They did the same thing last 4th of July.  Al Qaeda is going to strike when we least expect it, not when security is at it's highest.  Enjoy your holiday people.

Security Threat level raised to HIGH level.

This morning it was made official that the Terrorist threat level was raised from elevated to "High". The government believes something bigger than Sept. 11th could happen anytime in the near future. They've been monitoring very high traffic of al Qaeda transmissions. For the Full story click the link provided below.
