The BDUs would be a good start. As people have said, $30 at a surplus store will get you tri color desert or woodland all day long. If you're hurting for cash or would like to invest in other gear, I would start checking out the local Goodwills. I've found a full set of ACU and lots of woodland in excellent condition for about $7 a pair of pant and $8 a blouse. Even if you can't find legit M81 issue BDUs, there's plenty of civilian copies made for the hunting market that find their way to the second hand store.
As far as boots, I wouldn't spend too much money on them, especially if you're strapped for cash. I've played in my ancient hiking boots, my Converse hi-tops, and my $20 Fila running shoes with no ill effects. I've never had a problem with "rolling an ankle" in my street shoes. If you're playing indoors, then there is absolutely no reason why you couldn't just use your normal shoes to play in...
What type of play are you looking to do the most? Indoors, outdoors?

I'm sorry to say that I'll be pulling myself and my guest out of the roster. My car will not cooperate no matter how much money I throw at the &)*#@!$%*&*)*@$ THING! Hope this Prescottia is even better than the last and that I'll make it next year.
Seriously, though, go to this fucking game. It's awesome as fuck. Sniper duels in the woods, fire from thickets, the uneven terrain, and the great plot will make it a game you will unlikely be able to recreate in Arizona.

On a side note, went to Prescottonia last year and had a blast. It really is worth the investment of $30-40 worth of surplus camouflage. There was a good bit of mix up last year, though. ACU was mixed up for green and Multicam was mistaken for both.
If need be, I've got several extra sets of green and tan camo (size M to XL). If you want to go and need a set, drop me a pm and I'll bring a CLEAN set of BDUs for you to wear at the game.
