in europe airsoft ipsc became popular because all of the real steel ipsc shooters could no longer legally own guns.

and Japan. They've been building guns of this caliber and much higher since the 90's at least.

Reminds me of the past, in the 80s and 90s my wife and I used to shoot IPSC, bowling pins and steel, had 4 Dillon presses and went thru 3000 rounds a month mostly at Shooters world, some at Usery Pass and Ben Avery, our ridiculous weapons were 9X25 and cost us around $3000.00 each to have built by a grand master, blew my left shoulder out shooting major loads off hand resulting in surgery and had to quit, but we did have FUN,FUN,FUN Still have some competion leather I would trade for AS stuff or sell...

I build these out of We/Tm Hi capas, and its essentially, a very fast, low recoil, accurate, ridiculously looking gun lol. made to accurately engage a bunch of targets fairly close, very fast and accurately.
