**** DISCLAMER ****
Please DO NOT take any offense to this topic. The views here are opinions of a few people and shouldn’t be seen as anything more. Sorry if you feel any part of this is racist, sexist or in anyway out right offends you. Feel free to form what ever opinion on this matter you wish but keep it civil and on topic. This disclaimer is to cover all my bases before someone comes on and blast me for being "insensitive" or politically incorrect. We understand that we do not have full working knowledge of the legal system and all laws / policies in place or working their way through the system. This is merely some ideas that where tossed around and we would like some feedback.
**** DISCLAMER ****
Sorry but it’s a sensitive topic for some. Now on to the show.
Ok a friend of mine and I where talking about this bill that President Bush is proposing to get passed that will allow illegal aliens to get a green card for 3 year and possibly gain citizen ship after that. Basically open the boarders between the US and Mexico.
The topic at hand:
We where basically trying to figure out a better way to go about letting the boarders be opened for people of Mexico into the US. This idea is very broad that we came up with and doesn’t single anyone out. Basically what I'm trying to do here is get some feedback on what you think of this idea and possibly what you think are some pros and cons to a policy such as the one I will get to in a second.
Basic policy:
When anyone from out side the state enters the US they get finger printed, identified, checked in, photographed, DNA, etc. to what ever extend seams reasonable for good identification. They are made a record and they are some what monitored from then on for X amount of years or until proven they can contribute to society and not steal from the US. This will hopefully help weed out the people that cross any board only to slowly corrupt the US from the inside out. When this Identified person comes across any board into the US they are tracked when they mess up and are involved in a crime of any kind they are deported back to their home country and denied re-entry into the US. This can very as this harsh of punishment isn’t likely to pass in the US because most people in my opinion are not too bright. If the person come across the boarder and do contribute to the US they will be given citizenship and allowed to live here and continue their life as a US citizen with out being monitored. This also can be easily adapted to include any group of people. This policy would be for EVERYONE entering the US. There could be a strike system developed for it or be only used on anything that is a felony. Some exceptions can later be defined and added to this. ((There would be some ups and downs to trying to go through and do legal citizens and no doubt some legal battles over this. However there can later be a policy that would add deportation of people based on crimes but that is a different topic and policy all together.))
The people that are already in this country that are still illegal that come forward will be given documents on this subject so they will know the punishments if this policy isn’t followed. They would then be Identified and monitored like the rest of the people entering the state.
Our thoughts on this:
We basically think that any person regardless of race, religion, sex, age* or background that is entering the US shouldn’t be exempt to this policy because anyone that doesn’t help the country out shouldn’t be allowed to live here as a citizen. This would help against those who wish to cause harm to the US population such as terrorism, theft, murders.
-side note-
+ I (meushi) also think they should get a little harsher on the major crimes.. It’s sad to see people get off on murder charges because they have millions of dollars. Your conviction should have nothing to do with how much money you have in your bank account.
+ We also think INS should get better funding for boarder patrols. That why they have the resources to watch after those who do comply and to possibly go after those who don’t come forward. Not really a "man hunt" but at least be on the look out for illegal aliens.
+ From what we understand under Bush's policy when they come over to the US they would be provided medical insurance, some other basic things to get started in the US so they aren’t coming over jobless, homeless and otherwise helpless to provide for themselves. We fill that they should have to provide for themselves so our tax dollars go to a better source. IE: nation defense, educations and medical programs to name a few.
