I can't remember exactly, but it could have been an SPR.  They are use alot by SEALs and SF, according to the pics I have seen, and what I have read.  Was this is it?:

This is an M4 SPR (Special Purpose Rifle).  M4 reciever, with a special kit and free-floating barrel.  Seen without suppressor attached.  Find out what rifle it was exaclty Frank, and I will help you as much as I can [:)]

Im really not planning on spending that much on it.
So Christian, what length supressor do you think I should go with?  I was thinking 200mm would be long enough. Any longer and I think I would have trouble weilding the weapon in smaller spaces. As is last Sat I could not make a shot because it took me too long to manuver around a tree branch with my M4.

Looks like an SPR end (Whats the difference between a SPR and M16 end?)

umm you guys...I hate to burst your bubble, but
a) that was no sniper and
b) that was a plain old M4A1 with RIS and an Aimpoint.  Suppressor was same size and shape of QD, but without stamped holes in suppressor sleeve.  There are several Quick Detach sups out there, but the one I am speaking of is the Knights variety.
The sniper rifle in TOS, as with many other SEALs and military personnel, was an M14 variant.  Possibly an M21, but there is no external differnce.
On another note, snipers sometimes use an M4 or a variant of, instead of the primary M14, M21, M24, M82, M40, etc...
The spotter also uses them sometimes.  When this is the case, the weapon looks exactly like any other pimped-out M4.
Cheers

Flea used a Leupold scope on his suppressed M4.  I can't remember the designation right now, but it was definetly a Leupold.

Leupold Mark 4.  I remember the M14 (or M21 having a scope, but remember seeing an ACOG (TA55) on the M4 used by Flea.  I gotta watch it again I guess :)

ok guys, took about a 100 pics, u owe me 1, jk and i narrowed it down, ive come to the conclusion that your thinking of the m4 sniper which had a silencer and small scope, pics of him and his rifle, then theres the real sniper, which by what i saw is most likely a m14 , m21 has a totaly different shape and is ususaly wood, and a scope(obviously) take a look for yourself

harley, right on about that 2nd sniper with the m14

ps also a few pics of the lt's gun which in the begging in the village he had two sights on it, just took one off in the village when he got there?

1.  Whats the scope on that M4?  ACOG TA55?  I can see Butler Creek EYE and OBJ covers (note the red lever to flip cover up on the rear of the scope, above his eye in the bottom pic).
2.  The M14 and M21 have the same shape, Busta.  The M21 is an accurized M14.  You can put a wood or composite stock and a scope on either one.
3.  The two "sights" on AK Waters' M4 are an Aimpoint and a PVS-14 weapon mounted night vision scope.  I remember Bruce Willis taking the PVS-14 off right after the sun rises while he is talking with Monica Bellucci's character.  He also has an ARMS SWAN sleeve mounted.  The PVS is mounted via a QD mount, and the remains of the mount are visible after the PVS itself is removed.
4.  I wouldn't call the guy with the M4 in the tree a "sniper".  He has a scope on his rifle, big deal.  So des everyone else in this MOVIE.  Let me re-state that it is a MOVIE.  While accurate in many instances, its still a film, not real.  I must say, however, that the costume team for TOS did a very good job.  All the gear, even the Helos, was recreated believeably.
For +5 points, can anyone name the helos?  (I will need more than just "A Navy Blackhawk" to give the points away [;)])
Cheers!

One of them, I thought it was Flea had the Leupold MK4

http://www.leupold.com/products/tactica ... 3x14mm.htm

Maybe it was Zeek?  I don't know what that scope is Flea is using.
