The gun in the weblink pic is a plastic HK416. A real M4 isnt 14lbs, I don't know for sure what a real 416 tipps the scales at but I doubt its 14lbs. So I'm willing to bet your more in the 3-7lbs range.

Either way M4/416 style rifles aren't "sniper" platforms, and it would look rather goofy.

My gun came with a cheap Bi-pod and it doesn't work well at all.

1.) I'ts cumbersome and limits my mobility on the field.

2.) Depending on where your RAIL is it adds to much weight in the front of the gun, on my sniper rifle it clamps on the barrel and is really far foward. I wouldn't say it makes it harder to aim that way but it is a little awkward.

Yeah, I had a bipod on my CA SR-25SD, and I took it and the silencer off halfway through the first game i played with it... its not even a sniper rifle anymore, it's a .308 m16 lol.

Yeah, I've been airsofting a few years and learned the hard way early that sniping in airsoft battles isn't that great of an idea. Lets just say good sniping spot, one miss, and raped  . If you miss your shot then you are toast.

A: a real/good sniper rifle in airsoft is pricey
B: in the airsoft world its more like hunting then sniping
C: you like many others are not "born" snipers
D: its not cool like the video games.
E: you have to be pretty good to pull that ish off anyways.
i think most everyone could vouch for me on this, but i'm just trying to help you out since you seem pretty new to airsoft

Although I agree with Twitchy and Airsofter1, I feel I should say that "cool" and "fun" are relative. If you are extremely patient and intelligent about how you play, sniping can be a lot of fun and very effective. However, training to be that way... Not so easy. Generally you need to have the mentality for it before you start.

Sums it up pretty nicely. Also, most games people play focus on close combat, and thus are very short.

In longer scenarios, sniping can be viable, but it takes a LOT of patience and care. By patience, I don't mean waiting around for a few minutes for a target to appear. I mean taking 30 minutes to an hour to crawl into position, then another hour or three to wait for a lone target to enter your line of fire. Not taking extreme care with your movement and shots will undoubtedly end with you getting hit before you can do anything.
