PSA: Public Service Announcement (yeah right )

I'm bored at work, and decided to do a random google search. I don't know why, but decided to type in "digital". One of the suggestions that popped up was "digital drugs". I got interested and clicked it. What I found blew my mind...

Best explanation I found of this sutff in 5min. of searching.
http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/you-20/201007/i-dosing-digital-drugs-and-binaural-beats

Turns out that a while ago (maybe three to four months tops), raves and rants about these binaural beats/sounds were a possible gateway drug. Is it true? I doubt it. The branches of this stuff root back to 1839, when they used sound waves to enhance a person's mood, help with pain, etc., by "altering brain waves". I think it's possible to achieve these proclaimed effects with a little bit of booze and a roofie while listening to this stuff. I don't know... I know they've also treated some insomniacs with aural treatment, maybe time to see if my insomnia can kick the music's ass???

What do you guys think about this stuff? Do you really think they can master sound waves to make you feel like your dropping some acid, rolling, and cracked out? I doubt it. Maybe you guys tried it out of sheer curiosity, expecting it to be a hoax? you guys think this could be the next gateway drug, and I should stock up on these files so I can sell them on the street corner? ;) Let me hear your thoughts guys!

So as stated in OP: Human Shield, I've recently broken my dominant wrist. Anyone ever have this happen? How fast did you guys adjust to being fully ambidextrous? Let me know you're favorite story of breaking your wrist  [smilie=armata_pdt_34.gif]

Gas Powered Guns / KSC/KWA intake valve for G18C
« on: June 24, 2010, 10:06:25 PM »
So I've searched Airsoft Atlanta, eHobbyAsia, AS Outlet, Evike, AS MegaStore, and a few other places... but no one seems to carry an intake valve for the KSC G18's :(

If anyone knows where to find them, please help me out. I like to keep spare parts, but would like to replace the one I have now. Also, yes I've tried KSC/KWA's site, and couldn't find anything directly (which I find weird since they started producing uppers and extended mags again due to the Magpul FPG release). Thank you guys in advance!

Accessories & Gear / Magazine disassembly
« on: June 19, 2010, 06:43:00 PM »
I know chris is gonna think I'm a moron for not asking him this question before buying his mags (but I'm human, so forgive me).

How would one take apart some Star magazines? They seem to be one piece, all plastic, and I've yet to find anywhere that explains how to disassemble these suckers. Some have minor jams that are easily to work around by hitting the mags. But in case I need to strip them down after a desert game to clean them, I gotta know how to clean them (as lube is only a temporary fix that makes it all worse in time). Yes, I tried the funky screw at the bottom, and it seems that they do nothing, or something I can't put my finger on. I'll post pictures if anyone needs them for reference, just having issues with lighting/focus right now.

Gas Powered Guns / KWA G18C
« on: May 22, 2010, 02:18:05 PM »
Hey guys... so I'm new to the Glocks, and have finally gotten a deal on a 18C. So now, I have to ask you guys this: where could I find a tight bore that would work for the KWA/KSC Glock 17/18, as well as a new recoil spring and metal two tone slide? I've been looking around, and it seems these parts are harder to come by since nobody makes the Glocks anymore  . Also, if anyone has a G18 they are willing to sell for parts (non-working of course), I'd be interested. spare parts are always awesome!

This searching has gotten me kinda flustered, as most places that had parts before have them listed on their site, but are out of stock constantly (mainly because they stopped carrying them)  ](*,)

AEG's / handguard on an M4
« on: April 24, 2010, 06:44:03 PM »
Judging by the picture, would you guys recommend putting a longer handguard on my M4? I think a longer handguard would look sufficiently better, and also help accommodate a larger battery. I am also working on a way of keeping the handguard together better, as the cap isn't doing much of a job (pretty much just sitting there lol). I don't foresee this being an issue, but the vets here must have a better opinion than me.

Any ideas guys?

AEG's / fully customizing an m4
« on: April 18, 2010, 01:33:40 PM »
hey guys, i'm looking to get myself into debt... i mean get myself broke ;) ...by putting in a few days of installing parts onto a new m4. this gun will is going to be all custom, the only stock part will probably be the gearbox from whoever manufactures the gun (unless i have to downgrade the spring to a 110). first off, looking towards a KWA, or G&G. any ideas on which models to get? money isn't an issue here, just looking to see how much i'm going to need to save up for it all. my use for it is some cqb, and mainly small desert field play. possibly going to be doing milsim, but i'd most likely be a recon/infantry man in those games. so, i guess here's the real question i'm asking: what gun(s) have the best gearbox inside them for cqb play, with a pretty high rof? think of a gunner's rifle, that's what i'm aiming for, just don't remember what the technical term is.

also, do you guys think that a better alternative would be to just build from scratch? buy the body, gearbox, etc. all separate? if so, what gearboxes are out there that offer pretty high rof, as well as quality shim jobs, and are very reliable?

well, i'm not really a n00b per se lol, really just new to the site. just mainly here to catch deals in the classifieds, and maybe sell my guns as i grow tired of them to continue upgrading new ones, or something else that occupies my time. i'm looking forward to maybe getting some people together within the chandler/tempe area for some milsim stuff, maybe even just casual play. let me know guys!

and i guess my first question shall be here.... just because ;)

what would you guys recommend i do with my CA M4? it's a sportline, plastic body, with a tight bore, and "upgraded" battery (woohoo!). i'm not sure as to whether it's really worth the money to slap a metal body on it, replace the handguards with an RIS style handguard, new crane stock, silencer and extended barrel, tactical optics (flashlight, red dot sight, etc.), grenade "launcher" attachment, maybe second gearbox for having a spare in the field, and maybe some others i cant think of off the top of my head. i guess the question really is, is the gearbox worth salvaging of this functional gun if i decide to practically build a gun from scratch? or would you guys think buying a salvage gun somewhere, and modifying from there is a better start? if so, which gun is best?

money is pretty much not going to stop this gun, or me. just trying to figure out if i should sell this gun or sell it for parts and keep the gearbox. i'm looking to have a completely custom gun, one i know is reliable, and can say i put the effort into it (i like bulding these guns from a lump of parts). anybody have ideas on which m4's have the best gearboxes, best shim jobs, reliability, etc.?
