Though I am not Scott, I'll just say this: it's all personal preference. Some say "Bushmaster", some say "Colt", some say "DPMS", some say "Eagle Arms/ArmaLite" and some say "Rock River Arms". I think the truth is that all are quality firearms (minus Hesse). Price varies between the different makers, as do some features. RRA is one of the best values for your money - you won't be disappointed with a RRA AR-15.

Do any stores in Phoenix sell them new? Id rather not mail order.

They offer an option for a stainless barrel instead of chrome for 55 or 75 dollars. Whats the advantage, is it worth the money?

Pretty much all stores will order them upon request. Try Scottsdale Gun Center.

Chrome lined barrels are better if you're going to use it as a plinker/for fun. If you want the utmost accuracy, you'll want a chromoly barrel, but they require more care/cleaning. Generally chrome-lined barrels are a bit more expensive.

I saw them, as I recall, they are too expensive and kind of roughed up. I want to spend the eight or nine hundred, but thats it.

I went to High Country guns and knives today, they had a RRA WILSON (I guess its the same company, but it didnt say RRA on it), used preban, 1200 F that. I dont care about the stock.

I want to find a RRA Car A4 with a full stock (or entry stock) and a removable site. I doubt I can find one here, and the two stores I went to so far dont special order them.

Can anyone explain (in detail) the process of ordering a firearm and having it sent to an FFL. I found a store that will do it. Im also not sure if hte prices on the RRA site are dealer or public.

Thanks for the help guys. I really dont know **** about buying guns. I usually need about 4 or 5 forms when I buy a gun, I screw up that much.

Is ASA (American Spirit Arms) any good?

How do they rank on the quality list? How about value?

ASA is generally considered one of the "lower quality" AR-15's. Not as bad as Hesse, but not as good as RRA and the like.

Also if I remember correctly ASA can't take the higher pressures of 5.56 NATO, only .223.

ASA has a shop in Scottsdale between where the Armory was formerly located and the Scottsdale Lambo dealer in case you wanted to check them out for yourselves, but the general consensus here on the boards about their products is correct so it may not be worth the time.

Your revolver only holds six rounds, but your fists never run out of ammo.

I have been there several times for parts for my, uh, airsoft blaster.

Their 308s are neat, and I was cursious as to the quality of their firearms.

What you need to do Joey is go to a web site like www.gunbroker.com or www.auctionarms.com or www.gunsamerica.com and find a gun you want to buy. The first two sites are auction sites like ebay but once you bid you can't retract your bid so be careful. gunsamerica is basically a big classified web site. Find a dealer selling a gun you want for the price you're willing to pay, then get a copy of your local FFL's license to mail to the selling dealer. Send that along with your payment to him and he'll ship your gun to the local dealer. You'll have to pay your dealer for doing the transfer for you, usually $20 to $25 for their services but you won't have to pay sales tax on it which will save you some $.

I got ahold of RRA to see about ordering one. It takes 5-6 weeks to get one shipped. Thats gay, and I cant find one locally. Is that normal? I cant seem to find one thats a car a4 with a removable front site.
