AEG's / Re: A&K Masada or ACR.

Unnecessary post. The Masada and ACR are the same thing. But said by many users on this forum, any AEG is lipo ready, viewtopic.php?f=5&t=27566&st=0&sk=t&sd=a. But I don't understand what you mean by two barrels for each, two different barrel lengths?
Not for you to decide what is necessary or not. Not "EVERY" AEG is lipo ready... most all quality AEGs from the factory can handle Lipo batteries, what was said was that the coined phrase "lipo Ready" is only a marketing phrase started by a certain manufacturer to help sell their guns and that is all it is. Cheaper AEG's may not be able to handle Lipo's as thier quality of gearbox parts can be hit or miss. Basically if you have decent stuff in the gearbox you have a good chance of using a lipo. Get your facts straight and information correct before posting, especially in the manner you did. If you are to be so critical of what threads are started on here you need to do your part to ensure your posts that are in reply are quality and have correct info if you expect people to look it up first. because, after all,  after you post something on here... this is what future OP's will be looking up.

Magpul's and similar things do make it easier to pull the mag out, but can also add bulk to the magazine and not fit in pouches ot get caught on gear. See how it will work with your gear and how you actually play before blowing money on a magazine enhancement because they can get pricey adding them all up especially if you have alot of mags on your rig.

That there is exactly why I'm not buying a $160 dollar chest rig ;)

Some of the great things about getting the legit stuff is that not only can you use it for more then just airsoft, but if/when the time comes when you want to sell it you likely wont lose much money for it (or as much). Last time I looked around I could probably sell my Eagle CIRAS for almost as much as I paid for it and i've had it a couple years or so.

If your looking at getting new mags try airsoft GI they have a 10 pack of 120rd King arm mids for like 65$ i don't like Gi that much but you really can't beat that deal, Thats what i use and i don't have any issues with them (except the one that does jam from time to time)
I have purchased two boxes of these King Arms Midcaps and both boxes (all mags) miss-fed even with lubing, they have never fully worked properly. I have never had a problem with MAG mags. I've had boxes of the HK416 ones and the standard gray M16 and with light lube the insides, they have worked every time. Another brand of mid caps I've had success with are the Magpul PTS PMag, it always fed. I've tested my new EMag and it too works great so far. I expect it to perform just as well as my PMag.

Troubleshooting / Re: G36 handle scope on a M4?

Just curious.. what do you plan on using the handle for? The carry handle is actually pretty worseless now a days in an age of 1 and 3-point slings. there are also half height riser mounts with A2 sights built in that could help you add an optic about the rail, but below the carry handle.

(i have 2 little cobras with 22 channels, they have worked at every game they were taken to)
This reminds me, if you can find a cheap one with sub channels those can be helpful especially a larger events where use of sub channels can be common. If you cant, no worries. a radio is better then no radio.. especially if that radio has a headset.

I would like to start this post with a request. The same request we make a lot around here. Especially those of us who have been termed "grammar Nazi" and the like.

Please take an English Composition course.

Now, to answer your question.
Inexpensive radios work fine. Generally nothing fancy, but for airsoft, they are more than enough to at least get you started.
I know plenty of people that run $10 radios from walmart, radioshack, etc. I like the slightly more expensive ones (motorola and the like) because they don't break as easy, deal with rain/sweat/tears better and stuff like that. Plus, they have better battery life and usually a few of the bells/whistles that people love.

If you are gong to call someone out on their English usage, please check your own first. You overcapitalized, under-capitalized, had an incomplete sentence, had fragmented sentences, and misused a comma. Nothing pisses me off more then the same people shitting on the forum saying (rather 20 people saying) that someone else is shitting on it. You just add to the shit pile. If you guys have an issue, try PMing the individual or use the report post button instead of adding sometimes in upwards of double digit posts and further clogging up the forum. I've been here or nearly 10 years and the childish and arrogant corrections are getting very old. Everything you are saying is already in a sticky in the rules. To add, JFGI or anything similar was funny the first time... Now it's just waste of a post.

To the OP, if you decide to get a cheap radio, try to find one that has the ability to hook up a headset/mic. You will be doing yourself a favor by not giving away your position.

AEG's / Re: Dropping FPS

it's honestly better to be a little under then to be that asshole that chronos too high at a game... or worse the asshole that knows it's shooting hot and plays anyways. if you dont want to change the spring you could fuck it up and cut some off it to tune the fps. but your best bet is to do it right and change the spring. BTW at 500 fps,  hope you have disabled full auto.

Still sounds like the gear timing to me with your piston issue, not sure though. mechbox.com has a perfectly good explanation on the anti reversal latch a timing from what I remember but Ganef's thread that was linked above is how I learned how to do that right.

as for closing the shell, a small precision screw driver or a pick will help line up the gears and anti-reversal latch into their respective holes in the shell, also make sure the piston is in the guide rails and the spring guide is seated properly while closing. other problems you may have closing it could be the trigger. you kinda have to feel where its getting stuck and see what is holding it up.

How did you pay for the item? Did you use Paypal? if you did you can dispute it up to 90 days after payment. if you didnt, unfortunately that is the risk you took purchasing something outside of a face to face atmosphere using an unprotected method of payment.

Robby, do the Emags actually feed better? I know they do for real guns but what about airsoft?

they feed great so far, haven't fielded it yet, but i will guess it's just as good as my PTS PMAG which has fed every time although the design is slightly different (see pic below of top view, hard to tell from pic sorry) but this could also be an earlier generation PMAG that I have.

And do you know how much slimmer than regular pmags they are?

They are the same width as the PMAG, which is honestly the same width as a MAG M16 mag (bad angle in the pic, but they are the same), the only part being thicker is the base plate. The major difference is the angle of the mag and the cut in the front of the mag to accommodate mag wells that are not AR-15 spec (see pic).

AEG's / Re: Custom made MGS4 M4

...Why did you wire a collapsible stock gun to the back? Crane stocks I get... collapsible stocks with battery bags are just asking for trouble imo....

...I have no idea why you're calling it a custom MGS4 M4... it's just like any other M4 with a huge silencer (yours actually looks too wide and short), and your RIS isn't long enough to match the MGS4 one to begin with.

What is wrong with wiring to the back with a collapsible stock? nearly every gun I made has had a rear wire setup and I've had several methods (i.e. Buttstock pouch hidden in magazine, lipo battery in buffer tube, etc) over the past decade with out any "trouble" I've asked for. I fail to see issues if it is done properly. Some people just don't prefer crane stocks or other bulky battery stocks or PEQ boxes, it also helps keep the gun's weight balanced when the battery is located in the rear. One more thing, if you look it's not that the rail is not long enough, it's a standard carbine length rail, the reason it looks off is the guy has no gas block on the gun, instead of the PRI gas block that should be on there.. i guess went with the new miracle gas system that chambers the next round with hopes and dreams. To the OP, do yourself a favor and put SOME kind of gas block on there. if you want the correct one for the MGS4 gun you can find it HERE or if you like the low profile look at least put a low pro gas block on there but either way put something on there. I know it's airsoft and it doesn't need it but it looks way off not having one.

That is true but i don't think thats it.
Only other game I can think of off hand that has a gun with and SIR on it is Rainbow Six Vegas 2... on the Barrett M468

New PTS EMAG's on a VFC HK416 (real ones are made for HK416's, FN F2000's, L-85's and other rifles that use STANAG magazines with different shaped magwells)
