I got it, NO THANKS TO YOU GUYS.  j/k

Does anyone know how to tell if the gas holes are all lined up properly.  Im guessing I need to just wait until I shoot it and if it doesnt cycle, adjust it a little bit.  Sound about right?

AR front sight removal
« Reply #1 on: October 03, 2004, 11:31:30 AM »
I finally got a gas block so I need to get my front sight off.  Harley gave me some advice and got me part of the way through it.  Ive got the pin out that hold the gas tube in place, but thats the easy part.  Now I need to get the two front sight pins out.  I understand that they must be pushed from the left side.  Has anyone done this by themselves?  How did you go about doing it?  I cant get them to budge.

Another question is, what is the round piece that holds the front of the grips attached to?  Is it part of the front sight?  I am ultimately trying to remove the front sight, and obviously keep that ring in place to hold the grips and install a gas block.  I want to get all this done without having to pay a gunsmith 50 bucks.

Thanks for your help guys.
