The gear box holds the head in place.  Lube the O-ring on the head with Silicone oil and slide it into the cylinder until the O-ring is not visible.  DO NOT USE GLUE!

you forgot to mention that the cylinderhead is held on via two "nubs" that are molded into the gearbox. if you look at the cylinderhead you will see two holes on its sides, these fit into the "nubs" on the gearbox and holds the cylhead in place.

hey, hey, im not trying to insult your intelligence or anything, but it seems like the guy thats asking the question is very new to gearboxes so the more info he has the better.

Actually I got it taken care of 2 days ago so there is no more need for advice.  My only question was whether or not it was supposed to be glued or not since the stock cylinder does seem to be attached fairly well to the cylinder, possibly glued (never tried to take that part apart before).  Besides, all you really need to know is that as long as the tappet plate is lined up with the opening in the cylinder head, it will fit fine.  (I'm really not as clueless as I seem <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>)

Not to worry.. I didn't take it that way.  Since the man did have his gear box already open, I'm sure he was already aware of the two nobs that held the cylinder head in place.  Sometimes you have to read in between the lines to see the whole picture.

Title: Bore-up cylinder

I just got a new bore-up cylinder set for my MP5 due to an unfortunate accident involving screws and piston heads.  Anyway, my question is, how does the cylinder head stay inside the cylinder?  Does it just rest inside or are you supposed to glue it?
