I will start by answering the yes or no question first... No the SR-25 does not use M16/M4 mags. As far as using it... I wanted to build an "Arma-snipe" but instead started with a railed M16 and then built it into a SAM-R because I wanted the mag commonality. If you want an armalite that is unique (and don't mind less common mags) then the SR-25 could be the way to go, however if you just want to build any form of "arma-snipe" then you may want to look into some of the M16 derivatives as they may be cheaper in the long run.

Its one of the ICS M4 pistols... His little tiny front rail unit was wobbling for some reason and he was having trouble tightening it, so I let him borrow the carry handle off of my 16 to hold it secure.

This is what you call "DON'T BE THAT GUY."

Echo AEG $150
Eye pro $20
BDU top $19
Being that guy PRICELESS

You really should try to be at least somewhat fair to "that guy" seeing as he isn't on here to defend himself...

It's an ICS M4 that he has not an Echo 1...the guy is new to the sport and is on his way to racking up $100K in college debt... He always conducts himself well at games is sportsmanlike (which is more than I can say for some people I have played with in the past). If he feels that his kit is sufficient, then more power to him.

I personally would not play looking like that, however... making fun of someone who is making due with what he has is a good way to turn a lot of people off who are fun to play with.

As far as Tru-Spec goes, From my experience, they fade quite rapidly no matter what you do to them. One of the guys I play with here in Prescott got a set about a month and a half ago... after three weekends of play (and never washing them) his MARPAT looked a lot like ACU. Another guy up here has both Propper and Tru-Spec... After a couple of washings his Tru-Spec is also turning to ACU. His Propper has held up quite well for the month he has had it. As for me, I saved up and got some surplus MARPAT on eBay.  For about $50 you can get the blouse and trousers, and If you want to spend another $25 or so you can get two covers. This is surplus issue MARPAT and I can say that for the two and a half months that I have owned it I have not seen it fade any.

Thanks for your input, I did consider what the airlines would have me carrying (I have several friends in the program...they aren't allowed to say much about it). So unfortunately I was unable to determine what the constraints were for firearms in the program.

Sorry for the necro...but it's my thread and I have finally come to a decision. After much research and careful consideration (mainly to the level of my wallet) I came to the decision to go with the Springfield XD Service in .45ACP.  It may in the end turn out to be too large for concealed carry, but for my immediate needs I felt that it was what I was looking for. Thanks guys for all of your help.

i would advise you to buy a gas powered one, simply becuase of the actuall shot gun idea of multiple bb's

TM shotguns also fire a 3 bb spread. They have 3 seperate barrels that each fire a bb every time you fire it.

TSD is not a manufacturer, they merely rebrand their M14...Which from my understanding is also a rebrand of the Kart, Its the exact same gun with a different name slapped on it.

Thanks for your input, But I am looking for info from people who have owned one.

Kileyhaz, Thanks... It sounds like the AGM is definately the better of the Clone M14s currently available.  I might just hold off for the CYMA, or just save a little more and get the CA.

Ok here is my interpretation of clones...they are a great way to try out the game and see if it is for you. However they lack the long term durability/reliability of the higher end guns. They are also a good way to get a specific style of gun that you want but don't intend to play with much.

"most clones from anyone other than echo 1 or JG all suck"

That statement is TOTALLY incorrect, Echo 1 rebrands guns from all sorts of manufacturers (as stated in a previous thread). Echo 1 does not change the gun in any way, but rather merely repackages it and adds a 30 day warranty. So based on your statement, the ECHO 1 AK RIS is a high quality clone whereas the CYMA CM.028 is a horrible clone... EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE THE EXACT SAME GUN (with the exception of the RIS which is only found on some of the CYMA guns).

I would say that if you want a clone, Decide on what kind of gun you want, ie. M16, M14 AK47 ETC. then do some research to find out who makes that style of gun and the reputations of the various models. (The quality of clones can vary between two models by the same company)

Echo 1 Doesn't make a full length M14...This is for a DMR so a SOCOM won't work.

Besides, the Echo 1 Socom is a rebrand of the Kart anyway (so it won't be any more reliable, it will just come in a pretty blue box).

Its either KWA or KJW (can't remember which at the moment) that offers a G19 with a compensated slide. As far as trades...I didn't think it would have trades (to my knowledge KWA doesn't put trades on their guns, but I figured it may have an aftermarket metal slide).

I know that this is a fairly cheap gun, So its not like I am expecting CA/TM quality... With that being said I have a few questions about the gun that I have not been able to get a strait answer to online...so I am asking anyone here who has owned the gun at some point.

1: Are the mags truly TM compatible, I have read some reviews that say that the TM Standards and TM compatible midcaps wont feed through the gun. (Other reviews state that they feed fine)

2: Will the gun accept a tightbore barrel? (A few reviews are stating that the inner diameter of the outer barrel is too small for a tightbore barrel)

3: Any other quirks that I should know about.

I don't intend for this gun to receive alot of use, I have other guns for that...this is going to be more of a DMR project...I just want to know at this point if it will even be feasible to do anything to it.

My understanding is that it is a regulatory issue...not sure on the specifics but I know when I was in Washington, the Wal-Mart there had a sign stating that only certain Wal-Marts were elidgable to carry firearms and ammo.
