I don't know about that.Steel case is just to hard for some guns.Brass is alot softer.

from what i've seen, wolf is pretty good. i use it in 7.62 x 39 for my SKS. i would get a box or two of it, and try it. careful though, it might be corrosive. Berdan(sp) primer is the best i've seen.

I shoot wolf in my AK, but I hear the case can be bad for an AR.  Once I get some money Ill order some of what you suggested Paco.  Is that what our troops use?

Yes.  It's a "hotter" round than .223 loads.  You'll see the nice fireball when you fire it.

Winchester Q3131A is also loaded to Milspec and is a great round, but like the Federal Lake City, it's not cheap.

Both XM193 and Q3131A cost almost twice what Wolf ammo costs.

I know several people that shoot Wolf ammo in their M16's Joey.  You just need to clean your gun really well to get all the laquer out.  Paco mentioned the new Wolf ammo that isn't laquer coated but I'm sure there's still pleanty of the old stuff floating around right now.  Primers blowing out can be caused by a couple things.  Crappy brass casings where the primer pocket is too big and doesn't hold the primer tight enough.  Or pressures too high in the cartridge which blows it out as well.  That's why military ammo has the primers crimped in so this doesn't happen to a soldier in the middle of a firefight.

.223 ammo

First off, what are the different kinds of primers used in ammo.  Ive been shooting sellior and bellot, and twice in about 200 rounds, the primer blew out of the casing and jammed my AR.  What would be some of the cons of using .223 wolf ammo instead.  If they add up to too many, what kind of ammo is good, but wont shoot primers at my gun?
