Reviews / Re: G&P Marine Stock
« on: August 03, 2012, 04:29:21 PM »
Continued*
Look while on Gun: This is a great looking stock, it is nice and flush with the receiver and also has a great feeling finish. One thing that did bug me on the look was the seam on the very top of the stock  that runs all the way down it.
Final notes: This is a great stock, if you want a unique look or your gun is front heavy. There is a ton of room for your battery and it is very solid. A few negative things about this stock are that you may have to modify your gun to be able to use the stock. Also when you put the stock onto your gun, it is very hard due to limited space to hold your screw driver (used pliers to hold the screwdriver). It is not difficult but it takes time to access your very large battery compartment.
Pros: Heavy, Sturdy, Solid, Great looking, Metal, Huge battery compartment
Cons: Heavy, modification may be required to use, takes time to access battery compartment, has a seam on top.  I will also be painting mine black soon so expect some more pictures!

Reviews / G&P Marine Stock
« on: August 03, 2012, 03:19:07 PM »
Hello, and welcome to my review of the G&P Marine Stock!

Background: I was tired of the wobble and look of my crane stock and didn't want to go with a full stock. I placed my order on AirsoftGi on Monday, July 30th around 8:45 at night and it was processed the next day. The stock cost $105.00 and in my order I also purchased a $5.00 patch, with a discount coupon and free shipping I paid a total of $102.65. It arrived to my door Friday, August 3rd at 10:37 Am. I believe I got the last one because after I ordered mine, it went out of stock online here -> http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=3364

Packaging: It came in box that was very large in comparison to the Stock. It was well packaged with packing paper on bottom and top although I have no worries about it breaking.
The stock came nicely packaged in a thick clear plastic with the separate parts individually packaged.
Everything that came included. The swivel mount was not mounted in the box.

First Reaction: When I first took it out of the package I was immediately impressed. The weight of it was much more than my crane stock.  I put all the parts of the crane stock (the screw and sling mount thing are inside) on my scale and it's weight was 14.3 Ounces.
After I put all the pieces of the Marine Stock on the scale I was gratified by a very solid 1Lb and 11.3 Ounces.
Mounting: In order to use this stock the piece on the back of your receiver that your stock goes on can only be 25 millimeters. Depending on the gun you have (I had a G4 or GnG) and I had to cut about 1 inch off of the tube.
Now in order to get the stock apart you have to unscrew 4 hex screws that hold the two parts of the stock together, I have read some things about this and I have to agree with them that this is a pain in the butt. The screws screw into a nut thing that goes on the other side of the stock.

When I tried to attach the stock to my gun I encountered a problem. Due to the Skeleton style of the stock the way to attach it was very difficult to tighten the screw that goes into your gun. After I tightened it by hand (only could get two fingers on the screwdriver) the stock wobbled side to side a little. I solved this problem by using a pair of pliers to tighten the screw.

Battery Space: There is a lot of room in this stock for your favorite batteries. I got a 9.6 nunchuck in and still had room for an additional cell in length and in the picture the battery is sitting nicely in just one side and the middle of the stock so I believe you could get a tri-leg nunchuck in like this one http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?products_id=24476.

General Off-Topic Discussion / Re: What is humanity coming to?
« on: June 20, 2012, 10:26:16 PM »
That is one hell of a speech. I am sixteen and take pride in saying that I am among those in my generation who will get up out of his seat on the lightrail and help an elderly woman into it. We as a generation are failing to realize that those who are older than us have more knowledge then we know about. There are too many in my generation who think they know everything and are king of the world. And then there are those who just follow the crowd and are afraid to stand up and speak what they believe.

General Off-Topic Discussion / Any fishermen out there?
« on: May 24, 2012, 10:51:42 PM »
As the title says are there any fishermen out there? If there are what do you use (type of rod/fishing style) and where do you go?
At one point or another chances are I have done it. My favorite is fly-fishing and I have been tying my own flies for about 6 months. I have fished in many of the lakes and rivers in AZ and many of the rivers and a few lakes in New Mexico with various means of tackle and rods. Also have gone out of San-Diego on a few long range trips. The place I go to most often is Dead Horse Ranch, at least when they are stocking trout. I also got the az big fish of the year award in 08' for a 35 inch catch and released carp. :)

The lock-in I went too didn't that many small kids. Most of the people there were probably 15+ with a few kids. You can watch their YouTube videos of shooting the Pinatas, everyone was either in group A or B.

I'm pretty sure the price will be around $380. On airsoftgi thier mystery boxes had a redemption code for the kriss and they said ithad a value of $385 or something. Those mystery boxes has been sold out and deleted from thier site now.

AEG's / Re: Do you need a longer inner barrel with a silencer install?
« on: April 28, 2012, 11:07:02 PM »
no. you dont need a longer inner barrel. the "silencer" is merely for looks.
The supressor is just there to hide/protect your longer inner barrel if you were to do that.
