Best method to remove Krylon?
« on: December 29, 2010, 02:49:27 PM »
I've looked at a few links about different ways to remove Krylon, but I'm just looking for another opinion.

If anyone has used a particularly successful way to remove Krylon, please reply.

Thanks

What type of material are you trying to remove it from? You could try paint thinner or acetone if it won't harm the base material, or just paint over it.

I'm removing the Krylon from metal (flash hider and suppressor).

I soaked the flash hider in rubbing alcohol and the just wiped it off no problem.

Going to do the same with the suppressor.

Thank you.

No, it didn't damage the original finish.

I took the Krylon off of a replica ops inc. suppressor and it still had completely unharmed markings on it.

I only had 2 parts which I submersed in the rubbing alcohol. After letting the parts soak in rubbing alcohol for about 45 minutes, I removed the Krylon with a rag and a wire brush.

*I have not tried this with plastic*

Thanks

I just found out finger nail polish remover works like MAGIC!!!! It didn't hurt Magpul plastic or the origional finish. You just use a cotton cloth and wipe it off!!!! I didn't even have to scrub.  :D/  :D/
