Narrowed down problem with my PWS Diablo
« on: April 24, 2012, 09:18:38 PM »
So after working with my gun for a little I found out that the motor spins just fine when it is out of the pistol grip, and also when it is in the pistol grip but the motor plate isnt on the gun. Once I put the motor plate back on it stops shooting. Anyone have any idea why this is? I took a video and a picture to try and help out, if you guys need any other info just ask.

Video:
Motor problem

Picture (The red wire seems to have been pushed on or something by the motor cap which may be the reason it doesnt spin when the cap is on? Not sure to be honest, figured I would inculde a picture anyway):

Make sure the motor wires are connected to their right terminals. and if you plug everything in and your motor moves a tiny bit its either your gearbox locked up or your motor adjustment screw is too high, so try lowering it and see what that does.

I've tried motor scren all the way loose and all the way tight and everything in between, I think it has something to do with when you push down on the motor plate it like cuts off the connection of the positive wire and thats not letting it get any current. Because if I push down on the side where the negative/black wire connects it still spins while in the pistol grip, but if I push down at all on the side where the postitive/red wire is it stops shooting/spinning completely.

Also, they are connected to the right terminals because it spins fine when not in the pistol grip and when in the pistol grip but without the motor plate, it's only when the motor plate is on and you push down on the plate to be able to screw it in that it stops shooting.

I had the same problem with my Tokyo Marui m4 I found the the wires were getting in the way of the motor plate  and motor and it would make it go in the gearbox cockeyed. I just had to
Play with the wiring placement and correctly seat the motor :)

Oh by the way do you think a pws diablo is li po ready? I have one and was just wondering

Any tips on how to get the wire correctly placed? Because I'm almost positive that that's the same thing happened to my diablo especially because of the way the red wire is being torn up. And I've been suggested I get a lipo and my friend says his is amazing with it so if you 've got the money I would definitely go for it.

Check your bevel to pinion contact.

Would you be able to explain that in a little more detail? Sorry, I'm rather new to all of this.

I had the exact same problem. If you don't put the plate on perfectly, it pushes the motor so far in to the poor where it won't even spin. I had to play with mine for an hour just getting it to fit before it shot. Just play around with it.

Yeah I tried for probably an hour straight to get the motor plate on and have the gun fire but I couldn't get it to work so I figured something else must be the problem so I felt this was the best place to ask. I guess I'll try some more again tomorrow and see if i can get it to sit right.

has the gb been worked on recently?
if it has, it may be to tightly shimmed.
the reason you are getting that mark on the heat shrink tube on your positive conector is because your motor plate is pushing directly onto it you need to gently bend it away from the center towards the out side. that is why your motor adjusting isnt makeing a difference, the motor adjustment screw isnt doing anything cause the motor isnt sitting on it. that is also why, in yur vid, the motor plate doesnt look like its going all the way into the grip.
