1911's Under $100, and a Question on Propane...
« on: May 14, 2006, 12:40:07 PM »
I was wondering what you guys thought was the best gas 1911 syle GBB pistol for under 100 dollars.

I have been looking at KWC 1911's but i just havent heard much about them.

Also, if i wanted to use propane... Will it work on most gas pistols? Specifically would it work on a HFC Mauser m712/c96 ?

I use propane on all my KJW M9's, shoots well, the only tip I was given (thanx Chip) was to add a little RC shock oil from time to time to keep the o-rings lubed.  Propane is a heck of a lot cheaper, stinks like Sh1T but who cares.

I thought Green Gas was propane with oil and some other chemicals.
HFC 134A is what they call Japenese gas, becuase it is weaker and is used in Jap. models becuase of their being very nice (Not sure really why it is used) Green Gas is made for Taiwanese models and is more powerful.

Green and Red gasses are both considered hfc22. It is just that red is more powerful than green right?

Either Way, My friend uses propane in his Kwc 1911, and it works fine. So if propane is more powerful, that should be ok, since most of the weapons i look at take green, or green and red gasses. (like the mauser)

Thanks for the help, I have been kinda confused on gasses for a while and i am just kinda trying to clarify it...

Thanks, that was very very helpful...... Exactly what i was looking for. I will have to pass that on to some people too.

Too bad the Marushin garand only takes 134a, Id like to get one, but i want to try and keep all of my gas weapons running on the same gas.

Thank you guys for all the help.

Airsplat.com has a KWC 1911 BS Airsoft Gas Blowback Pistol for $59.95 on closeout ( GP-KWC-1162-SH ) excellent gun for the price - bought both versions the other day. shipping is super cheap ($8 or so)

The gun is ABS/metal and has good weight. The low gas capacity is a bummer and it hold like 11 bb's to a clip, but it shoots accurate and hard.
