Title: ICS M4 won't fire on Semi
Post by: andyhinds on May 11, 2005, 05:29:55 PM
I have an ICS M4 that fires fine on Full, but nothing on Semi.  Almost feels like the safety is still engaged.  Has anybody had a similar experience?

Can you fire semi after switching it all the way to auto? What about if you point the selector slightly right of semi (like 1 o'clock)?

Had the same problem after I upgraded mine. Have you taken the gear box down and fiddled with the selector plate/safety catch? That is what I did and it worked for me.

I had this with my Mp5.  except it fired on full auto when in semi, but only with an EXTREMELY hard trigger squeeze.

Try stipping her down and fiddling with the sector switch.

Pity the poor bastard that needs only one tap.

But, yes.  Mine does that too.  If I rotate my selector switch back and forth a couple of times it will usually start functioning properly though.  Uhh, till the next time it malfunctions that is.

I havn't had any experience with ICS, but some of the TM one's that I've worked on won't work right if you don't put the firing selector parts back together exactly the right way.  You might want to get a parts explosion and see if you can determing if your selector components are properly seated.  :)

it sounds like you took apart the selector switch (which oyu should not have) but make sure when you replace the lower reciver it fits easy not forced (and keep it on safety) because it will mess up you selector switch on the gear box but try taking the screw off the body switch to a new posittion.
