lighten up man, seriously.
I've been nothing but respectful and cordial to you the entire time I've been posting in this thread.

I guess it must be your respectful and cordial manner that got you banned from one of the well respected Socal groups games and forums.

You want closure?  Fine.  You said something incorrect - "zombie game" which it isnt.  I corrected you and stated my reasons for not going to a game put on by friends of mine.

You then continued to blah blah blah, here and on the 858 forum.  Your ass was quickly smoked by the 858 admins and your thread was quickly locked.

You were told by the Strategic Threat game organizers to STFU about the game and shown the proper manner to advertise a game, while at the same time STFU.

How exactly is calling me "Doc Jackass" respectful and cordial ??  Not that I givashit.  I sue people every day... kind of used to being called a jackass.  Been called worse by much better people than you.  Just pointing out your prior inconsistant testimony.

To be honest with you this exchange has been a pleasant distraction for me.  You dislike me, and frankly that warms my cockles.

So as soon as I post this thread I will promptly forget you.  And if you keep spewing I will probably keep pointing out the fact that you have strayed so far from your lane that you are not even on the road anymore.

Fret not however, soon I'm certain I will bore with your insignificant asides and tangents and find some other pleasant distraction to bide my time.

I bid you good day.

I'm not banned from 858airsoft.com.

I'm just choosing on my own accord to not post on there anymore.

And after I non-objectively re-read my posts and yours I can understand now why you took it upon yourself to correct me about the whole "zombie game" statement. I've just been referring to it as that because its what everybody out here has been calling it on the playing fields, at AEX etc.
I understand now that an actual "Zombie Game" and the rules for that game type are different than what they're playing at Strategic Threat.
The "infected" in the STII game are "zombies" I guess in the Resident Evil kind of sense and there's an evil corporation blah blah I feel like a 10 year old talking about this stuff.

And the reason I called you "Doc Jackass" was because I felt that I was being attacked by you in a thread that was supposed to just be a simple announcement for a game. I just could not relate to the nature of your posts. But thats just my opinion, I'm sure you probably thought you were just "schooling a noob" but I felt kind of attacked without provocation from the first line of your first post. Remember everybody has an ego and nobody likes to get "showed up" or take shit from anyone.

And finally I think you're wrong about me disliking you. I've never met you before so aside from your posts in this thread I have no opinion on you whatsoever.
Its my understanding that you've played a big part in many large airsoft OPs over the years and I think thats pretty commendable but beyond that like I said I've never met you and I don't know you so I have not formed an opinion on you as a person.

have a good one

Doc Hollywood, THIS GUY DOES NOT REPRESENT 858AIRSOFT.COM OR ANY OTHER PERSON, BUT HIMSELF. Please do not hold what he has said on your site as what we at 858airsoft.com think. You were my counterpart at Operation Lion Claws VI (I was the Marine 1stSgt) and I look forward to fighting at your side again.  Your desire to not play is an honorable and legitimate reason and look forward to the possibility of playing with you at a future 858airsoft.com operation that is more your style of play.

Hey Lawrence...

I know you and I know the 858 crowd...

and like I said to donut boy, I never dissed 858 or the game.  Actually I like the concept.  And I know its not a zombie game.  Stupidity just brings the lawyer out in me.....

I dont like 10 year old players with hicaps and AEGs shooting 425 fps... but I know the Socal scene there is different.

We have no bad blood my friend.

I never though donut boy was one of yours anyway   ;)

By the way, what up with that POS poser y'all had at LC this year ??  He got busted out pretty bad by the Col.....

well rest assured the next time I hear about an OP I sure as hell won't be talking about it around here.

I used to own this gun too.. the first one I bought was dead after one day but I exchanged it and used the second one for several months.
I added a 120 spring in it to raise the FPS.
I thought it was a pretty good gun. very loud and nice ROF.
the metal body was nice but the RIS and/or crane batteries seemed to make the gun pretty heavy.
the accessories like the sights and switches had the usual Classic Army black spray paint on them so I replaced most of that stuff.
great starter gun but CA's have known issues with their trigger mechanisms and they eventually go out after awhile.
eventually I sold it and got a Marui M4 Carbine because I wanted something with a longer barrel.

Misinformed people?

We read the game rules that clearly state the issues that give rise to certain of the points discussed in this thread.

How is that misinformed exactly?

No one said the game would suck.  Those are YOUR words.

I spoke only for myself when I sad, no thanks.

And if the event is going to be such a blockbuster why would you need to spread the word to have "more people to shoot" anyway?

Might I suggest a reading comprehension course?   ;)

internet argument....

guess they're right when they say no good deed goes unpunished..
what was supposed to be a positive announcement for a fun event resulted in a shitstorm of negativity brought on by a number of misinformed people.
all I wanted to do was spread the word so there'd be more people for me to shoot.
In light of these events I will not be attending this game and am now in agreeance with you AZ boys in saying that this OP is gonna SUCK DONKEY BALLS ;)

getting shot by a 10 year old with a $1,000 575 fps sniper rifle

You can pickup KJW M700's for under $200.  Those chrono at 550-570fps.  That is well within the price range for most parents and I see nothing about 10 year olds not being allowed to use sniper rifles, so...

I'm with Doc on all 3 of his points.

Also, there is an edit button for a reason.

guess you just don't have what it takes to play an 858 OP ;)

Yeah...I saw the pictures from Civil War 07.

I would not consider that a feather in my cap, exactly.

thats too bad that you think that.
it was a great OP and I encourage anyone who likes airsoft to attend the next one because its just getting better each year.
its gonna be hard to top the chopper from this year but I'm sure they'll think of something  ;)

so anyways, back on topic.
hopefully most of the "pool shitters" have flushed their bowels already and will leave this thread open to positive and constructive posts that this OP deserves.
anyone else ever played at Mr. Paintball in escondido? CW07 was held there and second sunday games (as mentioned previously by mr. passive aggressive) are hosted there by the st. james grenadiers.
I've only been up there twice... and got poison oak both times.
the second time I had to go the urgent care to get prednisoine.
I'm heading up there again next month to do a second sunday game and hopefully won't come in contact with it again. I'm not sure if it thrives in the heat or the cold so by october I'm not sure if it'll have gotten better or worse (there were literally fields of it during the Civil War).
if anybody knows anything about that plant godawful please advise and wish me luck.. ;)

Its not a zombie game its an assimilation game.  Pops over at 858 would be more than happy to explainthat to you I'm sure....

858 does put on a decent gig and the field at Mr Paintball is the home field for the St James Grenadiers.. lots of hills, valleys, jungle swamp and trees.... it will kick your ass for sure.

The downside is the HiCaps and drum magazines.... the high FPS limits and the plethora of kiddies with no honor and no sense of sportsmanship that abound.

Thanks, but no thanks.

OK but the people who are "infected" will be considered zombies... hence the term "zombie game". its the whole premise of the game... read the back story, its kind of a resident evil thing.
and 425fps is nothing. on the weekends I typically play with guys that are shooting 450-500fps but for big OPs like this we all have to compromise.
and FYI I personally know or have played with almost 3/4 of the guys already registered and I wouldn't consider any of them "kiddies with no honor". most of us are Civil War '07 veterans and I didn't see a single one of those guys cheating during the entire game. I also play with a lot of them every saturday in Lakeside and they don't cheat there either.
maybe you've personally had a different experience with the 858airsoft clan but I can tell you that for the most part all of us are honorable players and if you come to one of our OPs you're guaranteed to have a good time.

I never said there was anything wrong with 858... in fact to the contrary I said that 858 puts on a good gig.  I know Pops over at 858 as well as many other "858" type people and never intoned that I held them in disfavored light.

Zombie games are entirely different and probably arise out of the RARPing or LARPing (Real Action Role Playing or Live Action Role Playing) zombie stuff popular around many colleges.

But I observe that my vocabulary is likely quite different than yours so lets just leave it at "zombie" since I already know the backstory and premise for the game.

So when you say "zombie" in the context of this game what you are describing is a person who has been inoculated with nanotech biomechanical that can rapidly regenerate tissue at the molecular level.

Zombie to me is a walking dead, mindless, flesh eating, disorganized and easily killed body that tends to not have nanotech devices flowing through its absent bloodstream.

In effect the storyline allows for a 60 second regen rule for "infected" players.  But that does not a zombie make.

In any event, to more important things.

It takes only one 10 year old with an over upgraded AEG with a box bag or hicap to soil the experience of an airsoft game.  Neither did I say that such was typical of 858 events.

The points of concern that allows me to make an educated choice to not attend this particular event are as follows:

That 10 year old are allowed to play.

That HiCap Mags are allowed in play.

That the FPS limits are 425 with .20 BBs.

Nothing more.

Minimum age is... 10????

Is this a joke or something?  Hicaps aside, 10 is just ridiculous.  The prospect of 10 year olds with 600fps rifles.... * shudder *

No thanks.

I think you're more likely to get stabbed by a barechested Chuck Norris with a rubber knife at this game than you are getting shot by a 10 year old with a $1,000 575 fps sniper rifle
