Well the 18C is automatic, so it is a gas hog any way you lay it down. It is one of the KSC glock series, so it is reliable, but it can't handle green gas w/o a metal slide installed. For what you seem to be looking for, I would say get a KSC G19 or newer, they seem to be more conservative with gas. I think that a semi-auto is the way to go for a back up weapon where you need range and accuracy. The G18c is for CQB and is not particularly accurate or far-shooting. 60$ is a good deal if the thing is in good condidtion and works flawlessly, but you will have to spend 10 a can on 2000mL of gas any way you slice it.

Great all around gun, extremely reliable, had mine for over 3 years and have had no problems other than normal wear and tear!  Best back up you can have for $60!

Scooterir,
I've had the pleasure of owning several of KSC's products (two G18C's among them) and I must say that they have been great guns. I had an 18C with the plastic slide, and one with the metal slide. I liked the plastic slide better (higher rate of fire than the metal slide). It used green gas without ever a hiccup. The metal slide version was nice for weight, but I wanted a gun that could shoot. The 18C in semi auto mode was just like a G17. It was also accurate as far as pistols go. The internal hop-up was responsive and adjusted easily. At $60, it's a steal. By the way, one of our illustrious AA members borrowed it once and dropped it in the dust. No problems, just blew it out with duster gas and cleaned it up. Shot just like it always did. And yes, I still have them and don't want to sell them.

Hope this helps...

Thanks a lot for the input TheRev. I was kind of concerned with using green gas with a plastic slide, but you definatly convinced me. I think that I'm gonna pick it up soon. Ive got that new gun feeling all over again! [:I]

UPDATE: I recently tried it out, and was dissapointed and impressed at the same time. It was incredible feeling it lightly jump around in your hand on full auto, and was amazing to fire the closest thing to a real steel firearm that you can get. However, they are scratched 5-7 times on the slide, the paint job is kind of messed up, and it miss fired a couple of times (he recently informed me that he lubed it and now it works perfectly). The magazine is well worn on the sides, but it looks/feels so sweet when you fire it. I think that I am going to purchase it from him soon. I really want to put a silencer on it and maybe even a laser, Do you have any ideas on how to do this? The only CCW outer barrel that I have seen, was $42, are there any cheaper ones? I am basically trying to make this into a "offensive sidearm", any ideas/suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help.

Because the movement of the gun is so radical in full-auto w/ green gas and the bb's can move in wierd directions right after they get out of the inner barrel, I would recommend extending the inner barrel through the silencer so the bb's don't mess up the silencer or get stuck in it. Maybe it's just my gun, but I think most G18's react that way if you don't hold them pretty tight.

Glock18C or not?
« Reply #7 on: April 26, 2004, 09:59:23 PM »
I recently received an offer for a KSC Glock 18C thats in medium condition for $60. I have been recently looking for a good NBB but now that I received this offer, I am not sure if I should go for it, or just get the UHC USP. My main concern is gas usage because I dont want to have to end up spending $50-60 on gas alone...I am also worried about reliability. The guy that I might buy it from told me that he has never had a problem with it. Just let me know what you guys think. Thanks in advance for your input.

Glock 18cs are very nice, thatoneguy uses 2 of them at once for a very cool look. It is nice to know you are on his team when he decides to shoot at people with hundreds of bbs in only a few seconds.
