Just moved from Hawaii
« on: July 14, 2013, 01:05:14 PM »
Hey guys! Just moved here from Oahu, I will be a freshman at ASU this year. Been playing airsoft for about 5 years now, lot of outdoor fields in Hawaii with a few cqb places. I stopped playing for about a year during senior year to get things situated and now im ready to start again! Unfortunately I sold all my awesome custom guns when I stopped, but I just bought a kwa cqr to get me started up again (Great gun). Was wondering about any good airsoft places around the tempe. Just wanted to introduce myself and hopefully meet you guys out on the field!

Also I noticed theres a lot of cqb arenas in Arizona, whats a good solid GBB pistol that wont break the bank?

I've been to Oahu. GREAT place. Welcome to the Valley of the Sun! Its always nice to see some new faces.
You happen to be in luck ma friend! about a couple miles away from ASU, right off of Apache Blvd and Mcclintock rd is Tempe Paintball!
It just happens to be a favorite for some of the guys here. Though not the biggest place, its still great place to sling some plastic and have a lot of fun. Plus, most of the time, ya wont have to worry about little kids there.
People here on the forums usually organize meet-ups to see who'se down to go where. And Tempe Paintball always has half-price admission on Thursdays or Fridays (someone here will know. haha)
Hope to see you on the field!

(Also, check out the "For SALE" part of the forums, you'll always find some neat stuff. Personally, I'd reccomend a Kwa ATP. But if you prefer a different style, then there's always more to choose from)
I realize that while most people suck, there are still some genuine characters that exist out here. I'll show my appreciation by being genuine in return.
Love the sport.

Welcome man,

I'd like to clear up the Tempe paintball situation! At the moment it's half price on Wednesdays and Thursdays ($13.50) and $26 on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. But once the summer is over they might go back to only having weekend games (no wed and thurs) which will put Friday at half price again. Check out the RSVP section of the forum and there's currently a thread about Tempe Paintball this Thursday, we host them every week.   As long as your CQR is stock you should be good to play within FPS limits (350 Max) There's some great guys there, that would be more then willing to help you out if you have any questions.

Welcome marcusun,

Tempe airsoft is 1/2 price on Thurs night, it is one block south of the Apache trail/Main on the east side of McClintock, very close to ASU...
Exarach is usually there, he builds custom pistols at a very fair price...

You can contact him here on AA he is a local guy and can supply you with anything you might need... Give him a shout here on AA...
I am just a chalk line on the sidewalk waiting for the next rain to wash me off...
For the time I am here I am what I am...

Seems everyone beat me to it.

Tempe is a very nice field. VERY close up and in your face action. As birdman said, there's half-price play every Wednesday (12-5) and Thursday (5-10). Myself, Exarach, Old Dog, and a few others are regulars there on Thursdays. Check out the full hours and rules here: http://www.tempepaintball.com/AIRSOFT.php Even if your gun shoots over the limit, TPB has downgraded springs to get it to the 350 limit (along with a lot of other airsoft essentials) and I always have my tool kit in my rifle case, so I you're more than welcome to use them.

As Old Dog said, Exarach makes excellent Hicapas GBBs (in both combat and competition configurations). PM him on there on the boards about a build or come on down to TPB and talk to him about it.

As tyedye said, the FOR SALE section is a great place to start rebuilding your arsenal and kit. There's always some good stuff up there for a good price. PM me if you're in need of some BDUs or some gear. I've got a few things I need to get rid of.

All that said, glad to have you aboard. Field games are going to start up here in a couple of months, so there's going to be some nice outdoor play as well as CQB. We're a little different than Hawaii, but we've got some very nice places to play around here. :) Keep an eye out on the RSVP section to see what's going on.

Welcome and look forward to playing with you soon!

Tempe airsoft is filled with action. Super fun and fast paced... It is a little bit small, but that is wat makes it fun........ There's another place in gilbert called Vanguard Airsoft... Its bigger and wat i think more of a "Airsoft Business" ... They have a full proshop and lots of refs (all great) and technicians. Vanguard is more up and running, but both places you will have alot of fun! As for pistol wise, if you dont want to get a custom pistol then go with Tokyo Mauri.. Hope you have fun airsofting in AZ!

......These are my opinions. Both places are great and have nothing against neither of them :)
