Funny thing is both the bailout and stimilus were ment to "stimulate" the economy, well the bailout was supposed to save some banks which mainly were failing becuase of stupid buisness ventures they made which had a huge part in the recession so it was ment to get the economey back on its feet one way or another. if you would have just taken the [about] $1.5 trillion of the bailout/stimilus you could give EVERY tax paying citizen who filed taxes with the IRS around $15,000. Now when what you need to help the economey is essentially for people to spend money I think putting 15 grand in everyones pocked might increase spending just a bit.
