That thing is like 85 bucks to rent, and 20 bucks for a 50 round belt. Ammo is about the same cost as everything else, maybe Ill do that.

The Glock 18C is a "machine gun" per the ATF, and was made after 1986, so it's not available to civilians for ownership. Out of those you listed, I'd go with the M249. In full auto, I've only shot an MP5, an M16 and a 9mm M11. Of those three, the M16 was the most fun. If the M249 were too much $$ (comparatively), I'd definitely go for the AUG (since I've already shot an M4/M16).

Allright, thanks. If they will let me shoot the m249 without spending gobbs of money to have it mounted to humvee, then Ill shoot that. THIS IS GOING TO BE AWESOME!!!

I think the scottsdale gun club has a way to pay one fee to try out multiple guns.

Joey shoot what ever your wallet can afford. MP5's are cool, M16's are cool, but the old classics like the Thompson, or an S&W76 must be shot at least once.

I woudlnt pass up the m249 if i had the cash to spend... their ammo is a ripoff over there. But i wouldnt pass on the Thompson and the MP5... the MP5 is by far my fav. I absolutely loved shooting that thing... it felt great on my shoulder and had great control. The Thopson i shot had a drum mag... good old bank robber Tommygun style... that was a fun one too... heavy bastard for its size... pure steel and wood! Gotta love it!!! And if you REALLY got money to drop... rent their hummer that has the Browning mounted on top! You can take it out for a spin and put a few belts through it!!

No, SGC doesnt have a thompson, they have one for sale, but not for rent. Ammo for the SAW is the same price as the 9mm .223 or .40. Its 20 bucks for a 50 round belt.

its really all about your style man, if you like big and combersome things go with the M249, if not go with something like the UMP!

I agree, the P90 would be fun and a great addition to your repertior.

On a side note: those retinal scanners to get into the lounge are really neat
Title:
Post by: Mr. Joseph on May 27, 2004, 08:49:44 PM
What retinal scanners?

The ammo for the P90 is twice as much as everything else.

To get into the Titanium Members Lounge you have to do a retinal scan. My friend is a Titanium member and he pays like 250 a month for membership and payed like 2000 up front.

Cant you bring your own ammo?
Title:
Post by: Greg on May 27, 2004, 11:49:09 PM
Those retinal scanners are ****. They have a definte cool-factor, but they use the same ones down at the jail to make positive ID of inmates and to make sure that they are releasing the right person. They are super accurate when they work, but don't most of the time. They are very buggy and I don't know if the SGC is having better luck with them.

Anybody seen the titanium lounge? It is really nice. I got to go for a tour including the lounge when they first opened, but now that it is operational, you can't get in without knowing a member....

$2000? The info I have says that Titanium memberships are $10,000to join (!!) and $200/month. However, since they have very little business because of how overpriced they are, they are selling the Titanium memberships for $5K for now...

Any way you slice it, that's definitely not worth it unless you have LOTS of money to burn.

The UMP they have is a .40, not a .45.
Title:
Post by: donut on May 28, 2004, 10:36:22 AM
So even though .40 is a little less it would still be fun to shoot.

Title: Which Machine gun should I shoot...
Post by: Mr. Joseph on May 26, 2004, 08:17:48 PM
Im heading over to Scottsdale gun club with my uncle this weekend to shoot a machine gun. Which one will I have most fun with?

Im thinking UMP, TMP, AUG, or maybe Glock 18. (on a side note, is the glock 18 really unavailable to civis in the US?) Theres still the MP5, M4 in .223 or 9mm, UZI, P90 (which is really expensive for ammo) and the M249 SAW. I can only afford one, and itll be my first machine gun shoot, what do you guys think.
