REGISTRATION IS CLOSED

STALKER: Freedom Rising is the sequel to our succesful first game, Stalker: The Road to Pripyat. It is an upcoming scenario game to be hosted at SASCO AO this October 13th. Based off of the popular video game and film, Stalker takes place after the Chernobyl Nuclear disaster, with teams fighting for control in the irradiated "Zone". You can visit our Facebook group (http://www.facebook.com/groups/204125249657908/ (http://www.facebook.com/groups/204125249657908/)), and join to get on the spot updates about the game.

The Story Thus Far -

This game will focus heavily on the events near the end of the last game, with Freedom capturing the Military base, and the results of that. The fall of the Soviet Union will play a major role, with the Military faction crumbling, and without pay coming in from Moscow, falling into the role of guns for hire, while trying to regain control of the Military base.

With Freedom's new found territorial gains, they are extremely low on manpower for the amount of area they need to manage, and many Stalkers have fallen prey to Bandits who have been able to operate almost without any trouble from Freedom. Because of this, many Stalkers have begun to side with Duty, who they believe would protect them from the nonstop attacks. Others are staunchly against that idea, and believe siding with Freedom is the only way to make the Zone safer, while others simply side with whomever is willing to pay.

And so begins the next chapter in the STALKER Airsoft Arizona story, "STALKER: Freedom Rising".

Concept -

Players will be a member of a Faction, with each Faction having a base of operations where the team's Money is stored. It costs $100 (Game Money) per life, and as such each player must be carrying $100 to be "alive" in the game, when a player is killed, someone else can take their money off their "body". Money can be earned for the team by completing mission objectives, and can be used to bribe neutral factions to fight with you. Money can also be used to "purchase" full auto, nobody, excluding the Military, starts being allowed to use full auto fire, it must be "purchased" first.

There will be a token game fee of $10 per player if you pre-order before October 1st, or $20 at the field thereafter, which will be used to cover the cost of props and such for the game.

Teams/Factions that will be fighting in The Road to Pripyat.

Free Stalkers (16+ Players)
-The average Stalker, just looking to get by in the Zone, while trying to make a quick buck. Quick to flee a fight, but ready to defend their fellow loners out there in the Zone.
Uniforms - Street Clothes
Missions
Find and sell Artifacts
Protect fellow Free Stalkers from Bandits and the like

Bandits (8+ Players)
-Criminals who came to the Zone looking for their fortune, or just trying to avoid jail time. They often rob Stalkers of their treasures and leave them for dead. Because of their tactics, almost all factions hate them, but most don't have the time to deal with them.
Uniforms -  Street Clothes/Black Jackets/Black Hoodies
Missions
Steal Money and Artifacts from Free Stalkers
Disrupt the work of Freedom

Military Stalkers (6-8 Players)
-Government soldiers trained to protect the integrity of the Zone from outside elements, notably, Stalkers trying to sneak in. They want to reach Pripyat to prevent Monolith from completing their weapon designs.
Uniforms - Russian Camo (Requires AEG or Rifle)
Missions
Eliminate any resistance
Recapture the Military Base

Duty (10 Players)
-A mix of Ex Military, experienced Stalkers, who turned to believe that the Zone was a plague that needed to be contained and wiped out, they believe the Zone should be destroyed. While many Stalkers support them due to their hard stance against the Bandits, Duty can often be arrogant and stubborn trying to impose its ideology on everyone. They are the Arch enemy of the Freedom.
Uniforms - Woodland Camo
Missions
Capture the Military Base from Freedom
Disrupt Freedom Operations
Prevent the Bandits from operating in their territory.
Purchase Artifacts from the Stalkers.

Freedom (10 Players)
-At times they may look like a ragtag force of anarchists, vigilantes, and daredevils, but they fight to make the Zone a free place for everyone. They are very supportive of the Stalkers, who in turn often support them, but with their capture of the military base, it's becoming hard for them to properly patrol such a large territory, and many Stalkers are beginning to turn away, they will have to work hard to prevent that from happening. They are the arch enemy of the Duty.
Uniforms - Desert Camo
Missions
Protect the Military Base
Disrupt Duty Operations
Prevent the Bandits from harming Stalkers.
Purchase Artifacts from the Stalkers.

Dark Stalkers (5 Players)
-An an extremely hostile cult composed of Stalkers who have spent to much time deep in the Zone. They believe that the Zone is a divine force and everyone must be purged from it. They will use all means necessary to kill anyone they capture who is carrying artifacts or straying to far into the Zone.
Missions
Stop the removal of Artifacts from the Zone.
Prevent anyone from entering Pripyat.

I don't know if you have ever hosted a game or not but trust me the costs of props and game surplus adds up really fast. We almost spent a grand on hold war and that's before paying fightertown to use there property

I would say a game having its own currency system is pretty "legit as hell". Why don't you come and see for yourself man? :)

And suddenly the game gets all that much more interesting.

Darr, does the 500FPS rule apply only to bolt-action snipers, or could an AEG/GBB rifle also qualify if it's semi-auto only and abides by minimum engagement distance rules? I'm thinking, like, SVD or M110.

Team Bandit will be there again!

Yes, all good.

Mid caps only?

Unless you're using an RPK, SAW, etc., yes.

As long as it is used only well within the engagement distance rules, then yeah that'd be fine.

Darr, I will be more than happy to lead the dark stalkers. If you're putting registration up right now I have myself +3 for dark stalkers.

Pre-register is open, the Paypal buttons will take you to the "payment" thing where when you pay I'll add you to the list.

Alright. I'll reserve my slot soon then....

Just as advise for everyone who is coming to this. Work on your costume. It makes everything sweeter.  ;D Last game I basically had street clothes on, but this time I'm buying a gas mask and getting some other stuff together. Gonna wrap my gun and legs up with cloth or canvas. Leather pouches instead of cloth MOLLE stuff. Taping my mags together...... Just some fun stuff.  :)

Oh and vodka. A handle of vodka. (filled with water ;) )

So when duty is full the game is full and no one else is allowed to sign up? Or, will you be adding slots to the Free Stalkers like the 4 that you already have? Not baggin just askin. Better for the Hawks that have to leave at noon to be Free instead of taking a whole or part of a faction off of the field when they leave.

There's also one spot on the military if I remember correctly.

Those spots were due to my fault of not having added players that had paid before someone else paid. The Free Stalkers were labelled as "open" when those people paid even though the roster hadn't been updated.

Beans paid after it was labelled closed.

Title: Re: STALKER Airsoft: Freedom Rising

Just a couple have to leave early do due to work and/or home requirements. Most of us are 30 to 40+ and have nagging wives and rat headed brats at home that require attention. Last game we had so few that could stay the whole day that Monolith imploded at noon. In respect to the organizer and to the players we did not want to do that this time around and split the team between the Military faction and the Free Stalkers. This should solve the issue. No one would miss a couple Free Stalkers missing after lunch.

Ah, makes sense. And now that I think about it, it wasn't just a couple of desert hawks that left at lunch. Some other dudes did too.

I just registered with a +1, but we are rolling up with Warlord. My +1 has never played airsoft before, can we both register for Free Stalkers?

Done and done. You're in, Free Stalkers is closed up now.

Thanks, Darr

This is correct. Free Stalkers do whatever they want. Mainly though, they want to make money, and find artifacts (which there will be more of this time around).

If STALKER ever gets bigger then the Sasco games, I might think about buying a large order for the teams.

Title: Re: STALKER Airsoft: Freedom Rising
Post by: TJC10 on September 20, 2012, 11:49:50 PM
NO. it is not. But it lets people "see" the terrain. I laid the points Darr made onto a google map with fun Icons, nothing more.

That's where Darr put the Free Stalker spawn point and there is nowhere else to park there unless you want to get towed by the Rangers for parking on the road.

Up to him if he wants to move a spawn point, but the parking area probably is intractable.
Title: Re: STALKER Airsoft: Freedom Rising
Post by: theFlyingTrumpet on September 21, 2012, 09:09:47 AM
There were no issues with the Free Stalker spawn being close to parking last game. It isn't a base style spawn point that can be taken over, so it's pretty much removed from the action. I do believe the spawn is not as close to the road as the map makes it seem. The spawn is on the opposite side of the parking lot from the road.

2 questions for Darr:
-Who is Duty commander?
-Duty roster- I think Sean M. might be another slot for me which I've been trying to secure for my friend Tim M. Can you confirm that the slot is for Sean McWilliams- the name on my dad's paypal?

Trent, I had the same misgiving about a parking lot spawn as you did and I still have my doubts about it. Darr has assured me that the Free Stalker spawn is supposed to be removed from the action, as trumpet said. Perhaps we can have Darr chime in on this here.
Title: Re: STALKER Airsoft: Freedom Rising
Post by: DarrK on September 21, 2012, 02:35:59 PM
The parking area has always been the Free Stalker spawn. It's out of play, as discussed in the safety briefing every time, as it forces the Stalkers to actually walk into the Zone, where there are typically checkpoints. That is actually a far larger area then it looks, and most Free Stalkers spawn immediately North of the parking area.

I moved the Free Stalker icon to that area on "MY UNOFFICIAL TOPOGRAPHIC MAP" (Fresnel :P). Matt, Darr, I have no issues with it being on the South side of the road if you all wanted it there. Gives me a chance to resupply when I'm dead.

BTW, I see people still paying did they register before paying?   :o

How did you do that by the way? I really like being able to edit on google maps.

This is pretty accurate nonetheless.

I will be distributing copies of my map to everyone on a "Player info sheet" that should help cover any basic FAQs. I recommend everyone hold onto it, because some things will say like "Scout zone E4 for an ammo drop" (as an example).

Yo Darr, I still never got a mission briefing. I will be free Friday evening to Skype if you need. Or I can just meet at SASCO early?

Darr, the term is LMG. :)

I don't want to discriminate against the odd fellow who decides to bring out a DShKa :P
Or an M2. Don't forget there's an M2 owner on AA.

Hey I have ak47 midcaps for sale...a total of 5 I will sell for $50. They are metal and are in great condition. They hold 80bbs each that I know of, might be more. Let me know if you want me to bring them.

And for free stalkers is it alright if we wear mixed colors? Like faded green camo and black belts, maybe some tan pouches?

The only thing for free Stalkers is don't wear a camp set tops and bottoms.

So if you're wearin a BDU top, don't wear a BDU bottom, any other color or thing is fine so ACU button BDU topics fine.

That thing was a beast, man!

I had a great time, and I really enjoyed all of the intrigue and subterfuge that went on during the game. It kept things interesting, and we were always slightly unsure about who was friendly and who was not, simply because the alliances were constantly shifting. It really felt true to the games, albeit inna desert.

Darr, you need to do STALKER more than once a year! :D

Anyone care to share some favourite moments from Freedom rising?

Mine was infiltrating the bank while Freedom held it and stealth assassinating their leader and, along with my two other guys, blasting all the rest of the clueless Freedom inside the bank and getting our last guy out without him getting hit.
