Wiring to rear
« on: January 19, 2011, 10:46:52 AM »
Can Anyone guestimate on how much gearbox would charge to wire a G&G m4 to the rear?
Thanks

My apartment is infested with koala bears. Its the cutest infestation ever. Much better than cockroaches. I turn the lights on and a bunch of koala bears scatter. I\'m like, come back! I want to hold one of you, and feed you a leaf. -Mitch Headberg

If you wanted to go the easy route, you could just get a wiring harness wired to the rear.  That's a pretty simple upgrade, you just open up the gearbox and swap out the old harness for the new one.

Harder route would be to buy some wiring and rewire the whole thing yourself.

I just picked up a m4 that was wired to the rear, but needed to be redone. I dont have anther m4 lying around and i need to know how long to make the wires that go to the motor. Therefore the distance that i need is from the bottom of the gb to the motor connector. And yes I know that the pos. wire is longer. Anybody who can answer tonight wins an acm shotgun(you pick up). It fires one bb per shot.

Pull out the old wires and measure them! That would take a whole 5 min to do. Now where can I pick up the shotgun....jk unless you really want to give it to me.

5 and 1/2 in. for positive and 4 and 1/4 in for negative. Had to do it by trial and error. That is the distance from gb bottom to point where the cable meets the stop in the spade connector. hope this helps some one in the future. :-"

I have a rear wiring harness with all the wires from a CA m4 if anyone is interested. Also it really isn't that hard to rewire a front harness but if you can't solder don't mess with it.
