I seem to recall him saying AK, I just wrote 7.62, that wasnt literal.  Oh well, now I know.

I dont leave garbage.  I picked up all my trash, including shotgun shells, and I even kicked up a pile of brass and picked it up.  But yes, I did leave the tannerite.  What would you have done, exactly.  Keeping in mind that in this situation you didnt know that the AK wouldnt set it off.  So you are stuck with a tannerite bottle with a hole in it.  Would you have picked it up and put it in your car?  As far as I knew, I had done everything by the book, and it didn't go off.

Anyone know what it consists of? Its a binary explosive so I imagine its just two chemicals mixed together (usually thats what they mean anyway).

It looks like Borax and powdered Magnesium.  I said looks like as I don't know for sure and the company selling it probably isn't about to tell you either.

Do they ship it without any hazardous materials labels? I got the impression that the two materials were completely inert until mixed. It couldn't be just straight magnesium then. Stuff is real sensitive when powdered.

Nope, no labels as it's all benign by itself.  The ingredients are ammonium nitrate and powdered aluminum in a 95/5 ratio, IIRC.  If you mix your own, be wary as AN (with diesel fuel) is the stuff that was used to blow up the OK federal building by McVeigh - if you buy a lot of ammonium nitrate (and don't own a farm), the ATF will be pretty interested.

Are you sure about the ammonium nitrate Paco, I don't recall the nitrate smell to it?
