Real Firearms / Re: OC Arizona. -Open Carrying in Arizona-

Please, I'm begging you, please educate yourself before you carry a weapon.  If you don't and continue with what you're planning on doing, at best you're going to get harrassed, at worst you're going to get yourself thrown in jail or shot.

Take a concealed carry course, or an intro to firearms course.  Spend some time reading ARS.  Don't watch youtube for info on your gun rights.  When/if you choose to open carry, buy a good belt holster with retention, and don't wear a drop-leg, for God's sake.  If you have a drop-leg holster and you aren't a cop or a soldier and in uniform/on duty, you deserve whatever shit you catch for it.

The Bates look cool, but I'm leaning towards something waterproof.  Wearing desert boots with ventilation in snow is...unpleasant.  That last game near Tucson had me worrying about my feet.

I'll have to head down to REI soon, try on Fugitives.  Also want to try out some Lowa Zephyrs.

Thanks for all the input guys, feel free to keep it coming.

Hey dude, how's life?

Check out the Asolo Fugitive GTXs. I have used mine for a lot of s***. They look like civi hiking shoes.

Pretty good.  Looks like my new schedule will let me get back to playing some airsoft again, so that's cool.

Fugitives are definately on the list to check out.  Any idea how they compare to the FSN 95s?

Real Firearms / Re: Springfield XD Subcompact

FWIW, I've heard mixed reviews about the reliability of XDs.

I've heard little to no question on the reliability of Glocks.

Try as many different guns as you can, pick something you feel comfortable shooting, carrying, and have faith in it's working.

The best gun for somebody else may not be what's best for you, however, there is something to the fact that Glocks are the choice for many, many people.  Also remember that you can conceal damn near any handgun out there if you're willing to dress based on your need to conceal.

I swear by Glocks, and so does pretty much every Glock owner I know.  Simple, effective, and reliable.  IMHO, the most value for the money you're going to get.  The difference between the 17 and 19 comes down to size.  I prefer the feel of the compacts in my hand, but it's personal preference.

I would agree with Gauge on a lot of what he said.  The storyline is great and all, but let's be honest, when game on is called, it's all about "shoot those guys, run here."  I've played a lot of airsoft over the past few years, and I have never, ever, seen such intensive storylines make any difference on the game.  Less storytime, more shootytime would have been prefferable.  Some background is kinda cool, Dungeons and Dragons on a hiking trip isn't.

One thing that I think would go a LOOOOOONG way to making games run smoother is uniform requirements.  Half the time i couldn't tell who the hell was on my team; PEDAR had desert Marpat, ACU, Multicam, black, tigerstripe, DCUs.... etc.  Some of the CIA guys seemed to be wearing camo.  Have stricter uniform requirements.  Venezuela goes woodland/green marpat, PEDAR goes desert/ tan marpat.  CIA wears solid colors.  Something simple like that.  We had a lot of trouble figuring out who was who.

That stuff said, my respect goes out to those who put this game on.  I recognize that planning, organizing, setting up, and running a game with that many people can't be easy.  Cool props and whatnot, too.

AEG's / Re: conflicting information.

From what I've been reading, the TM Socom has an EG700 motor.

As an owner of a TM M14, I love them.  An advantage is that the hopup adjustment is in front of the magwell, so you can be adjusting hopup between shots.  That said, a buddy of mine has the CA version and loves his.

I'm in the testing process for Phoenix right now.  Good choices with Glendale and Peoria, I've heard a lot of good things about them.  Don't get relaxed when you look at the physical standards though, most Valley recruits go through ALEA together, and the demands are the same of everyone regardless of department.

A website I find really helpful is:

A lot of the posts are made by active LE and others applying.  If at all possible, get yourself into a ride along.  I got to do one in the Slope on a Friday night...good times.  Feel free to PM me anytime.

FPS limits at national ops, as far as I've seen, is 375 fps with a .25.  With a .20, that turns out to be what, 410-420?  Anyone know for sure?

My first game I wore a Green Hoodie, and black jeans and a piantball mask that was half cut away so I could shoulder my weapon.

I remember seeing you and thinking, "who is the scary old guy with the slim jims?"

I still think that when I see Charlie...
