LoL, I have I tested this theory myself? If I did that for every theory I wouldnt have anytime to do anything else. Im fine with my 120 at 475fps. Im just relaying infromation as I was told from a trusted airsofter, yet I clarified that he was testing them in a few aegs and in those it put them over 400fps. Every Aeg is different so go for it and test it yourself if your so interested. Exactly my point, good friend. When I threw my upgrades into my TM M4, I had a ballpark estimate of how each part would increase my FPS. I thought of it as more of a percentage thing, than a FPS increase. When I put it all together, my results were pretty close to what I had figured. With several people's guidance (most of whom was John [aka Harley]) it came together nicely, and I had exactly the features I desired prior to upgrading.

So I guess I'm wastimg bandwidth here. What I meant from the start is that the only way to know for sure is to try it yourself. When you can't do that, get info from as many diferent sources as possible, rather than one person (assuming they are an expert). But everyone knows this.

What Ron said was that the 120S' that he had seemed to be shooting hotter than normal 120's.

I did just finish putting one in my CA, so as soon as I find a chrono, I'll be sure.

What I'm curious about is how long pistons will last with these stiffer springs. Remember, the more force that is required to compress a spring directly relates to the force put on the piston teeth. You better have an upgraded piston when putting in these stiffer springs or you'll surely be needing a new piston before long.

But unless there is a real difference in power between the 120's and the 120S', there shouldn't be any more wear than we are used to with 120's.
Right? The 120S was a little bit stiffer, but also shorter than the other springs I have.

Shorter doesn't make any difference on the piston, it still has to travel the same amout of distance to retract. A stiffer spring means more torque is required to compress it. The piston is being pushed forward by the spring while the sector gear is driving the piston back by it's teeth. That sounds like more wear to me.

tempered springs

Which company makes a spring that is equal in power to a M120 that is tempered steel? Right now I have a systema M120 that has shrunk some and lost about 10 FPS...its about a year old.I need something that won't shrink like this over time.
