Spring Stuck in Piston
« on: March 24, 2011, 03:25:12 PM »
So im working on my friend's P90, and the spring wont come out of the piston. I'm trying to put a new spring into it and boost its power to roughly 330-350 FPS but i cannot do this till the stuck spring comes out

Some pistons (like mine) have it set up where the spring is actually attached to the piston on the inside.  Unscrew the piston head and see if that releases it.

Tokyo Marui. We ended up just tearing the spring out because it's a one-piece piston.

As stated by derekr44 the spring is attached to the piston on the inside on TM's.

Did you wreck the piston?  I guarantee you that your spring will be compressed about 1/2 inch more because of the attached spring guide inside of it.  Not to mention it will make that horrible twanging sound unless the new spring is attached appropriately.

Not anymore

Thats interesting, because I've owned a few TM's in the past and never heard that, or had that problem.

Oh well, now theres a different spring in the gun.

The gearbox is cycling fine and its not making a twang at all.
