So is the P 90 a good gun or not, I've heard equally both ways.

it depends what you like. I think they are good only because they can go through 30 layers of kavlar with AP rounds.

Ever since I bought it I've loved the way it shoots and fits when you cradle it in the pocket of your shoulder to fire it.  Rounds hit the steel target almost seemingly as soon as they leave the gun........pull the trigger and hear the 'ptang!'  Although most indoor ranges won't let you shoot that caliber round because it is so fast and their backstops aren't designed for it.

It's also much easier to fire the weapon while advancing on a target than it is if you are using an M4/16 variant.  0 barrel jump and 0 recoil.
