I don't think the price of new rifles will go down. The cost of hi-cap mags surely will.It would make more sense to buy a new one with all the features of the grandfathered weapons.Iam waiting for the ban to expire before I make anymore gun purchases...Its only 6 months away.

Only the price of former "prebans" will really drop.  Also, the former "postban" parts (uppers w/o bayo lugs, FS) and 'fixed' telestocks will drop.

There will be a RASH of purchasing when it expires, so you may actually see the price of AR parts go UP for a while until the demand subsides.  I chose to buy my "preban" stuff now (to avoid the rush, and artificially inflated prices) and store them at a friend's house.

Shifty,

You would be correct. My intention was not to start another one of those. I apologize for any "feelings" I may have stirred. [:D] I was, however, trying to point out to ol' Phoenix that his choice of an AR as a first rifle would be a goo investment. And AK would be equally wise, but for someone who may be budget minded (I know I am at my age), I would consider it to be wise to buy what you like, and whatever may save you money. Thanks for stopping me before I got another "fire" going, though. [:D]

Where to Buy?
« Reply #18 on: March 22, 2004, 12:29:37 PM »
Well I'm 18 and have been considering possibly purchasing an AR variant. After having surfed the web I'm not fond of buying a gun I can't examine. Is it a good idea to buy at Crossroads Shows or something like that? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
