Books and Gear that is comfortable anything that you are more familiar with that your command will allow. Have friends and family send redbull and monster.
And a Camera, that is a must!

Lots of Porn on your Laptop. Bring a 360/PS3, IPOD, MAYBE a GPS, some nice ear plugs, some good lifting gloves for the gym. and the kinda snival gear you prefer. Being SECFOR, your gonna be rolling in guntrucks and sittin in towers alot (If its anything like OIF III) Get some subsriptions to magazines you like. Other then that dont buy gear 'till you know your AO.

Lol good deal Sgt Keenan. Its pretty quiet here. We got a mortor attack today it was a single round. I was like umm ok is that all you got?? Oh hey watch out for the interpritors also or however you spell it they will sell you junk for like $100 thats worth like $40

You have not lived until you have pissed off a squad of Iraqi Police who want to enter you FOB by doing the most simple thing. They know its my FOB my rules. Funniest time of my life watching them flip out on the ODA  =D>

A good stress relief at night, and good way to just sit and think...

Go up on your roof, lay down in the prone with your rifle. Turn your IR laser on your PEQ15 on, and steadily aim it at a local Afghani's eyes for about 45 minutes while you totally space out. Once they start rubbing their eyes, you know your work is done.

It's like PRK for boogereaters, and it's free of charge to them.

If you can find an IZLID, it's 150mW vs. the 50mW of a PEQ-15.  Just sayin'. :lol:

Haha, do they refer to those as the J-Lense? If so, they used those at the local FOB's that were under blackout conditions to make sure we wern't walking with hands in our pockets and were wearing head gear, instead of watching dudes place IED's that killed good friends of mine on the one fuckin road leading to the FOB. Pouge ass mother fuckers.

I don't have much more advise than what's been offered.  Listen to those that have been there -- if it sounds ridiculous, just give it time, it'll make sense soon enough.  Good luck and thank you for your service.

If Keenan sends you booze, it'll probably have been checked and a bit short from the get go.
