Tempe Airsoft field, staff, and customers
« on: April 14, 2013, 08:26:23 PM »
So on April 13, a buddy and I went to Tempe Paintball because I had a free pass. I was able to redeem that pass and my friend bought his "ticket". So we got in and saw not that many people but a good amount, including us. We set up, geared up, and being the person I am, I started to get to know the people that we were to play against. I saw it as an advantage to have a more friendly experience and as a way to have fun games. The first ref was ok, he did his job but at a little-over-the-minimum grade. It was still fun even though he made my buddy and I sit out most of the games. Eventually more players came in and the same strategy I applied earlier about knowing the players was put into effect. The result ended in even more friends and better games. Also a new ref came on and this guy was chill and made fair team and enjoyable decisions. He had us play 1 match to test out who could be on what teams so that the good people could have a fair "challenge". Casually he set my buddy and I on the team that needed the challenge and his strategy worked. We had so much fun with the challenge and games of 4 v 8 and 2 v 4. It was fantastic. I enjoyed my time there even though my hand was crippled after he assigned me to become a terminator(guardian for a president, cannot get out, but I didn't take advantage of that and played fair). The ref was a good man and gave me an ice pack and we joked about how I played one handed. so moral of the story: have fun and pride in airsoft, you never know what good friends you can make.

Im glad you had a good time at our feild. Hope to see you out there more. You said a ref made you and your friends sit out for most of the games, was there any reason for that?

because we had our experience and custom guns, so just to be fair to other people he made us sit out most of the games, but it was ok and i understand entirely

I don't understand. Just put all the inexperienced players on one side, and the experienced ones on the other. When I play and it's a small crowd, it's usually me and two buddies vs everybody else. It's not unfair, they may have a bigger team, but we still get games when we clean house.

I hate when refs at tempe make me and my team sit out of some of the airsoft games because we are good and look like we actually play airsoft. I understand that there are kids there and you want them to have a good time, but me and my team also pay just like everyone else and we want to play as much airsoft that we can when we go. That is the reason why we go. Other than that I think that Tempe Airsoft & Paintball is a great place to play airsoft and own people. One ref gave us the name seal team six when my team played there one time.
It's time to operate!!!

I really wish I knew which ref was doing this. I've NEVER had this happen to me unless it's EXTREMELY packed with little kids or something, which makes it understandable to me.

bird:
the reason why this doesnt happen to us is because of the days we choose to go. when we all play with the people we know there is no reason to sit some people out because we all know each other and we dont realy careabout that kind of stuff. they probly go on saturdays and they make them sit out to make it more fair for the lil/inexperienced players that are attending the games during that day.
never underestimate the things you dont know.

They probably made you sit out so that the other players (who may have very well been playing their first game) could have fun without being murdered in seconds of the game starting. Maybe split up your team so there's a couple of you on each side next time?
