Yeah I agree with most everything people have said. I wish we could get moving and talk while we play. Usually there are plenty of down times while walking and stalking to do some little chit chat.
As for locations, I was trying to find the area we were at the last game, I guess we just went around it, and since I was not driving I did not want to drag us around in a bunch of circles looking for it, Oh well. Although I like a change of game areas, because inevitably when playing in the same spots people tend to hide where they did the last time. Just like in video games every so often you got to play a different map or it gets boreing.
As for multiple objective games, it would work out better if people would plan out their gear and needs ahead of time. Breaks drug on and on because inevitably someone would remember they needed something else from the cars. How can someone not remember water in the middle of the desert when its this hot out? I always double check my gear and rations the night before a game, load my mags and such. Gasing mags takes much less time than filling every mag you got with BB's. Those of you who inevitably show up unprepared and or with empty mags are doing an injustice to those of us who came prepared to do buisness. So please think about the rest of us and do your part to help your group and the game organizers to get started on time.
Another thing that I now know is not really a fault of the "game master" if you will, is the before game briefings. During the middle game I gave 1 major briefing to both teams together, then I gave a smaller personal briefing to both teams indivigually. I let everyone know what I expected from them. . Except for the few people that dissappeard during the briefing after our 45 min break for whatever reason? Anyways one of the teams did a good job of sticking to the game plan for the most part. The other team totally did not listen. Not 2 seconds after I was done setting the Rules of engagment, someone starts shooting at a "Civilian". From there nothing went right. In this game the "Ranger" sqaud was supposed to make first contact and then call in the "Spec Forces" to help finish the job. Ranger team never left the staging area, to busy arguing about how to continue. The Spec forces team, who was not supposed to be involved yet, suddenly took control of the civilian informant and rustled him for information in good CIA style. From there I just let it go. In the end the game was interesting and fun. But did not turn out as planned, as I know they seldom do.
The part I don't quite understand is why people don't listen to the preop briefings? I believe the reason we do Airsoft instead of paint ball is for realism. Well in a real op you have goals and ROE's, which you must follow. So why is this aspect so difficult for people to adhear to? I don't understand.
Oh and HavHav and shifty, had you guys tried to move on Azsarge you would have had a nasty suprise [
] I had you right in my sights. I was just waiting til you moved out of the brush.
P.S. sorry for the length and lack of spell checking. But I felt it needed to be said.
