General Off-Topic Discussion / Full Spectrum Warrior

I highly recommend that you check this game out. It is being used for training the military and has been changed up to entertain civilians. It looks spectacular!

Accessories & Gear / Warhead Crossdraw Vest
« on: March 11, 2004, 09:44:23 AM »
What do you think of this gear?

http://www.airsoftatlanta.com/images/wa ... da_jpg.jpg

* Warhead Industries Crossdraw Vest -OD green
*Custom vests, high quality - made for real military
* One size fits all; small-XL (not XXL)
* Fits up to 8 MP5, G3, M16 mags, 6 pistol mags, and other pockets included.
* Comes with web belt, sniper shoulder pad, and webbing on the back of vest
* Crossdraw holster will fit nearly ANY pistol, including the Desert Eagle, M9, etc...

Cost: $49

I'm looking for a very inexpensive choice for my gear, which is why I'm looking at this.

Thanks.

General Airsoft Discussion / Carpool to ASOC II
« on: March 03, 2004, 10:13:34 AM »
I'm willing to bet I'm not the only one without an SUV. So, can anyone give me a ride to ASOC II? I live in N. Scottsdale near the Carefree Highway and Scottsdale Road.

Also, let's post where people are and if you too need a ride.

Thanks.

General Airsoft Discussion / Good books on tactics

Can anyone recommend a good book or two on field tactics to help improve this noob?

I'm curious to know what is required to setup an OP, say at BT, for the day? Is permission from the State required? How do you determine where you can play and not affect campers and ATV'ers?

I'm asking because there isn't a game this weekend and thought maybe a bunch of us who are hungering for more playing time could get together at BT and play. Of course it's short notice and so it wouldn't be as elaborate as DH but it would still give us new guys some practice.

Thanks.

General Airsoft Discussion / Newbie pre-purchase question
« on: February 19, 2004, 06:25:03 PM »
I wanted your opinion on the Powerline 5693, nickle plated, bb pistol

http://www.pyramydair.com/cgi-bin/model.pl?model_id=303

I went to Walmart tonight and the kit (protective glasses, 350 bbs, 3 mini co2 canisters and targets) cost only $45.

I wanted to know if this is a good first gun to buy? It would ultimately become my backup weapon but for now I wanted to get someting affordable, yet not a waste of money.

My concern is if co2 guns are allowed in play at AA games and if they are good or bad to have?

Thanks in advance,
Jonathan

General Airsoft Discussion / Newbie question: What are these acronyms...
« on: February 19, 2004, 12:14:07 PM »
Now I'm really showing my inexperience by asking... what do all these acronyms I'm reading stand for? If not all then list some of the more common ones.

I know AA stands for AirsoftArizona :-)

General Airsoft Game Discussion / Newbie question about getting hit
« on: February 19, 2004, 07:44:49 AM »
I am transitioning from paintball to airsoft and would like to know how you enforce someone getting hit and being out of the mission.

In a paintball mission it's obvious, you either hear your opponent scream :-) or you see the paint all over him/her. But how is this resolved in a game with bbs?

Regards,
Jonathan
Well that means that you are not in the game because you cannot be killed. That is what I think of when you are in the game.

Ah, ok, I see your point. Well, you could also look at it as you having nine lives because you control nine team members [:)]
I would highly enjoy this game more, if you were actual in it and had to give orders while you were being shot at. Other than that it looks great.

You are in this game, however, unlike FPS you are the commander giving orders to each individual team member. Think of Ghost Recon but without the FPS part and being a lot more realistic.
