexy, painted guns are the heat, black guns and gear are for nOObs.
-
Camouflage is important, and black does not occur in nature.
What about burnt leaves.... (sarcasm)
I know lots of people put down black gear but I like it. I haven't had an issue with someone seeing me because it either- although I don't wear a big bulky black vest or anything. Now I have painted guns before and they are sexy, but the upkeep is a pain and repainting isn't my idea of fun and it kinda wears on the gun IMO.
Not pushing any views here, but I will concur that camoflauge is important.
-
A friend of mine is doing a SWAT impression. And his gear,BDUs, and helmet, are all black. The only "pro" is that it looks cool. But then all the cons: its hot, can't hide, you can be spotted from a mile. But then again you can be spotted with most BDUs.
-
I don't have black gear, but I do have a black gun. I don't plan on painting it at all because painted guns look like shit. And I know that black does appear in nature, but painted guns don't. Painted guns always turn out to be like a blob of color. But hey, you guys don't care about our opinions anyways.
-
Multi cam guns and DIGI guns are the SH*T
-
Yeah you’re right, guns don’t appear in nature, but we are not talking about object we are talking about colors. Depends on who does the paint job. A lot of the guys on here do a great job, like Ganef's gun up top, but there are those that just spray crap on their gun as well.
-
And I know that black does appear in nature
NATblackURE
- He's right.
-------
- I have a black AK-74, and although it looks pretty great the way it is, I'd love a nice dark red wood kit on it 'cause the metal parts get HOT after only an hour (and I wear gloves and a full-sleeve Urban Camo (yeah, Urban) shirt), and I'd never paint it any other color because of the maintenance and money involved.
- Camo on guns, I believe, isn't something that is essential. It's more for the look, if anything. Suppose you're in the desert wearing desert camo and you're crouching on the ground trying to avoid contact with the enemy. Do you honestly think that the enemy will spot a tiny splinter of the black of your gun if he glances in your general direction for a moment? Most likely not, if you take into account how your eye likes to blend everything you see together; the textures of the dirt, the colored rocks, and the local vegetation should help. (this obviously wouldn't work if the guy was two feet in front of you, but if you're AVOIDING contact you'd know better than to get into that kinda situation).
A lot of the guys on here do a great job, like Ganef's gun up top ...
- And, yeah, Ganef's gun is schweet. For some odd reason I don't oppose camo on a sniper whatsoever.
-
I like some of the painted guns. If the person put alot of effort and skill into it they look really cool. Adding effects like leaf and twig cut-outs. Ganef's gun would be damn hard to see if he was in a hidden postion.
-
Anyone want to paint my gun for free? :D
Painted guns pwn, when done properly. And mine needs a new paint job. (The black looks like crap, starting to wear in spots... I think someone tried to use a crayon to touch it up.)
-

I do have a bit of a grudge against painted MP5s because they just dont seem to look right painted up like you are going to hunt elk with your oversized 9mm pistol. I paint all my guns and not just my airsoft guns, because I like them painted.
but the upkeep is a pain and repainting isn't my idea of fun and it kinda wears on the gun IMO.
Some of the coolest paintjobs I have seen are ones that have worn away due to use, none of that spray on and wipe off crap I am talking aobut a metal body brought to a polish by the caress of a human hand.
All in all it sounds like you guys need to learn how to spray paint properly, get rid of your pussitis and paint your dang guns!

I'm glad all the AK and M14 owners have pilz approval. That totally made my night.
Until you actually goto a real airsoft game, you can't understand how the littlest things can grab your attention to the guy in full multicam walking behind those bushes. A glimmer, maybe a scope is reflecting the sun? But the most noticible thing after Safety Orange, is black.

As for black guns, I would never paint my AK. Have you ever seen a painted AK? It would look gross...

i will cut the zip ties off my gun. As for muticam, im not a fan of it. And you don't have to be sarcastist when you say you have my aproval. Because you won't listen so it doesn't make any sense. Also ak's look kinda good in OD.

No, seriously. Ask any of my buddies. I told them I wouldn't paint my rifle until I had your approval. No sarcasm.

Not quite sure how you'r interpreting the point I was trying to make. I didn't mean in anyway that some SF guy is gonna kick some ass (shit I'll do that myself). What I was trying to say is look at the pictures of guns in real combat action being used in the military today as we speak. There is a reason they paint their guns. Not to look cool or anything. I'm sure if anyone talked the bull that was said earlier to them after it was done. There would be a few choice words said. Maybe even some action.
-
I never said I'm making fun of their paintjobs, it's just that I personally don't like painted guns. (Although I have no opposition to ghillie wraps) I just like having the option to go back to black if I want to. And as for seeing black after orange, I just shoot them before they see me.

I interpretation fell along the lines of "say that to a SF and get knocked off your feet."
Sorry if I miss-interpreted, but that's how I saw it spell out.

Yeah...just remember. I'm not 15 years old. I wouldn't state anything I can't take care of myself or own up to. If I talk sH)t I'll back it up.

I personally don't care for painted guns myself. If that gives me away, so be it. After all, we are just playing a game out there anyway. If you like a painted gun, cool for you. I think that there are good paintjobs, and bad paintjobs, and only if someone has taken the care and time to make it look good should he/she get props for it. Hell, if the last thing to give me away is my gun, then I would say I am in pretty good shape. :P

I own a Gerber. Very nice blade, but I'm ready to upgrade.
Sog makes EXCELLENT knives as well.

mine aren't, but im thining about a H&K or a blackhawk. Mayber a butterfly. I would loose it, so im not sure yet.
-
Get a Columbia RIVER!!!! They ARE the shit!! To demonstrate how well they hold a sharpening, Christian Chopped a small log(ish). Then some Rock then shaved some hair off his arm.
-
i used to sell knives if you want a decent folding knife go columbia river but if you want something to last and backed up by a great company made in america go with benchmade. i have a benchmade 3200 mel pardue limited switchblade(black on black aircraft aluminum with g-10 inlay), kershaw saphire(titanium handle), and a columbia river m18(discontinued black on black aircraft aluminum with g-10 inlay). not including my ka-bar tanto that currently with my brother for when he re-deploys to iraq. Sog sucks and so does coldsteel dont go with them i had nothing but complaints about them from angry customers and dont get me started on their customer support. Go benchmade and youll be sure they will bend over backwards for you they always did for me.
-
Benchmade, Ka-bar, Glock. Those are the 3 best knife companies from my experience. CRKT is good too.
-
The DOCTORsight looks way to small on the m4gery.
-
hey vince, why don't you have your crane stock on it? I thought you liked them.
-
Yeah, back on topic:
<Vince's Pictures>
I kinda liked the look of your gun, the way it was set up before this update (no, not 'cause of the Playboys). It looks like it can use some accessories, and maybe more tan, that's all. SOMETHING. But, yeah, overall:
8/10
-
Please, don't quote the pictures.
I dunno, I like the way it is now, I have an Aimpoint CompML3 and a LaRue Tactical M68 CCO mount to mount it on coming in the mail, and that will be about the extent of my customization. I wanna keep it light and functional. The Troy sights are the finest sights money can buy, the Aimpoint is the among the finest optics you can buy, and the Tango Down is the finest vertical foregrip you can buy. All in all, I think I will be happy. Weight is important too...having to haul this for long periods of time will be easy.
-
I guess I felt it looked a bit too lightweight and functional, but what it's got and what it doesn't have makes perfect sense. Do you use a sling for it, as well?
-
Yeah, but that's in transition, it will be a two point sling in the next three weeks.
-
I like it myself. HK 416 is a pretty rare gun to be finding out there.
-
So Vince, are the sights real steel, and a real Tango Down grip, not the KA one?
-
So Vince, are the sights real steel, and a real Tango Down grip, not the KA one?
I looked up the sights, there around $300 from their site, if anyone wanted to know.
-
They are real, and they are made of steel, so, yes, they are "real steel."
If by that you mean, are they made by Troy Industries, then, yes, they are. And yes, that is a real Tango Down grip, you can see their website on the bottom.
Sorry, pilz, I didn't see your question earlier; I took the Crane stock off because the batteries are too finicky. I don't like dicking with it. I like the solid feel of the full stock anyway. The OAL is only 1.5" longer than it was with the Crane stock at the position I ran it at anyway.
-
Pilz, I would recommend a black paint job on those 1911 grips.
I think it would match your CQB a bit better.
Just my opinion though. Nice set-up!
-B00M!
-
pilz, did you take the G3 barrel out of the G36? And the M14 silencer looks bent down a little. Also, take a picture of the G36 with the SL9 mag in.

Nice Vince. Now all you need is a floater.
-
Nice Vince. Now all you need is a floater.
No, he needs a Trijicon and a vltor crane stock.
-
Nice Vince. Now all you need is a floater.
What's a floater?
trijicon and a vltor crane stock
Trijicon what? They make a LOOOOOT of products.
SOPMOD (Crane) stocks are made by NSWC Crane, or more likely, Lewis Machine & Tool. VLTOR makes carbine modstocks, which can be equipped with one of two attachments, one of which, yes, create a cheekweld similar to, yet different in execution and appearance than the SOPMOD stock. I have an VLTOR Clubfoot Modstock already, no need for another. That being said, I am probably putting my CA Crane stock back on until I can figure out a way to fit a Defensive Edge Sully Stock onto my AEG.
-
4x32 Trijicon. I think he means free float RAS.
-
You mean an ACOG? I dunno, magnification doesn't seem necessary in airsoft, although I would like one for my AR sometime down the road.
I already have a free floating handguard/railed forend.

seph6885, I like the AK, except for the mag. Other than that, it looks great.
-
thats the mag the guy gave me. do you not like the brown? i like the color complement. i plan on getting normal 47 mags anyway.
-
thats a cool ak, you should get a m4 stock for it.
-
why would i do that? it would look ridiculous. not to mention losing the ability to store large batteries.
-
Not if you put a crane stock on it.
-
thats a cool ak, you should get a m4 stock for it.
Why?
-
- The M4 stock would better match what you've got on the gun, but I agree with ya, Seph, it wouldn't feel right. I bet'cha know that G&G AK-74 stocks are extra-long for 9.6v battery storage, if you're looking for a bigger upgrade.
\PLT

if you're referring to this useless rail thing i have, thats what came with the gun, i didnt put it on there willingly. i think its pretty stupid.

Did you get it used?
-
Rocketboy, is there an advantage to having the rear sight on your HK416 on backwards?
-
Rocketboy, is there an advantage to having the rear sight on your HK416 on backwards?
I think there is in some way, or why would he have it that way, unless he put it on wrong.

Elbows, what kind of L85 is that?
-
Dunno where my post went...but its the GG model.
-
Hey Bow-Tie, what's with the white tape? And how's the STAR working out?
-
Hey Bow-Tie, what's with the white tape? And how's the STAR working out?
The tape is to prevent the lid of the box mag from popping off and bb's spilling all over. The tape on the grip is to keep it secure because it's a VERY cheap plasticy grip. The gun itself feels nice for plastic though and it works great.
-
just put some up. you all know what the weapon on the bottom is, but the top one is weird. CA gearbox, SRC outter barrel, TM body and stock, Delta gears. its a mess.
on the CQ, i put a G&P red dot in the riser i got. put what used to be in that riser on the mutt. textured rail covers and the UTG fore grip. all i need nor the CQ is a sling, mags, and battery, and tight bore.
-
Grayson, did you for some reason flip that picture in Photoshop?
-
oh.. no, thats the cameras fault. its built into my computer and for some reason it leaves the pic mirrored
((all fixed))

EDIT: Hey, I don't want to sound like a d!ck. It's just that a wood kit would have been a much better choice. AKs weren't made to look like that. It's not realistic. That looks like a cross between an M4 and an AK. To me, it looks wrong, a "tactical" AK :?
-
Hmmm, that is certainly the first time you have ever voiced a concern for realism...
Extra points for the guy with the silliest looking scope in airsoft trashing another man's AK!

To Fish: Good job, Fish! Keep up the good work! I am sorry for what I said earlier, you ARE getting better!

[smilie=armata_pdt_34.gif] thanks... definetly working on it. As for my scope, I take it off now and then.

Heh.
Seriosuly though, the Tactical Spetz looks great.
If any of the AK series could pull it off, the spetz is the one.
Just laying my opinion out on the table for y'all.

hooray redwolf!! what an awesome M14, it looks sick vince. but the piss in the toilet could have been left out... imo

Is it just me or is that the same weapon you've had for a while with A LOT of miles on it...
Dude Matt, I love that sling retention system. Is that homemade?
Also what vertical grip is that?

The vertical grip looks like a tango down.

I got it 198 days ago. I've used it in maybe 6-7 games since.
Dude Matt, I love that sling retention system. Is that homemade?
The sling was made by David. The front sling mount is a G&P copy of a Knight's QD sling swivel and the rear sling mount is a Tangodown PR-4 (http://tangodown.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=22&products_id=40).
Also what vertical grip is that?
Its a Tangodown BGV-MK46 Vertical Foregrip (http://tangodown.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=26&products_id=49).

Man... nobody noticed the painted mag...
Looks great Raith. I await further testing to decide if I want to do that to mine.
-
pilz,
can you even see through your optic with that BUIS in the way?
Do these things now!!:
1) get rid of the orange.
2) paint the rest of your gun to match your foregrip.
Why show your sure fire lights with no way of attaching them to your gat?
that is an awfully big case for your cell phone.
-
- Pilz likes to buy and sell and trade and whatnot. If he plans to stick to this gun, though, I'd imagine he might consider painting it.
Right?
\PLT
-
That optic does look kinda odd that far back, but if you like it, its cool.
-

That's what I keep telling him! He says that since Doc does it, it must be the right way to have it on your gun. And Poland, he won't paint it. he's just getting tan accessories for it like a tan crane stock, rail covers, and ergo grip.
-
...nice phone...tactical.
Paint it dude. All the cool kids are doing it. :P

Actualy, i like it there becasue i can aim without shutting an eye, if its farther foward the dot gets bigger because its farther back, and it works for me so its good. I may eventualy change it once i get my gun Tan and looking good. Im getting the Tan stock magpul tan railcovers, tan aimpoint cover, a noveske, and a gonzo battery. I will have those soon.
-
i added an acog what you think
I think you need to stop buying guns. You're turning into pilz, except you keep yours.
-
Brando, can you post a pic of all your guns?
-
um sure. i will put one up tomorrow.
-
Cool, thank you. All the pics of your guns that you posted in the past were pretty sick. I lost track of how many you had, lol.
-
Those are nice! My favorite are the shrike, and the M14.
-
- gdaqb, I envy your collection. That AK-47 is a little too modernized for my tastes, but if that's how you'd like it, that's how you got it. At Red-Alliance.net you can get a lot of sources on AK customization if you feel like looking into the process. I'll always consider the M14 to be a beautiful gun.

-
Pilz, loose the orange tip already. But yeah good choice, looks nice. Keep it the way it is, don't add optics to it.
-
I think it would look better with a darker finish on the wood.
-
The blonde wood is kind of cool. Has a very like, new, American AK type look.

Since I just got it ealier today, and after that i whent to work. I haven't had any time to remove it. give me a few days, and it will be gone.

schmuckduck- very nice paint job. How did you keep the trades visible? And I think you need more tan in it.
-
schmuckduck- very nice paint job. How did you keep the trades visible? And I think you need more tan in it.
You can use a white crayon.
By scribbling the white crayon onto the trades and wiping it clean with a hot cloth, it will give you that "white trades effect."
You can also use White Out, however, this method is VERY hard to get right.
-B00M!
-
Or just white acrylic paint and then saliva fingers or a wet eraser.
-
I used white craft paint, and I just wiped it off. It left no residue, except where I wanted it.
-
Thanks, I kept the trades visable by painting in layers. First, I taped the areas I wanted to stay black which also contained the trades. Then, I painted green. Added more tape to get the design I wanted and finished off with brown. Gun was to brown after first coat of paint went on, so I had to mist the whole gun with a final layer of green. It could use a bit more tan I agree. Still a work in progress. Im sure I will be touching it up from time to time.
-
Nice Sig.. don't want to get hit by those hollow points.
I rather not get hit by any ballestic projectile...personally.

Very nice Vince.

it's an EBR kit, i have no idea which brand though.

Ah, but you got to love the pad, all 10x5 ft of it 8)

Id buy the kit 8)

Bassick, I'm loving the CQB.

-
thanx man :) i think its AVP or AMP the emblem on the box makes it hard to distinguish, but it has 4 reticle options. I got it at APD for 60. i like it much more than an aimpoint, because its all open, theres no tunnel vision, making it really easy to acquire a target

Thats my REAL M249 issued by the government. Its got a short barrel, collapsing stock, rail system, an M145 ELCAN, and an AN/PEQ2A on it.
M4 stocks on SAWs are gay.

gotcha, low tech solution for a high tech piece of equip.

Keep $2,000 of gov't money on the gun.
Does it fall off easily?
-
claim it got lost or somthing... Its only the goverment.
-
Its 550 cord to keep the AN/PEQ attached to my weapon IF the rail grabber fails or loosens up, causing it to fall off.
Pilz, its called a statement of charges. If I loose it or damage it, the government takes it out of my paycheck. Then my squad leader takes it out of my ass. I think i'd rather throw some cord around it to keep it on my weapon.
-
is that charger charging anything on the gun or is it just there? jw
-
That's a power cord for a laptop I'm pretty certain, I know it's nothing for the gun. It also disappears behind the cabinet there in the corner presumably to a wall outlet.
-
Na, he's just charging his 480volt 100,000 mah battery that is required to run that thing. Surprisingly, such a small cord can provide enough juice to charge that up in a timely manner.

A month or 2, depeding on if the items I need are instock, and depending on if somthing breaks.... Its all good none of the acessories are needed, but they make it look "tacticool" [tac-ty-cool].

Pilz, you need to get rid of the rear BUIS. It has no purpose.

But I like it.. It looks awkward with just an aimpoint in my opinion.

Ah kids rationalizations, you got to love it!
-
Hey, you've gotta consider the looks too... I don't want to be running around with an ugly gun... Like a Famas. lol
-
If you want to see an ugly FAMAS, go to ASR. You got the classics, like a home made RIS, carry handle scope mount, and a FAMAS with a G36c handle.
-
I want functionality first. If it looks cool, that is a distant second. For the most part, things that are very useful and have real use are usually "cool" anyways.

Wow.
Tokyo Marui Car-15!

Ummm...the whole thing is metal dude. except for the tube and the stock. Pretty solid.
On another note...it came with this 8.4, 600 mAh battery and very simple wall charger. How long will it take, assuming it is dead, to get a full charge? I don't know this battey's history.
I know that this charger won't charge my new 1400 Nimh pack.
Thanks.

Sorry im just a little slow.... jk, anyway looks cool and it's a collectors item. I have seen a few on ebay, but never thought to get one.

What's the output of the charger?
all the text is in japanese (Mikey? little help?).
It does have this : 6~7 on the top and AC 100 V on the side, but the rest is japanese.

Put it on the charger until it gets warm then.
Without knowing the output of the charger, it's impossible to know how long it would take to charge the battery.

I'm sorry Pilz, you are correct, it is plastic. It is so heavy and solidly put together, it felt like metal.

Maybe the toilet had a butt baby in it that wouldn't go down.

It's because that is Paul's gun, and the photo was taken at JT Tempe.

my Well m4.... slightly modified :)
-
just to explain my guns in detail... the type 96 has a 500 fps cylinder kit in it, along with a bushnell 6-18x50 scope on it. the famas has an m100, metal bushings, deepfire titanium piston, and systema helical gears.
-
That FAMAS actually looks pretty cool.
-
i removed the iron sites leaving just the picanny rail, but i need to either re-tap one of teh wholes in the gearbox shell or get a new shell. i also took off the extended outer barrel, considering the fact that it just becomes a nuisance in matches.
EDIT: which famas?
-
Just wondering if that mg36 has a large foregrip or the stock length?
-
Sorry just saw this, that's a STAR handguard, it's as long as the stock one you get, it's just larger width wise.
-
I was just looking through the picture thread...
Jesus Christ, Vince. Whatever you do for work, any openings for the summer? lol.

I agree. I hade ugly guns but D*** this is just not pretty to look at.

Why put an external tank on a bolt action rifle? Can't possibly tell me that your going to shoot that much.

You want the flow to be as consistent as possible.

That was the only answer I would accept and you answered it for him : )

Why put an external tank on a bolt action rifle? Can't possibly tell me that your going to shoot that much.
Can you regulate the FPS with that also...like for a longer shot (withing AA FPS limits of course)?
-
Yes you can. The first regulator goes from 0-300PSI, and the sub reg goes from 0-100PSI (and is finger adjustable).

How about that couch? :P
From what I understand, the Soc 16 is some of the finest that Marui has produced, which says a lot since Marui was great to begin with.
-
It was the best stock gun that I've ever owned. I've got an M100 in it now with a Prometheus tight bore and I'm more than impressed.
I would recommend the couch too Shane
There aren't really any immediate negatives other than there aren't that many basic internal components available as of now, but that will probably change. Just be REALLY careful when you take it apart because this thing called the selector arm is relatively fragile.
And if you have issues ordering overseas, some people do, you won't be able to buy upgrade parts for it.
-

I can't wait until I get mine in the nest week or so. I will replace the selector arm since they make the metal one but its $38. So if it breaks there is not choice really.
-
It wont be in the next week, but I can definitely see one of those in my future.
-
I heard the finish isn't to good on the soc 16, is there any truth to this?
-
Well, that's a pretty broad stroke, there.
The finish on the receiver is top notch, until it gets wet. Then you're fairly fucked.
The finish on the stock is decent, but it achieves it's color on both the green and black stocks by way of a clear coat over a base coat, and the clear coat can get scratched off after awhile, creating a non-uniform appearance.
Easy solution -- paint that bitch.
-
The finish on it before i painted it wasn't too bad. It's called "sand stone" finish or something like that. Anywho, I painted mine in khaki with krylon paint and it's much better like Vince said.
-
Ah, well I see Vince has christened it already :)
How does this one, with a second regulator, compare to the other setup/gun you had? And Im gona have to shoot it a bit : )
-
Hey Vince is that a Escort mp5?
-
Yes. Escort MP5A4.
I built it the week before last.
-
Didn't you also have a Escort mp5 last year for LCV?

Sounds almost interesting except this year they're not keeping score. The Allies will have to accomplish their objectives while getting trying to win support of the various tribes. Not so much force on force 24x7 this time where you shoot everyone not dressed like you. :)
Good luck trying to 'win' with your ROE. :P
-
Good luck trying to 'win' with your ROE. :P
Just because there's no point system doesn't mean that the outcome of the OP won't be decided. It's going to be decided based on mission success and failures.
Unfortunately, I think you put too much stock in the ROE. As the old saying goes...it's only illegal if you get caught. I'm not putting any sort of stock in the outcome, and without any sort of hubris, I hope you guys can put up a good fight. I've thought since the roster was announced that BoUSA put too much stock in people wanting to be the bad guy; 4:1 is way too high a ratio when you guys don't have noncoms to blend in with. Any time I see somebody in something other than ACU or MARPAT, all I have to do is wait until a) you do something hostile so I can kill you or b) nobody's around so I can kill you.
It worked well at Bulldog because the teams were even; here, I'm not so sure.
-
Yeah, it'll definitely be interesting with the team ratios but I still suspect there are some elements that we aren't aware of yet. You're right about the ROE, it's only effective if followed. I'll reserve further comments until I get my player pack in a week or so. :)

Nice paint Nosmo.
I agree, did you prep the stock in any way or just use a krylon camo over the stock TM stock? Let me know how it holds on for you, I'd love to make my M14 a tan color but am afriad the paint will smear right off after a game or two.
-
Thanks Ghostsequel, I was surprised how well it turned out considering it was my first paint job.
Kileyhaz, I didn't prep the stock at all, I just used Khaki krylon paint. I first started with two layers and then added an additional two a couple weeks later. Even so, the contact points are obviously going to wear off as you can tell in the picture. Just make sure you follow the directions EXACTLY on the krylon can. They're something to the effect of, "paint dries in 15 minutes, able to be handled after 24 hours, apply all additional coats with in 24 hrs or seven days later" If you apply additional coats after 24 hours, but before 7 days the paint will clump or something to that effect.
The paint doesn't spear right off after a game or two though, so I would definitely paint an M14 if you were to get one, it really improves the finish of it in my opinion, and just looks better than the black that Socom 16 comes with.
-
pilz, did Ron use a flat clearcoat? If not, you should put a couple coats on to protect the paint.
-
No I will wait for the paint to cure which won't be for a few weeks but ok. clear is too glossy.
-
No I will wait for the paint to cure which won't be for a few weeks but ok. clear is too glossy.
Not if you get a flat clearcoat.
-
There is no reason to use a clearcoat with krylon camo paint. If the paint starts to show wear, which it will in often-handled areas, you just retouch it. It's easy enough to apply, and Pilz knows how to do it. Besides, a pristene paintjob means your gun is more for show than field use.
-
It's easy enough to apply, and Pilz knows how to do it.
Yeah, but he'll screw it up. ;)
-
If he does mess it up, I'll help him fix it, or just make fun of him so much he'll feel obligated to sell me the gun cheap. (then I'll fix it. lol)
-

I don't really think that I can screw it up bad enough to were I want to sell it becuase then I could just paint over it. But I do stupid things alot and that would probaly be one of them, Thank you Ron for painting it though.
-
That's the point Jon, it's nearly impossible to mess this up. Have fun with it, experiment with new stencils, etc. You're welcome, it was fun.
-
Vince, you didn't get the one with FN trademarks?
-
Vince, you didn't get the one with FN trademarks?
No, that wasn't out when I got mine, and I got mine at cost, so, it wasn't worth probably another $200 for something that might get painted over some day.

Hey bowtie nice RPK does it have a Drum mag or any internal upgrades? Is that the new Inokatsu RPK kit? That gun is awsome maybe you should give it to me.. :D

Not yet, No, sort of, Thank you, and no way in hell.
I'll be getting the MAG drum mag for it after LC and it doesn't really need any internal upgrades but I might do something with it down the road. It's not the kit from redwolf but the actuall complete aeg.
-
Nice Shrike hows it working for you?
-
Nice Shrike hows it working for you?
I dunno. I haven't shot it yet. I just finished putting it together. I did get the box mag working, though.
-
Damn but are both of your guns working now?

Damn but are both of your guns working now?
My Airsoft Surgeon's in pieces. I took it apart to get the piston out. Turns out the piston didn't strip, the back just got ripped off.

Thats what happened to my deepfire.

-
Brandon-
For some reason, the short front and the big stock just don't seem to work well together.
-
Man alive vince how do u choose which gun to use next!!
-
hey brando i love that black SCAR....
-
that revolver in the opus-x box was quite disappointing. i would have liked a box full of opus's more haha
-
Hey Vince is that a Inokatsu by any chance? If it is did you buy the kit or the complete AEG?
-
Pilz, are those replica Troy folding sights? If so, are they the King Arms ones?
-
Yes, and no, I bet you anything they're the Boomer ones from APD.
-
I picked up the King Arms set off Redwolf last week. They are quote nice if that is why you were asking about them.
-
Pilz, are those replica Troy folding sights? If so, are they the King Arms ones?
Yes they are the King Arms ones. They are better than I thought they would be, no wobble at in in them.
-
pilz, get that grease off that body.
Or at least smear it over to around the trigger pins. :P
-

I couldn't find my rubbing alcohol so I just took the pictures but I put a new pic up with the gun cleaned no grease.

I am so happy, I finally finished my M12 AK47!!!
Seriously...The gun started life as a CA XM177 A2.
I added the A2 flash-hider off of my M15A4, a 300MM 6.04 Guarder Tightbore and a G&P Aimpoint replica.
Of course it had to rain today so the indoor pics will have to suffice for today.
The gun is for my girlfriend to use (she wanted something smaller than my full rifle and I wanted to share a common magazine) but I will probably be fielding it occasionally.
One question I had was where on the rail would the aimpoint normally be placed? I think it's about right but I'm not sure.
(The other) One question I have is where I can get a normal sling (I think that is a two point) for the full rifle. I don't want a three point sling, and I don't want one that is stretchy or anything like that. I just want a plain, no padding, no frills shoulder sling.
-
clearly.. it's an M12 AK47.
good lookin guns. i like the M733. Whats with the body color though? its a CA right?
the aimpoint is fine. Whatever feels best for you. i always like mine as far forward as possible.
as for the sling question... i suggest a 3pt. or theres always the option of using a 1pt woven into your rig. Whichever you like best really. It's all about personal preference and comfort.
-
Whats with the body color though? its a CA right?
CA is right on the body color for their XM177E2 and M16A1 rifles as the early Vietnam rifles had a grayish body with black hand guards.
-
oh right. it's got the whole old school thing goin for it. for a second i thought it was a plastic receiver, but then i saw the armalite stamp, i had to ask
-
Yeah, Its the CA XM 177 E2... As far as the body color, I think CA changed the body color of all of the Vietnam era ArmaLites.
There are all sorts of oddities with the 177... For instance, the inner barrel goes halfway down the flash-hider (Necessitating the new inner barrel for my build) also, Dobbins confirmed that the foregrip is indeed a little bit smaller inside (hence the troubles with the battery) finally, MAG magazines don't feed worth a damn in the thing without taping the back of the magwell to push it forward.
I think I am going to write a review on the gun in a little while seeing as there are none to be found on the internet.
-
airsofting4god...
My two cents on your primary...take off the camo tape, I am guessing you are going for a kind of tactical look, but H&K already did that work for you by designing the gun. Also, that pattern is something that belongs on somebody holding a deer rifle (a Winchester model 94 in .30-30 comes to mind.)
Anyway, just my suggestion.
-
i agree. we're not hunting wabbits.
-
Gah! My eyes!
If you are going to tape it, at least tape it completely or with something a little more professional look. It just looks tacky as it is. I'm with Laser and Ares, take the tape off.
-
Thanks for your advice i think you all are right . thanks again
-
I have been wanting to paint that rifle for a while now... finally got around to doing it. This is the first time I have painted a gun. Feel free to give me any tips/suggestions.
-
How did you do it, spray paint?
-
Krylon Fusion...Its specifically designed to bond to plastics without primer.
Get the camouflage shades...they are extremely flat.
-

Where'd you buy that paint at? Thanks in advance.
-
Wal-Mart... But only one of the two in Prescott carries it.
-
Ace Hardware has it too.
-
That's what I heard/thought. Thanks.
-
Get some of the Rustoleum textured flat enamel as well and use it on the high contact areas. It feels really nice and doesn't wear as fast.
-
Any specific flat clearcoat you can recommend? I can tell this is going to wear REALLY quick if I don't clearcoat it.

At which point, you do it again.
-
Works for me...it was actually kind of fun. I don't think I did half bad for a first try.
-
Nice m4, why is one m910 darker than the other one?
-
I dunno...I think the HK MP series are guns that look best plain black (seeing as they are mainly an indoor/cqb weapon platform)
-
Thanks for putting my link in to my picture could not figuer how 2 put the picture into a pic
-
nice scar
-
Farslayer I like the HKp2000, nice paintjob on the mp5 also.
-
i painted the mp5 and the hk is a my gun also
-
The paintjob on that m700 looks good, but it could use some lighter colored khaki, and then some tan. The digital you have there is a little too dark, and adding some other shades may help.
-

Thanks Pilz, my girlfriend had the brainstorm to try it like that so we gave it a go with the tan and brown. She also said that it needed to be at least 3 tones after we saw the finished product. I'll probably leave this one as is for now and if the paint and clear coat hold up on the field, if they do I'll try a MK2 version of it on a surplus M14 stock.
-
Ribs,
where did you pick that up? looks like someplace where there are basements....
-
Got it on Arnie's. The guy lives in Boston. Also got my spare mag from Redwolf today since they are having a blowout sale. I didn't know the mags were THAT big.
-

Still not seeing any guns that cost more than my car. Or my house.
That is a nice looking gun, though.

Still cost more than your girlfriend.

Probably the dumbest comeback I've heard in a while.

A stock CA M4 costs more than my car payments. :d
None of your guns cost more than my house payment. :d

Your schtick in your signature's just not very true...you got nice guns, so what? There's people on this board with more expensive/nicer/better guns than you.
The whole 'hehe, I'm gonna put 'I'm an asshole' in my sig and then act like one' is pretty played out too.
Whatever, drive on.

babybackribs nice rifle how many fps
-
The VFC m82a1 mid-term usualy shoots around 460-500fps with 8mm .34g bb's.
-
so where is he going to use it? that is higher then any field fps rules. including best of usa correct? plus i heard the hop up doesnt even work on yours.
-
The VFC m82a1 mid-term usualy shoots around 460-500fps with 8mm .34g bb's.
It shoots ~370 fps w/ .48g with HFC134 gas. Plus, I'm getting a custom Escort blowback system and adjustable FPS regulator put in.

Let me guess, pilz told you that? Guess what, what you hear isn't always true! And I have yet to hear an fps limit for a sniper rifle using 8mm bb's anywhere in AZ.
-
Good luck finding somewhere to play with it.

So, you think that that entitles you to make it shoot as fast as you want? I can assure you, the 8mm BB will shoot no faster than a 6mm at 500 FPS. (At least at AZ games)
-
No. Brandon said that it shoots higher than any field FPS limit, and I have never heard any for AZ fields. And it's WAY under Best of USA events limits.
-
Here is a quick and dirty FPS conversion:
8mm .48g BB = 370fps = 3.04 joules
Converted to a .20g BB weight, the new readings will be 571.89fps, which far excedes current local (and national BofUSA event) limits.
Regardless of what FPS it's shooting at, I doubt it'll be much of an issue because I don't think we'll see you humping around a 20lb. rifle in the field all day.

Thats just a little too fast, I don't see any reason to have a airsoft rifle shooting that hot unless you have no feild limit, or you use it for target practice in your backyard. I would carry around a 20lb rifle all day if its all I had, but then again thats me and not everyone would do that.

Using .34g (8mm) BBs: OK < 448 fps Caution 448 - 460 fps NO GO > 460 fps
Power comes in the form of HFC134a gas (good for 290-310fps using 0.34g 8mm BBs
And 2 things: Of course I won't be slumping it around all day. It's meant to be in one position, not carried around like an assault rifle. And you will never see me use it, because I don't play with you guys.

yawn
-
Nice PTW Brandon, I like that VLTOR CAS-V it gives it a more solid feel even though that thing is already a rock.
-
Nice Barret, it needs a good scope now. Whens WGC going to ship it?
-
I ordered it from UN. It's a Tasco 6-24x50AOE.
-

Ok, sorry guys its a UTG Vince wins.
-
Pilz how does it shoot???
Good gun???
I shot one the other day and i liked it so much i thought it was time for me to order one. Think i would be waisting money or no?
-
A new one isn't going to shoot near as well as that one.
-
Hmmmm???
What do you mean?
Upgrades?
-
It's a pre-ban with a G&G Power Kit and rubbers plus a custom nozzle. All it really needs is a Dee's to be good to go.
-

It shoots nicely with KSC .30's, .43's don't go as far as the .30's so that is why I don't use them. It gets about the range of a highly upgraded AEG or so which is good. It's quiet and works well. It could use a few upgrades but its getting cold here so I can't use it. Its around 65 or so, and I don't want to mod it for HPA since I don't know how.
-
What did you put in it? How far away can you hit a regular size paper plate.
FPS???

You forgot the m203 on that .50, also that Eo-tech adds the little bit of uniqueness to it if thats even a word.

Actually, according to Steven Levitt in Freakonomics, the average, street-level crack dealer makes about $3.50/hour, and has a 7x more likely chance of dying on the job than the average worker. Owning a brothel, there is a money maker.
Back on topic, Tora, why you hatin? Do you even know the kid? Next time you have something like that to say, keep it to PM.

No, dude.

That just cracks me up everytime he says that, lets see him produce a W2 first.

I'm not hatin' for no good reason.
I just find it pretty crazy that a kid his age is making that much money.
I'm not saying I'm much older nor better in any way.
I just find it pretty mind boggling and rather braggart.
Mabye I should stop being a pessimist.
Mabye he is paying with his own money.
But either way you look at it, once his parents give him the money, technically, it is his own money.
I don't mean to come off as an asshole.
I really just felt like throwing in my two cents :)

Um, I think I have the single most expensive airsoft weapon on this forum.
It doesnt matter how much you spent on any airsoft gun anyways. In the end, no matter what, its still just a damn toy. Find something else more intelligent to argue about children.

IIRC it involved getting a second mortgage (original weapon + associated external parts). Even richie rich here can't compete with that

The wood looks wonderful on the G3, very classy. Is it just converted real steel parts?
-
Creeping Death its good to see another systema user on here. What rifles do you have?
-
I'm with Sten on that one. The wood looks incredible. Very freedom fighter. See? I said freedom fighter instead of terrorist, because as soon as you pick up a rifle like that, your cause is instantly noble. Unless you are an Islamic Extremist or advocate illegal immigration. Seriously though, great stuff.
-
The wood looks wonderful on the G3, very classy. Is it just converted real steel parts?
Yup, it's a real steel wood set...the work was actually really easy to do...did it all in under a day (filling a spot with JB Weld and waiting for it to cure took the most time)
-
Creeping Death its good to see another systema user on here. What rifles do you have?
the only PTW I have is a bone stock M4-A1 MAX with a M130 cylinder and 9.6v battery.
I also got the new mil-spec buttstock plate in yesterday with is a lot better than the standard one. they even made it matte colored to match the stock (original one is kinda shiny).
My only plans for it in the future are figuring out a cool sling to get for it... its got that lower front sling mount which rules out a lot of sweet 3-points (unless you get a Vickers foregrip mount) so I'm not sure what to do.
with my red M150 cyclinder it shoots so damn far I might get some kind of scope too (not that anyone will ever let me use that cylinder in a game).
I just saw the photo thread and your PTW is pretty sick.
is it a MAX or Gen III? lemme know too if you have any extra parts you wouldn't mind parting with.
-
AirsoftBen, I absolutly love the lower reciever!
By any chance, is that custom work or did you purchase it?
-Brian
-
It's the G&P Zombie Killer body.
-
What Vince said. I was going to just replace the old metal body, but the G&P one wouldn't thread with the RIS I had, so I had to get a G&P free floating RIS, and that forced me to get a new Front site. Funny how $135 turns into $255 really quick.

Are the PTW's all they are cracked up to be? I have long considered liquidating my current arsenal to get one. However, the lack of local support, and difficulty and expense of parts and accessories have always deterred me. I know they shoot well, and perform well, but where would you have them serviced if they were to break down?

they are all they're cracked up to be. the barrel, sights, switches, pins are all steel and the foregrip, pistol grip and stock is a fiber/plastic mix and is a lot harder than the plastic they use on AEG's. you can also switch from shooting 350fps to 550fps in 15 seconds by changing out the cylinders. mags are real M16 mag shells just gutted out and replaced with airsoft internals. they don't dry fire either and a switch inside them turns the motor off when the mag is empty, just like a real gun.
they're also extremely reliable and are basically "milspec" because they're designed to be training weapons for military and law enforcement. there really isn't much you need to buy for them except real steel accessories if you want them. get an extra cylinder and battery and change the o-rings in the cylinders every once in awhile and thats it.
not like a Marui or a CA that you're constantly tinkering with and wanting to get better internals, batteries, tightbore, motors, metal body kit etc.
repairs are handled through distributors and usually just get sent back to Systema Japan for serious repairs. small parts can be ordered through the same distributors. www.z-shot.com (http://www.z-shot.com) is a good source for parts.

Cool gun Airsoft Ben, which squad are you in for BD2?

I am very happy with my ptw. I have owned lots of aegs and none have compared to the performance of the PTW. I like the changing of cylinders so I can change from shooting 350 with .20s to 375 with .25s in about 10 seconds. With an m4 length barrel and .20s it reaches out to people at 200 feet with ease. There design of the batteries for the stock is similar to that of g&p. The battery is only in 2 parts with a thick metal rod holding it in place so all you do is drop it in and connect it. No wires to mess with. Plus a distributor in Europe ran a ptw with an m150 and a 12v for over 200,000 bbs without a problem. I don’t know of a normal aeg that has done that.
-
The only think that i dont like about the PTW is that it costs like 250.00 bucks for 5 mags for it, saying that just hurts let alone buying them.
-

its a box of 6 mags for $250.
or you can buy them seperately for $50 each.
besides actually buying the gun, mags are really the only other you'll ever have to buy for it unless you want different cylinders and batteries.

...why pilz, why...
HEHE its always kool to see what you have new, nice gun. whats it weigh in at?

Pilz, Sweet SAW, whats the FPS Like with all of those goodies in it?

Pilz, Sweet SAW, whats the FPS Like with all of those goodies in it?
It's around 370 with .20's, but I plan to get it right on the limit of 400 with .20's or 375 with .25's. Its a really nice gun and works flawlessly.
-
Very nice look, custom-made can?
No, it's a KM 250mm from Poweredge.
-
Dude the G&P stuby killer looks realy cool. But, dont you think you put way to much money into it for such a short range gun? Then again to each his own, and if in the right CQB environment I guess it would kick ass. With all the high speed parts in it how does it perform? Is it a bb hose or what?
-
The Lipo in the stock tube is a nice touch.
-
Raith, could you humor us and show us a pic from your EOCOG?

It actually has pretty good range since I tweeked the hopup, but nowhere near my Shrike. It is also pretty reliable since I already knew how to work on an MTHaynes gearbox so I don't expect any of the parts to break anytime soon. Once I put a MOSFET and a weaker spring in it, it will be somewhere around 36 rps, since it's at about 34 rps now. My goal was to make a BB pisser, no matter how impractical, and I think I've achieved my goal. :D
-
Raith, could you humor us and show us a pic from your EOCOG?
I have neither EOTech nor ACOG with which to do so. I think I still have nearly nothing in the photos that I've put up in the past.

So, have you put the bb pisser to the test yet? I think somthing like that would be good for a mount envirement, or a backup for indoors.

Nice to see Echo1 branching out, even to the older players.
So SACR, the G36C takes good to those upgrades? I heard that was one of Echo1's worst guns to upgrade, but from you, it sounds amazing. 350FPS, really?

It took the upgrades well. I will say that you should have an experienced person work on it. I would not do it on my own. I had Ron down at Gearbox airsoft in Tempe, AZ do the work for me, (no I don't work there I am a customer) he's really good but still got frustrated a couple of times getting everything to fit. Its really tight. As for function once we got everything together it was awesome. It cronographed consistently and when I got it home I was consistently hitting a CD from across my yard ( about 120feet) in semi it did not miss and in full hit mostly..
All in all I am very happy with it..
-
Native,
I have a friend that wants to buy an echo dmr. how is it over all?
oh, turn your flag around. stars always in the upper left.
-
Native,
I have a friend that wants to buy an echo dmr. how is it over all?
I take it your friend wants to use it as a DMR? Well, there's some trouble. The gun shoot very well with FPS, and range. about 360-370 FPS out of the box, and 150-175ft range. But, the accuracy can't save it's life. If he just puts in a TB, and uses .23s or .25s it's amazing. The RIS on is very well built and study, way worth the extra $30. I use mine with .23s and a box mag, and I have my self a support gun. Over all, I love it, and it great.
oh, turn your flag around. stars always in the upper left.
Yea, I know.. I saw that after I took the pic.
-
Thanks. I'll give him a head's up.
-
Thanks. I'll give him a head's up.
If it will be his only AEG I suggest not unless you plan on giving it a MB. The problem with this gun is that the entire front end is metal while the entire back end is plastic. I got the JG version and noticed a 1cm gap between the receivers being caused by the weight of the front end. I had to take one of the rail covers that come with it and put it half/half on the RIS and Body which helps take the weight off the tabs. The RIS unit is kinda shoddy and sometimes grips won't fit since the rails are made iffy. My RIS grip fit one way but when I tried to move the cover it was jammed and the grip had to be hammered on. In addition I had to dismantle most of the gun and reassemble it due to shoddy construction, JG version that is.
FPS is what Native said. Also the RIS unit is a 2 piece with a tri on top and a single on bottom. They are held in place by the Delta which is spring loaded and pins it to the front sight. Bad thing is it will move even with everything tightened down and the barrel will wobble slightly(not enough to be a concern) due to the weight at the front. My above fix removes nearly all of this though.
So its a good gun but for an only AEG I suggest against it. Out of all my clones it concerns me the most.

Hey usafcajun, what brand is that M14?
-
It's the Echo-1 M14. All metal and weighs almost 14lbs.

Echo 1? Can I get another amen? ;)
Is it really that heavy? I always hear it is.
EDIT: I'd like to add a question. What's the FPS, RoF, and over all way it shoots? Any good?

I was able to handle it at the game. heavier than I thought. I was amazed how accurate it was stock. It also looks really cool. just paint it.

It's about 13.5lbs in weight. Chrono'd at 355fps with .25g Killer Beez bbs stock. Very accurate and nice long range. I fired it mostly on semi though.

i have a machine gun

Congratulations...
Cajun, any chance of a side by side comparison with the existing EBR's out there?

Are those Ak74's both Boyi/Kalash? and if so do you have them in at Gearbox?

Are those Ak74's both Boyi/Kalash?
Yep.
and if so do you have them in at Gearbox?
Not yet, but soon.

They look pretty good. I am looking for a good backup to my Type 56 and can also be used with a Russian impression. What is the quality of the wood like?
Also how is the Mag Catch on it? I have heard that it doesn't fit other mags well and you have to file it down.
-
What is the quality of the wood like?
I really don't have any frame of reference to compare. These are the first wood AKs I've ever owned. I have no problems with it.
Also how is the Mag Catch on it? I have heard that it doesn't fit other mags well and you have to file it down.
The 74U fits everything I've put into it except a CA 74 hicap. The longer 74 can fit the same, but I will probably file the catch down some as it occasionally hangs up.
The TM clone 7.62 mags that I have go in both guns great, but I'm not sure I can bring myself to use them in these. :P

Just call it an AKS-74S,and use the 7.62 mags.

Just call it an AKS-74S,and use the 7.62 mags.
Thats true. I have to stop looking at just Soviet stuff.
I'm trying to find an AKS-74 7.62 variant. Looks like an AK-103 is kinda that way.
The 7.62 mags look cooler, work better, are cheaper, and more importantly, I already have a lot of them.

usafcajun, that paint job is sick. Just wondering, how is that M14 treating you? Im looking into buying one from APD. Would you recomend it?
-

I've only used it in one skirmish so far.....but.....it worked flawlessly and managed some decently long shots. 355 fps with .25g bbs right out the box. Heavier than your average AEG also. So far I'd recommend it with no reservations.
-
usmcpog, I'm liking the launcher....and the stair effect, nice.

Nice paint job.

nice stuff.....
-
Beanns2,
Nice, where did you pick it up? Personally I have been holding out for the -H, but not sure how much longer I can do so. Any chance of a review once you skirm with it?
-
I got it through UNcompany. With the 8% discount from the holidays. As for the review ya I will come up with a lil quick and dirty review on the gun.
I can say already there hop-up is AWESOME. I did crono it yesterday and was at 320 +/- about 5 with .25g Killer Bees.
I was stupid and partially broke the bolt catch on it but it still works. The only problem I ran into at first is the battery packs I own have plastic caps on the end and they make it to thick to fit into the stock.
Besides the battery and my stupidity its a very solid gun. Pretty good sound, and only about 12.5 lbs fully loaded up.
As a side note I think that Star might make it so one can buy the lower receiver, barrel for the Scar-H seperately and than just convert over to that, but dont take my word for it.

Dang Uchiha Itachi, nice work on that CA36! I don't even recognize it anymore.
-
Bondo does wonders. The grip nub is slightly to big since I just took a used a mold with the mesh on my bros G36c. So it sits on/in the grip. You can't even see the rear crack due to bondo and super glue nor most of the scratches.
The stock color just doesn't look like as good as Ultra Flat.
-
Yes, that ultra flat certainly looks much more appealing to the eye. ;)
EDIT: That's a beautiful SCAR Altered_Soul! Does it include trademarks or is that writting just VFC's information?

@Altered Soul:
Your "G36c" is very sexy, as is your baby hi-capa. However I find SCAR-Ls to be as appealing as Jabba the Hutt.

The trades are the US VFC import version unforunately, its missing the top line of FN maker mark, but thats it. Everything else is there. I didn't feel like paying +$50 and overseas shipping for a 20 character line of whiteout when these trades look good enough.

Holy crap thats an assload of airsoft.

Vince,
That the Echo-1 EBR? Have you chrono'd it yet? Nice paintjob. I'd like to see if they chrono consistent between guns. Mine was 393fps/.20g, 353fps/.25g Killerbeez.

DAMN thats a nice AG36 you got going there Rob.

The STAR optics are awesome. The only con is with the 3.5x since you must be really close to use it and it was at a 30degree angle off center. I fixed it but couldn't put the spring back in since it seemed to be too big.
I replicated a Bundeswehr grenadier G36. The only con is that I don't have a shell yet....

It's an Escort 416.
-
The last modification before I start my JG G36 projects. I guess its a bastardized G36.
Madbull 6.03 650mm
Madbull Blue 60 degree bucking
M110
Around 380fps +-5
It has crazy range and accuracy. I got sent the wrong silencer but the K front and hinder will be replaced, they just cover the IB right now. For some reason it looks bent, I checked it with a level and its perfectly straight.
Looks great man. What happened with the AG36?
-
I took it off. Its been K modded so the barrel moves around to much. It has to have a K length barrel since the gap is to big. I didn't notice and bent my last TB. I'm just going to buy a few JGs and turn them into the various G36 models(its cheaper by about $100 each gun) fully upgraded.
I saw yours and these are the issues you need to know.
1) Both selectors will fall off. I super glued mine down since I had no choice. The hex screws will eventually dig too far in and wobble off.
2) You have to use an external battery pack or sticks. Even after modifying mine minis still don't fit right. They get jammed and take to much time to fit. I just use a pistol mag/battery bag.
3) Nerf vortexes are kind of a pain to launch with it. My stingers slightly comeback and hit the release which opens the launcher. If this happens it will go a whole 5 feet. The only way to stop that is to fire it like an RPG holding it closed with the left. It'll launch one with stingers around 140+ feet when fired correctly. The hotter it gets the further they go.
4) It also scratches very easily.
-
Thanks for the hints. Luckily thats not my "main" G36, that thing was recently upgraded and will always be my first choice to bring in unless the SCAR handles better.
This is more of a project G36 to play around with, and it satisfied my sudden desire for a grenade launcher I will use approxiamately, never.
-
I saw a picture of someone that had an sl8 i think but i cant find it now! does anyone have one and if so...how is it? worth the money from star?
-
Nice! FPS?
Thinking about roughly 275-300 area because if you saw what it did to a CD youd be shocked or im just one of the best aims with a DEagle(The bb split it in two on the side then when all the around the inside of the disc and came back out the entry hole when my friend threw it in the air, ill go get the CD monday and take a pic)

Looks nice for a "clone" TSD/SRC, I was thinking of picking one up for canibalising some of the parts over to my other guns/projects, but it looks to be a decent standalone.
I had one question though, how does the Drop mag button work? I couldn't find a decent demonstration of it.
-
I don't consider it a clone since some of the gun, like the electricals, they did themselves or put on options other guns don't like the rails and mag button. But then again if it isn't a Marui it is basically a clone. Everytime I take my CA out it breaks or something falls off. Last time the connector pin broke lose and the hicap broke while not in use. It doesn't even have its original outer barrel assembly since the AG36 bent it.

Nice paint job Rogue fox. The fake leaves do make it look a little weird though :? .

Rogue Fox I am not trying to be a douche here, but that paint will most likely stick out more than it would have if you had just left it the stock color. Luckily, it is fixable and though you don't have to do what 99% of everyone else is doing, you should probably try making it a little less contrasting. The fake leaves do have to go though, as I think it would only work if you were running in an OP in Grandma's living room taking down the terrorists holding her hostage. Because grandma has a huuuuuge living room with plenty of sniper spots surrounded by fake poinsettias. :D

Madcatjoe
lovin the look of that M-16, props man.
-
me too :D
thanks man. it has since been changed slightly, as i removed the sling and buttstock mag pouch, and added a single point adapter behind the reciever. ive still yet to try it out in the new config, but it shouldnt be a problem.

Pardon my ignorance, maybe its a Marine thing. Is there a method to all the numbers? Is it simply identification?

Armory numbers.

Last 4 SSN on your gear. Blood type on body armor, knee, elbow pads.
And I think part of your Battlefield tracker ID would be WX55AA3121, which would be on your blouse, trouser's, boots, belt, and ACH. No names over the net yous!

When I was in the Marine Corps, we did the stamp with the full last name and last 4.
The BFT ID, is the unit UIC last 4 and sometimes plt/squad.

recoilef: looking great! that MEU is awesome, but why the A1 trigger? :D

recoilef: looking great! that MEU is awesome, but why the A1 trigger? :D
Haha, thanks! I'm especially proud of my MEU, I had to do alot of work on it to get it working right, I even had to white dot the sights ahah! But I guess thats how all airsoft guns are if you want to upgrade it nicely. Anyways, I stuck with the A1 trigger since i didn't care too much about getting a new one...and for about $40 for one it made the idea less appealing. Speaking of 1911's did you get your Kimber worked on?
-
just finished!
check the pic in the pic thread :D
woot
-Joe
-
Nice, I just took a look at it. Were your Novak sights dotted when you got it? Cause mine weren't. Are you using TM's MEU mags? I wanted to buy some but decided against it since I didnt need anymore pistol mags lol. Looks nice, i bet she purrs haha.

Hey Rogue Fox,
What is the second attached rail you have on there on the optics bridge of your G36? Is that a rail ripped from an MP7, or something else?
-
You hit it dead on, i ripped it off my broken mp7. I havent gotten around to trimming it yet.
-
Wow, David, that is actually starting to look like a PKM! I'm impressed! Too bad it feeds on the wrong side.

Hey Raith, what are the specs on that battery?
I'm getting a little tired of using the bulky stock on my CQB-R and have been looking to try out one of those magpuls.

7.4v 1000mAh 10C LiPo. Apparently thats not very impressive, but it does seem to work well for what I want it to do.
-
Is it a custom made battery pack or can it be purchased online? I want to test the waters a bit on LiPo batteries.

Can be purchased online. It is made by Socomgear.

Vince, I love the gun and all the bathroom glory! =)

Vince i have a question, what company makes that delta rings called and where did you get it from? i've seen it on alot of M16/M4's and i want to get oine, but i need to know what its called first.

It's a barrel nut that holds on a RAS.

Matt, that looks so nice....jealous. :(

wow im lovin those guns,

highly impressed by all the weapons on here.
question: that g-36 gernader. how much does the gernade launcher throw off the weapon balance? a lot? a omfgwtfiswrongwithHK lot? thinking about getting one.
im jealous at all the saws, shrikes, RPK's, m-60's, and esp the 240B.......ill throw up pics of the 1919 when i get home again....gawd i miss being a support gunner.
-
Who made the optics module, XM?
-
It was custom made by a friend of mine over on AS-R. Unfortunately he doesn't have the time to make more of them, but I'm going to look into reverse engineering it and making some changes as well. I don't expect that to be any time in the immediate future, but I can keep you updated if you would like.

Its heavy, and during a full day OP it will start to wear on you. The best way to deal with it is A) Get the KV Stock with a large battery to balance it out and B) Get a good, solid sling to keep it off your arms all the time. I used a single point bungee sling at BHII and it cut off circulation to my right arm (I am a left so the sling was over my right shoulder). I really wished I had bought a better sling for the occasion. But yes, it is heavy. Nothing some strength training can't help to lift it and keep it lifted, but lugging it around all day got wearying.

Nah, don't worry about it. It does look cool though. Just missing a GL.

^ So is your M4 a gas rifle? becuase if it's not whats the point of having a gas piston (or a spring in the barrell is what it looks like to me), not bashing you the gun looks awsome, just curoius about the spring.

Yup. It is more on par with the Bushmaster or HK416 piston. Kinda hard to get the LWRC assembly look I was going for.
-
^yes, i know what the system is, but is it purley asthetic or does it actually do someting?

Matt, You Suck :P
Lucky Bastard ;)

that new krylon hammered steel paint worked woners on the saw.
-
so, i decided to try LiPo. Got 2 fusion-packs from Action Hobby. 2 cell 7.4V 800MaH 25c discharge. not a bad little pack so far. i stuffed one down the buffer tube and got rid of the mod stock. i like the slimmer stock better. I still, and will most always, have the railmag on the left, sometimes with the flashlight on the right. quite different from a year ago when i got the weapon.
-
^ did you get a lipo that used the Deans connector(or whatever one the G&P uses) or did you convert it?
-
the pack i bought had open leads, so i got the deans soldered on while i was there. I think they fucked one of them up though... you have to squeeze the leads to get one of the packs to fire (i bought 2 packs)

Hey Raith, where would one go if he wanted to get a tripod and ammo can holder for an M2? You know where to get just about anything.

Hey Raith, where would one go if he wanted to get a tripod and ammo can holder for an M2? You know where to get just about anything.
Your best bet may be the upcoming SAR Show (Dec) or perhaps the Papago Military Vehicle Show. (Jan)
Confusingly, the nomenclature on a tripod for a M2HB is M3 Tripod. The 1919 uses an M2 tripod.
They cost a whole lot. Be prepared to spend anywhere from $500.00 - $1500.00 depending on what all you're getting.

Its a PDI PSG-1 fluted outerbarrel, no longer made. Kinda like this current production one:
http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/a ... odID=18482 (http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/ProductDetail?prodID=18482)
But mine is completely fluted, no vents like on that one.
Also its obviously threaded at the end.

awesome work on the g3. did the forearm take any grinding to fit right? what about a battery? looks real good so far man. i just checked the tracking on the set i ordered. ill have mine Tuesday.

Sorry I had to point it out.

Sorry I had to point it out.
You had to point out the fact that I used the term "fore arm" instead of "fore grip." Any specific reason behind that? I was just asking a valid question to find out if there were any issues applying a real steel wooden piece to an airsoft rifle which I own and am also in the process of doing the same modification. Thank you for pointing out that I used an incorrect term. I would have to guess I am now a better person for knowing to from now until forever say fore grip.

It was really worth that long of a response? and you stated the reason yourself.

Actually why don’t you GOOGLE H&K forearm. You will get about 30 pages of results. Why don’t you email all of those companies and tell them they're wrong! Case in point http://www.ar15pro.com/category/775-AR1 ... earms.aspx (http://www.ar15pro.com/category/775-AR15_Tactical_Forearms.aspx)
Damn even SUREFIRE has it wrong they call it a FOREND. As far as their concerned a FOREGRIP mounts to the FOREND. But damn I’m happy to know that your right and half of the world is wrong!!!!! Thanks for setting us strait.

My last post on this subject, but I think Ive actually wasted the least amount of time on this issue out of everyone that has responded to it.. ](*,)
Now, back to discussing the weapon photos mabey?
-
I don't have a problem someone calling me on something I said that was stupid. Hell, I say a lot of stupid stuff. But don't "point out" someones errors that aren't errors. Thanks to oldgamefreak for sticking up for me though. Much obliged. I normally wouldn't care about an internet argument, but I didn't feel as if I said anything incorrectly. And I didn't admit to using the wrong term. I of all people should know sarcasm doesn't translate well into forums.
Anyhow.... Oldgamefreak, I got my wood stock and fore arm today. I'm not gonna have a chance to get to it until this weekend. You might get a call from me with questions if I get a little lost on the project.
-
I realize I am contradicting my last post by posting on this matter again, but I belive in settling things instead of leaving issues un resolved.
If/since I am indeed wrong about forearm being the wrong term for that section of the rifle I apologize for making the faulty corrections, I've just never heard of that part being called a forearm, Ive always known it as a forend or foregrip[plus in my mind the term forearm just doesnt seem to describe the part right, even if you are reffering to the rifle as body parts who the heck holds thier forearm?]
anyway, my apologies, I guess its just one of those terms like tomatoe/tomato and potatoe/potato, the terms are interchangeable but everyone has thier own opinion.
-
No worries man.
-
Matt, don't blame me for getting the FNC.
-
Boles,
Your MK46 looks good. Do you like the TD Bipod? I was thinking of getting one for my 240.
-
Thanks I do like it alot but my only issue with it is when you want to drop it down in a hurry you have to do both sides instead of one motion like a normal bipod. And its actually the King arms version I thought about just getting the Cheapo from China on Ebaybanned but paid the extra doh for the king arms one. its a real nice light weight bipod
-
hell, your mk46 is better than lugging around my metal brick m249.

Hey guys... Do you think that this D-Boys Scar is a reasonable gun??? Just asking because I was thinking of buying it.

Wrong thread!!
Bizkitcan that gat is sick man!!
-
Nice Celcius Vince, what are you initial impressions of it?
-
SAWs without stocks and are gay.
-
Boles, it is accurate for a Mk46 to have a Para SAW barrel, but there is no way it would fit past the rail without cutting off the carry handle. It's a slight mod some guys do with their real Mk46s.
Vince, that's some funny ish bro.
I'll have to post pics of my Real Sword "LT Recce Rifle" and Kim Jong "SEAL18 Mod 1" one of these days.
-
yeah but un-painted stocks are gayer.
-
Nice Celcius Vince, what are you initial impressions of it?
It shoots really hot.
I have only been using it at the 'hardcore' games we've been having every few weekends lately.
-
malicious IND: thats a real ACOG, right?
-Joe
-
Nope its a FOCOG, from ebaybanned.
Looks legit and has a 4x32. Perfect for airsoft.
-
wow. i didnt know that they made a trademarked TA31. whats the reticle like? got a picture of that?
i may consider it to replace my G&Ps...
do you have a link to it? i searched the site, and cant find one with those trademarks...
-Joe
-
http://www.ebairsoft.com/ta31-combat-sc ... -1710.html (http://www.ebairsoft.com/ta31-combat-scope-black-p-1710.html)
Thats the one I have. The retical looks just like that.
-
looks just like my G&P then, but yours has trademarks...
hmmm. maybe i will.
thanks for that info
-Joe
-
Bizkitcan, your gun is the most externally appealing gun Ive seen. EVER
Where did you get the PTW externals?
-
My goal was to make GIJOEshmoes M4, just like any 'ol rifle you'd see in a newspaper photo from Iraq. So that's my primary. The project gun on the right started as a zombie killer from G&P, but I slapped on the front set from a special forces M4. I want to change the grip, and I'll paint the front sight. The M4 on the left will remain black.
-
noveske magpul - g&p internals - nice set up
madbull spring and barrel + a socom gear lipo
-
Damn Vince, that helmet setup come with a Blackhawk helicopter?
-
Vince - Is it shooting hot with the stock cylinder?
-
Vince - Is it shooting hot with the stock cylinder?
Yeah, really hot.
I have a really short inner barrel so I am not making as much velocity as I should be. Oh well.
-
Xavier, how are the Airsoft GI G4's ?
-
Xavier, how are the Airsoft GI G4's ?
I'm curious about them also, was thinking about getting maybe the flaming hog or another cqb friendly model.
-
A friend had a flaming hog, they are pretty cool for mid lvl players. :D
-
They are really nice for the price. I have a full review posted here if you are interested: http://www.airsoftretreat.com/reviews/showproduct.php?product=329
I personally don't care for the looks of the particular model I got, but that's what they sent. The gun was shooting nice and smooth out of the box. A bit low for outdoor games, but perfect for CQBAZ. I think Darkhold used it down there on Saturday. The receiver has no flex at all and if it wasn't for the light weight, you would forget you were playing with a plastic receiver gun. There's no creaks or wobbles at all. Same goes for the ICS Sportline I just got in. The plastics look nearly identical between the two.
I personally find the crane stock included on my model a bit tedious to swap out batteries but it's an otherwise excellent gun for the price. Just keep in mind, ASGI is often a bit backlogged on builds unless they have the model you want laying around. Motor might slightly be on the weak side but other than that no complaints.
Just be prepared, the gun ships in absolute bare minimum packaging to save costs. No fancy pictures or foam, just a plastic tray and cardboard cover.
-
A friend had a flaming hog, they are pretty cool for mid lvl players. :D
Cool thanks, I have a few higher end guns but im just looking for a cheap cqb m4 style gun, and think that might be it, or i could go for the G&G cqb H.
-
Xavier, how do you like your Dboy Kac PDW? I love the look and feel of this gun and want to get one. I just haven't had the chance to use or see one in action.
-
It's a POS. Even by ACM standards, it's QC standards are horrible. Internally, it's like you just got whatever they had laying around. Some people got a metal hopup, some got a clear plastic one. Some got a metal sector chip, some got a plastic one. Most people's stock's don't lock in the folding position. The spring is completely random. The motor sucks. Accuracy sucks. Mine requires a rather firm whack to ensure the mag is locked in regardless of mag used.
Even people who have gotten a "good" one, still replaced half the internal parts.
-
That’s why I am going to go with a different SPR haha I heard that d boys had flaws like that. My friend john ordered a scar from them and sent it back because the motor gears were stripped and the hop up was the same clear plastic that you were talking about! He now has an Echo 1 G36 haha.
-
Damn the AK mag long enough?
-
Can't belive it is finally finished! Machined this with my uncles help in machining class. First one ever for We-Tech gas pistols haha check out my thread in gas guns, by tomorrow or friday I should have a video. And no it's not brass. Anyways here it is tell me what you think! Nice work, how many rounds does it hold? it looks like a little over 50... but what exactly did you machine ot out of? just curious
-
T-66 aircraft aluminum, it has a gold coating on it to increase durability haha, and to think about three weeks ago this was just a piece of solid stock aluminum haha, BTW It holds exactly 47 max. I was hoping to have and even number like 50 but hell I'll take it haha, just waiting for the silicone to dry and I'll take her out for a test spin haha. I'll post a youtube video on the thread I have for this in gas powered guns before friday.

What possible purpose does that "killcam" serve? The video mode on a Powershot A530 is hardly suitable for "action" scenes.
-
Thats not a cannon, and it takes pretty good video for what it is. And also It will be video from the kill cam not my cannon your right it does not take good video AT ALL! I have a 8mp with HQ video on it right now.

Just an FYI, I give that camera a 5 minute survival rate, thats being generous. Its a HUGE OBVIOUS target, and while I am totally for the recording and viewing of airsoft footage, that camera is going to shake like a strippers ass on the front of that rifle where it is, rending all but a little of that footage useless. It also crosses 3 of your major target ares if you hold the gun correctly, and interferes with line of sight, are cameras a good idea? Yep. Is that camera a good idea? No......
Your going to get one of those videos similar to the ones kids shoot into the air on a rocket, if your camera survives at all. Just my .02.
-
Your right wich is why I decided to reinforce the mount and use my husky 8mp hevy duty camera.

How does that Sten shoot Xavier? Ive always loved the look of them, did AGM decide to adopt another mag or does it have its own mag type?

The mag it comes with is it's own design, but it's supposed to take AGM MP40 mags as well. The gun itself shoots pretty good, but it's sights making aiming a bit difficult.
-
how do you like the launcher? That was one of the ones I am looking at buying.
I love them. They are great equalizers when you are playing against vehicles at an op. I find them very accurate up to over 200 feet at a point target with a flat trajectory. I can easily get an area kill at 100 yards.
Went through a selling and buying phase and kind of redid some of my old guns with whatever was left over...

awesome. For me it is between that and the Metadyne launcher. They both look cool, but the Metadyne uses an air rig.
-
The launchers I posted use a remote line and a CO2 or HPA air tank.

That is pretty cool, Ross.

That is pretty cool, Ross.
Thank you sir...I like it and am pretty satisfied with it...Will see how it performs this weekend...It chronographed out at 330fps pretty consistently and has a good ROF...Seems to be pretty heavily built...CNC upper good thick ABS (I assume) lower...

I had no idea anyone was making a Masada. I'd really like to see that.

Well I'd really like to to shim the GB and give it a workover...So I guess that would constitute you looking at it...

Saw this when I met you the other day..Pretty solid Gun. Especially for the price point. Interesting to see how it performs for you. let us all know.

The Masada saw its first outing this week end and was put through its paces for around 20 hours. The environment was dry with very fine dust. Lots of fire and maneuver lots of up and down LOTS of Dirt.....It performed admirably and reliably, I only had one failure to feed ( mag related I think ) performed corrective action and moved on...The only draw back was the low FPS which will be remedied probably tomorrow. I am satisfied ..

Where'd you pick it up at, Ross?
-
I believe Ron ordered it for him, I could be wrong though.
Ross, what mags were you using with it?
-
http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/aeg/a-k/index.htmlit was $262. to my door and took 3 business days to get here. It comes with 1 Magpul PTS hi-cap. I picked up 6 Magpul PTS mids...

Ha ha! No, Tyler, that is THE Sig; the one that Kit fell on and broke in half!.. then I stared at it for a few seconds and said "We can rebuild him. We have the technology."
good god batman i would totally buy that thing from you in like a heart beat
Yea, I think it's a sexy gun, too. :) I think I want to give it another try with a new gun that wasn't previously broken in half; see if I can get it more reliable.

I just got a major boner looking at your BAR and 1919 .30 cal. :!: Love the jeep too :!:
Who made your BAR and how did you make the .30 cal?
Thanks

Well if you read the words above the picture, he made the BAR himself and how he made the .30 cal I'd imagine out of a m249 gearbox but that's my guess.

Very nice OldGameFreak... The KJW will not let you down. A very solid GBBR platform! Get the ASS buffer kit to up that ROF.
-
Nice XavierMace, how does it perform?
-
Once Jeremiah fixed the selector (which technically didn't effect the performance), so far it shoots fine. The cooldown is horrible but when the mag is warm, it shoots pretty hot (~400 with .25's) and the blowback is nice and crisp. The blowback is quite a bit harder than on most smaller gas guns (IE Maruzen MP5k, KSC TMP, KWA Mac11). I haven't had the chance to compare it to a WE or KJW yet.

Armalite Attack
There are so many M-4 out there that they really don't excite me so much any more. However, yours is the first one that has given me a boner in a while. Very nice and well done :!:
I have a few questions for you. First, where does the battery go? Also, is that a real or replica EOtech dot sight and Magupul stock? Now days it's getting harder to tell. Last, what kind of grip did you use.
To top it off though, you need to get a tan Grip Pod for it. Get a real one though. The airsoft ones are crap. You can find good deals on ebay.

Battery goes in the stock, it's a fake EOTech, and that's an airsoft, non-adjustable MIAD and an airsoft version of a KAC VFG.
-
Vince is right. The EOtech is a Hurricane and I'm getting a QD stubby grip. The one I have now is the G&G one included.

Strip that orange paint off of the tip while you are at it...

I take it the battery is a Lipo then? If so, what the rating on it V/C/mAh?
Thanks

Assuming it goes in the buffer tube..
The most common batteries for those are like.. 7.4v lipo, 1200mah with a 20c discharge, or a 11.1v 1100mah with a 15c discharge..

A lot of people have been going with this one for the buffer tube https://fusion-pack.com/productdetail.a ... 74&cat=112 (https://fusion-pack.com/productdetail.aspx?id=174&cat=112)

Robby, do the Emags actually feed better? I know they do for real guns but what about airsoft?
-
And do you know how much slimmer than regular pmags they are?
-
Robby, do the Emags actually feed better? I know they do for real guns but what about airsoft?
they feed great so far, haven't fielded it yet, but i will guess it's just as good as my PTS PMAG which has fed every time although the design is slightly different (see pic below of top view, hard to tell from pic sorry) but this could also be an earlier generation PMAG that I have.
And do you know how much slimmer than regular pmags they are?
They are the same width as the PMAG, which is honestly the same width as a MAG M16 mag (bad angle in the pic, but they are the same), the only part being thicker is the base plate. The major difference is the angle of the mag and the cut in the front of the mag to accommodate mag wells that are not AR-15 spec (see pic).

How do you like it? Did you put any upgrades in it, or does it shoot good stock?
-
I love it, right now it is stock but after my M4 sells Ill be putting E1's cylinder upgrade kit and a TB into it.
I had previously owned a WELL L96 witch has a slightly longer barrel[and costs more], but the ASR is already more accurate even without upgrades.
I will get some accuracy and range stats this saturday then put up a review on it.

My VFC platinum edition with g&p aimpoint and vltor style stock
(http://i805.photobucket.com/albums/yy336/DMAN_X007/M4/IMG_0960.jpg)
If it's a VFC why does it have ECHO1 markings? :?
-
the Echo 1 Platinum guns are made by VFC
-
So then it's an Echo1... Calling it a VFC is like driving a Saab 9-2X and saying you drive a Subaru Impreza or having a Pontiac Vibe and saying it's a Toyota Matrix... not that it's a bad thing either way. I'm sure they tweaked things like some of the other guns they rebrand for the better but i just think it is what it is, especially if they made an upgrade or change to VFC's hop up or etc.
-
The entire gun is a match to one of VFC's E series m4's. same internals, hop-up, inner barell...etc. the only difference is the echo 1 trades and it came with an echo 1 hi-cap. The case it came in is almost identical to the one the VFC Scars came in.

Heh. I'll be down at Gearbox after work again and I'll have it along if you wanted to see it.
-
wow, lookin' good x...
had my eye on G&G's new toy for a while now as well, how does it feel?
-
Feels fantastic. Much better than my JLS (although that's admittedly not saying much). It's heavier than I expected but not horribly so (heavier than the prototype at the Shot Show). Didn't get the chance to shoot it last night because of the rain but so far everything appears to be assembled very well. The manual has instructions for installing the optics module so that's got my hopes up. Based on the pictures in the manual, it appears the optics module is a straight clone of the actual FN module.
Unfortunately the handguard design still wasn't designed properly as you can't mount an EGLM with out mods. It's certainly doable but I was a little saddened that I couldn't just slide off the handguard and mount an Ares or VFC EGLM.
Mag compatibility will need a little playing around with PMags are a no go (no surprise there) as they pretty much just get stuck in the magwell. MAG midcaps however are also a no go as they do not lock into place. As far as I can tell thats due to the fact they are shorter than actual AR mags and the angle prevents them from reaching the mag catch. I'm hoping to be able to try an Emag tonight.
-
If you ever get rid of that let me know X :D
-

What kind of and how hard would it be to mod the hanguatd to accept an EGLM?

This is true.
But in all seriousness, I've been waiting for this gun for almost 4 years. It's not going anywhere. I almost had to resort to begging to get it.
-
Oh I know.......You made that clear last night...........I just needed RogueFox to know I was in line before him. :)
Not like it would matter, he doesn't keep guns for long anyway.
-
F2000s aren't my thing but that looks really nice.
-
just wondering x, how much did you get it for? and through whom?
i did a bit of googling, looks like they are retailing around $400 USD before shipping..
i really want to get one, can't seem to make the decision though. as for the mags, that's good to know. i have mostly MAG-brand middle capacity magazines, and a couple KWA/Aim-TOP high capacity magazines.. (M4 type)
i've been experimenting with different platforms, especially the bullpup type rifles for the new CQB place.. this one has definitely been an interest for me. i do have a P90, but they are so popular. and i strongly dislike MK5 SMG types.. i just ordered a G&G stubby blowback type M4, but i can't get their g2010 out of my brain :?
are you planning to do a full review for this rifle x? that would most likely help sway my decision heh :)
last addition; i did just find the short tan version on ASP for $300. there is most likely a catch though? i have not dealt with that company, so i have no clue what their drawbacks are. if anyone has, feel free to PM me/chime in..
-
Yes, the review will be posted on AS-R as all my stuff is. As for where it came from and the cost, the magical gun fairies dropped it off at my door.
-
ah, i see. so it works like a tooth fairy, you just put some BB's under your door mat?
i'll keep my eyes open on ASR

Yeah, rails for a AK74u are kinda hard to get here in the states, and most people go with an mp5 or M4 for a short gun. I wanted something different. This is the second AK I built, and by far my most customized gun. I am going to try out those Beta Project mags to see if they are any good, and I might put on a 552 replica.

yeah, that's what i was thinking about when i was looking at it. no shortage of MP5's or M4's.. i will say that ak74u's are very comfortable rifles.. and i'm a picky person when it comes to the "feel" of the weapon
i would like to check that rifle out in person some time, so i'll keep an eye out for your RSVP to the upcoming events

LOL, not a problem, I just couldn't resist. If you are going to be at the shop tomorrow, I'll bring it with so you can check it out. The rail is AMAZING. The gun just feels so much sturdier with it and it's not terribly heavy either.
-
morugatu, why on earth would you replace the stock ICS motor and barrel with CA crap?
-
The stock barrel was made out of very light weight metal and just felt like junk (reminded me of a madbull). I did the same with my ICS M4. I've always had good experiences in terms of accuracy with aftermarket Classic Army barrels. To only reinforce my experience, this article, http://www.6millimeter.info/joomla/inde ... &Itemid=42 (http://www.6millimeter.info/joomla/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=150&Itemid=42), proves that its actually one of the most consistently shaped bores on the market.
As for the motor, I kid you not, it out performs my ICS Turbo on a sp120 with 7.4v 3300mAh 30c battery in terms of RoF. I was very surprised. Trigger response is about the same. I've also chucked them to the side until I finally got some good lipo's. Seems they are just greedy little buggers and need a ton of amps before they show their true nature.
I found this even more puzzling as my ICS M4 motor performed far better in trigger reponse and RoF than the stock motor on stock spring in my L85. And it definitely is running a m120ish spring as it chronographed at 385fps w.20gram bb.
I stopped asking questions and just went with it.
But yeah, honestly the only thing I didn't hate about CA's was the accuracy. Sure the hop up was usually lacking, but almost every classic army I've ever shot was superb in terms of accuracy. If only the internals could actually put out more than 1k cycles before developing some random issue.
The moment I held my ICS L85 though, I knew from that moment I'd never buy from another brand. Just too much of a hassle to work on other brands when something breaks. ](*,)
-
Did you just say Madbull barrels are crap?
-
I'm just not a fan of the new trend with aluminum barrels. I tried madbull, didn't like it, and have since been sticking with CA and Prometheus stainless steel barrels.
I just don't like the idea of an aluminum barrel since its more likely to be worn, warped, bent, etc. than a brass or steel barrel. Just my personal preference, not forcing it on anyone.
-
Better than ARES?
-
I haven't gotten the chance to play with it yet, but the battery isn't in the mag which already gives it a leg up over the Ares.
-
My latest acquisition. ICS M3 Grease Gun.

KWA USP Compact (NS2) with Shooter Design Slide/Barrel and Trijicon Night Sights. Just waiting for my KM tightbore and Streamlight rail adapter to come in and it will be set.
What holster do you plan on using with the flashlight? Assuming you are getting a rail adapter for a flashlight.
-
Probably will just have one made. The rail adapter has turned out to be a bigger issue than I thought it would be. The airsoft USPc ones are always out of stock and the GG&G USPc rail is slightly too large for the KWA USPc. Works perfectly on the KWA USP Tactical though.

holy shit yes.

Thanks!
I really want to know how that was done, I'm getting ideas.
I just used krylon and a normal kitchen sponge, but you can use pretty much any sponge.

So you just spray the sponge and dab it on? I'm seeing a great possibility here with maybe a tan base layer and brown splotches.
-
Yeah, just make sure it's not on the sponge too thick or else its just a big blob, but you can just press it on something else to get rid of some of the paint. It adds texture too! I think tan and brown will work good for desert areas.

I like it. Thanks for the idea! :D

Great paint job on the Masada. One of the best I've seen in a while.

Yes I do and I absolutely love those rails. I'm thinking about getting a real Troy rail for an AR build in the near future.

I almost did that, and then I discovered that they don't make a 12" rail for some reason. They make a 13", which covers half the gas block on a rifle-length gas system and doesn't allow you to use a gas block front sight, and an 11", which has a huge gap behind the gas block and doesn't allow a bipod to be mounted as far forward as I'd like. Ended up going with a Midwest Industries SS-12, which looks very similar.

Yea I would assume the rails looked similiar to the Madbull rails and were relatively the same size. I'm planning on building something similiar to the G&G m16 above.

Well, that assumes that the gas block on an airsoft gun has to go in any specific place. My two cents? If you're spending the money to free-float your barrel with something like a TRX rail, you want your front sight attached to the barrel, not the rail. The point of a free-floated rail is to remove the inherent flexing of the handguard from the equation when lining up your sights, but if you put the sight ON the rail, you've re-introduced it again and largely negated the benefit of a free-floated gun. So it's for this reason that I wonder why they made a rail that cannot be properly used on any length gas system with a front sight gas block, unless you're mounting a low-pro gas block on a rifle-length system, and a second front sight/gas block combo near the muzzle, like a dissipator upper. I've only seen that done once before, and it was on a riced-out match AR. Looked kinda ugly, too.
Also, you might want to do a bit of research on the modular rail system. When researching whether it'd work on a rifle-length gas system, I saw a couple people complaining about the rails being extremely difficult to mount without removing the entire handguard, which may or may not also require you to remove the gas block and flash hider. Some people might be okay with that, but I don't know if I'm one of them.

My Polar Star Build is near completion. I tested it out at the Fightertown Fund Raiser Night Game. Worked Great!
I spent several months slowly building this rifle. Countless hours designing the custom parts. Had to do a fair amount of modification to the receiver to make everything fit and run my wires to the buffer tube. I think it all paid off though.
Madbull JP Industries Receiver
Madbull JP Industries 9.8" Handguard w/ Barrel
Madbull JP Industries Upper x 2
Madbull Novesker CQB Outer Barrel
Madbull Daniel Defense 7" RIS
Magpull PTS Ergo F93 Buttstock
Magpull PTS AFG2
Polarstar Fusion Engine
Redline Grip Connect
9" Foam Filled Silencer (bought from Redwolf quite some time ago)
The FCU and Battery fit in the Buffer Tube: (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v314/DytHlt/th_CIMG0954.jpg) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v314/DytHlt/CIMG0954.jpg)(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v314/DytHlt/th_CIMG0955.jpg) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v314/DytHlt/CIMG0955.jpg)

1/8" 90 Swivel Fitting (http://www.amazon.com/Extreme-Rage-Stainless-Swivel-Red/dp/B00302JOPM) runs hose parallel to receiver, and allows hose to swing left and right. I still need to do a little bit of work to the insides of both Uppers to allow the imitation bolt to slide smoothly. Apparently Madbull felt that a "bolt" was not necessary with this upper, seeing as how the charging handle does not even have the required catches to grab the "bolt".

Can anybody tell me what the pen (or shotgun shell, or .50 BMG round, or whatever) through the trigger guard to take a photo of a pistol does? I've taken plenty of photos of pistols and never felt like I needed to put something through the trigger guard. It seems like something people do because they've seen other people do it without knowing why they do it. (Like revving your engine before turning it off)
EDIT - No offense intended to Note, I was just reminded by seeing your photo. That seems like a great deal on a gun that is reasonably hard to find.

None taken. I see what you're saying, the only reason I do it is because I like the angle and I can never get the gun to stand up on its own.

Thanks, I needed a good laugh.

Most of the time a round is used just for aesthetics, it's simply angles for photographers. Most use clear plastic though. Then you have the Pro's that use Perm Markers!

There are many of us who were friends with Ron, and remember as far back as the Game on, and then Jungletoy days.
Occasionally he would drag out this ratty box, and say ,"You know, I'm gonna build this CAR for the next game."
Invariably, the box would disappear, and we wouldn't see the CAR-15. Later on it changed boxes, but still did not seem to end up as a complete gun.
Well I ended up with it, and I finished it.
I present Ron's (Nil8r) Marui CAR-15.

I will post better pics soon.
As I was sitting on my back patio last night with the CAR in one hand and a DAMN fine cigar in the other, I couldn't help but realize how much I miss my friend............
im right here with you paul. I think of him every time I play around with the prime lr300 that I got right before he passed and I fondle it at least once a day. its good to see that that car finaly got built. it looks good. I finaly build a short gun for myself. I think I get pics posted up here somewhere
